One of the main objectives of the DIS SIG is to amplify and celebrate the work of our members. We have several award opportunities, including those for members and student members. Most awards are overseen by the Awards Committee, led by the Senior Leader, where a jury of SIG members and student members reviews applications and recognizes stellar work in dissemination and implementation science.

MEMBER AWARDS
CAREER ACHIEVEMENT AWARD
The DIS SIG Career Achievement Award is presented to a SIG member who is at a senior level and has made significant contributions related to dissemination and implementation science. This individual is nominated by SIG members and selected by the Leadership Committee; eligible nominees must: 1) be a DIS SIG member, and 2) be at the level of full professor or equivalent position AND/OR over 20 years since receiving their terminal degree, and 3) be nominated or self-nominate during the annual application process, announced via the listserv. The winner receives a plaque and is asked to present the keynote address at the business meeting during the ABCT convention. In 2026, the Leadership Committee decided to give the Career Achievement Award in odd-numbered convention years, to alternate with the new Mid-Career award.

MID-CAREER AWARD (New!)
Beginning in 2026, the Leadership Committee created a new award to honor the contributions and achievements of an exceptional mid-career SIG-member. This individual is nominated by SIG members and selected by the Leadership Committee; eligible nominees must: 1) be a DIS SIG member, and 2) be at the level of an established assistant/associate professor or equivalent position AND/OR between 10 and 20 years since receiving their terminal degree, and 3) be nominated or self-nominate during the annual application process, announced via the listserv. The winner receives a plaque and is asked to present the keynote address at the business meeting during the ABCT convention. This award will be given in even-numbered years, beginning with the 2026 convention, to alternate with the Career Achievement Award.

EARLY CAREER AWARD
The DIS SIG Early Career Award is an annual honor recognizing the body of dissemination and implementation science research achieved by an early career individual. This award is presented at the business meeting during the ABCT convention and includes a plaque. This individual is nominated by SIG members and selected by the Awards Committee; eligible nominees must: 1) be a DIS SIG member, and 2) be at the level of an assistant professor or equivalent position AND/OR fewer than 10 years since receiving their terminal degree, and 3) be nominated or self-nominate during the annual application process, announced via the listserv.

STUDENT MEMBER AWARDS
STUDENT POSTER AWARD
The DIS SIG Student Poster Award is an annual honor given to a student member whose work is presented at DIS SIG's table at the annual ABCT SIG Poster Expo. Selection is based on a peer review scoring process to ensure the highest quality work is recognized. Posters first-authored by DIS SIG student members will be considered for the DIS SIG Student Award for excellence in research. From this initial call for submissions, the Awards Committee will select three finalists. All three finalists will be asked to submit their posters approximately 3 weeks before the conference for judging to assist in the final ranking of our first, second, and third place winners. The awards are presented at the business meeting and include a cash award and certificate.

STUDENT TRAVEL AWARD
Launched in 2023 by Dr. Sara Landes and the Leadership Committee, the DIS SIG Student Travel Award is an annual, needs-based award for student members. Every summer, student members who are traveling to attend the ABCT conference can apply to receive a small financial award to support their travel for student members who will be attending the ABCT conference. The award is entirely supported via member donations; those who donate are recognized at the annual business meeting. Award amounts vary by the the total funds donated and the number of applications received. Requests for both donations and applications are announced every summer via the listserv. Eligible nominees must: 1) be both ABCT and DIS SIG student members by the date of the conference and 2) complete a brief survey describing their need for financial support to attend ABCT. The awards are presented at the business meeting and include a cash award and certificate.
