Chihuahua's have a rich history dating back to the Aztecs who used them as companion dogs. They are natives of Mexico and became popular pets in the U.S. in the 1900s.

Chihuahua's are one of the smallest dog breeds in the world. They are known by many as "purse dogs'. They come in all different coat colors but easily recognizable by their large erect ears, big eyes, and rounded head. They have a small frame and typically weigh no more than 8 pounds if taken care of correctly.

Chihuahua's are moderatly low maintenance dogs. They are high energy so it is important to take them on walks or let them run around outside. Exercise is vital for Chihuahua's to maintain a healthy weight. They don't shed much so coat care is low maintenance. They are one of the breeds with the longest lifespan (14-16 years). 

Chihuahua's are known to have a fiery personality despite their small size. They are loyal companions and make for a great lap dog.
