Jan 31-Feb. 7 ALL changes in this timeframe are REQUIRED to be communicated by your athletic director or administrator and will only be permitted for emergency purposes only. If your team can safely perform their routine they are expected to compete at this event.
Feb. 1- Music licenses uploaded to NFHS database- be sure to select "CHEER - District III"
Feb. 1 - Music emailed to DJ. manny.ferrer@att.net, Please send in .mp3 format, label file SCHOOL - CATEGORY (ex: Ridgevue - Pom) **If you competed at TVCI the DJ should already have your files, but you may want to check with him to confirm)
Feb. 7th - COMPETITION DAY!
3A/4A/5A Session 1 begins at 9:00am
6A Session 2 session time approx 2:30pm.
Scratches Policy: (Approved for both District III Cheer & Dance by the District III Board of Control)
In order to confirm how many teams will be moving on to State in each division, prior to the day of competition, all District entries are due NO later than Friday, Jan. 31st at 8:00 pm, and scratches will NOT be allowed after that time.
If a team needs to scratch their entries due to circumstances beyond their control (i.e. in cases of injury, illness, bereavement, etc…), the school AD or principal must email the competition director, Marshanne Bates, and provide a reason for the scratch no later than Friday, February 6, 2026, 8:00 pm
NFHS Database Search Instructions
Team Check In:
Session 1 : 3A/4A/5A Team Check In - 7:30am-8:00am
Sesssion 2: 6A Team Check In -1:00-1:30pm
Signs will direct you to the team check-in location. (Refer to event map on the Home page for bus parking and team drop-off location)
No personal and team items are to be brought into performance/spectator areas. These items are to remain in team seating areas.
Only Varsity Team coaches with coach pass/school ID and uniformed athletes will be allowed through team entrance, in warm-up areas, and in the team seating area.
If you have more than 4 coaches, please email Marshanne to confirm prior to event.
Teams will be permitted to enter once all athletes and coaches have arrived.
At check-in you will receive coach wristbands and uniformed athletes will have their hand stamped. These are the only persons who will be permitted into restricted areas.
All non-uniformed athletes, parent helpers, siblings, etc.. MUST pay and enter through the gate entrance at 8:00am. They will not be permitted through team check-in and into restricted team areas.
Coach Meeting:
Session 1 : Coach Meeting 8:15am
Session 2: Coach Meeting 1:45pm
Only one coach is required to attend the meeting. Gym layout tour, event logistics and questions will be answered at this time.

Sound checks with the DJ will be from 10:30-11:30am for session one, and session 2 when the DJ is available following session 1.
Music is permitted in the warm-up gym.
Be sure to upload your licenses to the NFHS database by Feb. 2 as well.
Warm-ups:
Session 1: Start Time - 8:45am
Session 2: Start Time -2:15pm
There will be bluetooth speaker for music in warm-up gym.
There will be two stations in the warmup gym.
First station is hardwood and a set of tumble/jump strips.
Second station is 9 panel warmup cloor.
Each team will get 3 minutes of warm-up time per station for Pom and Sideline and 5 minutes for Show Cheer.
Athletic Trainer:
A certified trainer will be on-site for medical emergencies that occur during the event.
Trainer will not provide teams with supplies for preexsisting conditions/injuries. Please bring own pre-wrap, athletic tape, pain reliever, etc..
Technical Interpretations:
If you have any questions about the legality of any stunts, please don’t hesitate to contact Marshanne Bates, Dist III Interpreter or Lisa Hahle, Idaho state rules interpreter.
Judging:
A qualified panel of judges will use the IHSAA approved score sheets for routine judges. Certified and trained technical judges will follow all NFHS and Idaho Cheer Rules throughout the event and judge each team accordingly.
State Qualifying and Awards:
Teams must place in the top half, of the total number of routines, of in-district schools of their classification to qualify for the state competition. A plaque will be awarded to the top qualifier in each category in each classification. Certificates will be given to all other state qualifiers.
State Qualification: Place in the top half of the total number of routines by in-district schools of their classification. Schools are allowed to enter ONE routine in each division at the district tournament (Cheer teams – max of 3, one each in show, sideline and pom; A team can qualify for state in one or all of the following categories: POM, SIDELINE and/or SHOW.
Exception: 1n districts with just one team in a classification, that school may advance to State without qualifying at the tournament unless otherwise required by the district board of control.
Additional Qualification Allowance: Cheer: If a team qualifies in SHOW, they will be allowed to bring their non-qualifying routines (SIDELINE and/or POM) as long as they competed in those divisions at Districts. SHOW cannot be the additional routine added. It must be either SIDELINE and/or POM.
Alternates: Districts may submit one alternate in each qualifying division. Alternates will be entered in state only if a team out of that division in their own district is unable to attend.
Final Score Sheets:
Final judge score sheets, tabulation sheets and team place order will be given only to a coach at the conclusion of the awards.
Scoresheets can be picked up at the tabulation table.
