Beginning at 1st level, a Jedi Artisan may spend 4 + 1d6 Chakra points to to Create a Nanomate to apply to a Droid or damaged machine, or himself if he is a Iron Knight (Droid Jedi), if the item is dropped and goes unused for 1d10 rounds it will disappear.
At 2nd level, the Jedi artisan can create a +1 mastercraft Crystal chamber for his own or another Jedi's weapon. At 6th level, the Jedi artisan can upgrade +1 mastercraft crystal chambers to +2. At 10th level, the Jedi Artisan can upgrade +1 or +2 mastercraft crystal chambers to +3. This progression represents a step beyond standard lightsaber construction in an effort to create an object that is the finest possible channel for the Force, Each level of Mastercraft crystal chambers allow an additional crystal to be installed, the default crystal chamber slot that all lightsabers possess determines the color of the energy blade, the Extra Artisan slots just add additional crystals to augment the primary's ability.
Because lightsabers are complex exotic weapons, and because mastercrafting adds another layer of complexity to their creation, the final Craft check DC to complete a mastercraft lightsaber is 25 (for +1) or 35 (for +2) or 45 (for +3) after the normal final craft check.
When attempting to reroute power or make jury-rigged repairs on a starship, the Jedi Artisan gains a +4 circumstance bonus (see Starship Combat).
The Second purpose of Force Engineering allows Artisans to install specially crafted Power cells, Plasma Stream Lenses and Plasma Emitters to Lightsabers and other Nanopulse weapons, making them the master in Nanopulse technology.
After 5th level, a Jedi Artisan may spend 8 + 2d6 Chakra points to to Create a Dinanomate to apply to a Droid or damaged machine, or himself if he is a Iron Knight (Droid Jedi), if the item is dropped and goes unused for 1d8 rounds it will disappear.
At 7th level, the Jedi artisan can use any inorganic material to create a lightsaber's casing. Focus crystals remain necessary, but the casing and a few other parts of the lightsaber can be crafted from any material that the Jedi artisan has a means to work. Jwartek, an Ithorian Jedi artisan, crafted his lightsaber casing from a branch knocked from an ancient tree during a storm, while an artisan on Coruscant specializes in creating lightsaber casings from colored glass or crystal.
The best Jedi Artisans undertake technical design classes conducted by Jedi specialists. The classes are meant to teach otherwise individualistic designers how to do things the most efficient way.
The character adds a +4 circumstance bonus on any Bluff, Diplomacy, Gather Information, or Intimidate check that involves other non-Jedi Engineers or technicians.
