The purpose of the project Discover New Opportunities - Brush Your Skills is learnig by work acquing new vocational skills using innovative technologies, that are needed and essential on the job market implementing european dimension of education.The project aim is to motivate and increase students' interest in vocational education and training in order to understand the value of their education, to integrate it with European education, and to carry out their jobs and jobs in a new environment, thereby gaining new experiences.The implementation of mobility in Portugal will realize all the planned goals and outcomes. Students will gain new skills by practicing at various high-end hotels, wellness and spas. By learning through work, they will design and realize new entrepreneurial initiatives and tailor their creative knowledge to the ways they work in their school and to the needs of the contemporary job market. Students will enrich and broaden their current knowledge of Europe's cultural and historical heritage, customs and traditions, which abounds in the country of Portugal, the Alentejo region and the UNESCO protected city. The professional practice will be carry out by 32 students from the tourist-hotel, catering and cosmetic sectors field. Students will be divide into two groups. The first group will start mobility in the autumn of 2020, and the second group in the spring next year. The mobility would be 3 weeks, 21 days of practice and 2 days of travel. There would be two accompanying teachers per student group. Mentors for students and the place of practice will be select by the mediating agency according to the students' motivation, skills and attitudes. The preparatory activities of the project include the selection of students for mobility, development of a detailed mobility program and activities unrelated to professional practice, language and cultural preparation of students, the organization of travel and accommodation of students and teachers, continuous interaction between project participants and dissemination. Activities during mobility include practicing internships, meeting with students and staff involved in the project, visiting students at work, learning about the culture and traditions of Portugal. Post-mobility activities include organizing Open Erasmus + Day at school to disseminate results and a collaborative learning workshop, writing a final report and disseminating the project locally, regionally and preferably nationally through the media. This project will enable the use of the latest methodological approaches to learning and the implementation of professional practice, which we wish to strengthen the educational component of vocational learning. The expected results for students are new acquired knowledge and skills in the profession, greater self-confidence and autonomy in carrying out work, coping with new unpredictable situations, improving communication skills and business communication in foreign languages, openness to European values, intercultural awareness, developing entrepreneurial spirit and initiatives, greater motivation to participate in future vocational training.The expected results for teachers are to strengthen competences in teaching and working with students, greater openness to change and modernization in the educational institution, developing methods of evaluation and self-evaluation of students, ability to adapt to the individual needs of students and groups, transversal competences, ability to incorporate lessons learned into the curriculum and the school development plan, and develop organizational and managerial competencies.The expected results for the school are the internationalization of the school, the development of the quality and reputation of the school, the improvement of the quality of education in the school, the new vocational curriculum and the acquisition of new competences for our students and teachers. With this project, students will acquire higher quality vocational education, acquire new social values and develop the necessary social skills. The long-term benefits we strive for are to reach an agreement for future student exchanges, to create a better quality organization of our school's professional practice, directly influence the positive image of the school and to enroll more students in our school. That is why we want students to learn through work by strengthening their competences and acquiring new skills and qualifications that will, on their return, disseminate to current students and make school and vocational professions more recognizable and attractive to future generations of vocational students. Those who undertake vocational training or apprenticeships on mobility can expect to learn a lot about themselves, and to discover talents they didn’t know they had.
