TO SHARE THE KNOWLEDGE ABOUT DATA COMPRESSION
INTRODUCTION
Our project aims to decrease the amount of data consumed by the images. With increase in use of social media and smartphones, the memory storage and transmission of data is augmenting. In today's world, where people are fond of taking pictures, we need a measure to reduce the image size in order to save the storage space. So, here we use Huffman's coding algorithm to compress the images to save space.
David Albert Huffman, an American computer science pioneer best known for his Huffman coding, lived from August 9, 1925, until October 7, 1999. He was a pioneer in the area of mathematical origami as well.

At Ohio State University, Huffman graduated with a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering in 1944. After that, he served in the US Navy for two years as an officer. He returned to Ohio State to earn his master's degree in electrical engineering in 1949. In 1953, he earned his Doctor of Science in electrical engineering at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), with the thesis The Synthesis of Sequential Switching Circuits, advised by Samuel H. Caldwell.
