Discord Translator Bot ("we", "our", or "the extension") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information is processed when you use the Discord Translator Bot browser extension and how that information is handled.

### 1. Single Purpose & Core Functionality

Discord Translator Bot exists for one single purpose: to provide real-time translation of messages and drafts within Discord Web (`https://discord.com`).

### 2. Information We Process

#### A. Message & Text Content

- When you translate a message or draft, the text is transmitted directly to the translation engine configured in your settings (such as Google Translate, or your chosen AI provider like OpenAI, DeepL, Google Gemini, Groq, or DeepSeek).

- **We do not store, retain, or log your messages.** Once translation completes and the text is displayed in your browser, the data is discarded from memory. We operate no external databases or servers that collect or monitor your conversations.

#### B. User Settings & Configuration

- Your preferred language, auto-translate preference, translation engine selection, and local usage counters are stored exclusively on your device using `chrome.storage.local`.

- If you provide your own API key (e.g., OpenAI or DeepL), that key is stored locally on your device and is only used to authenticate requests sent directly from your browser to that provider. We never have access to your API keys.

#### C. License Verification

- If you purchase a Pro license, your license key is sent directly to Lemon Squeezy (`https://api.lemonsqueezy.com`) for cryptographic validation and seat activation.

- We do not collect, process, or store credit card numbers, billing addresses, or bank details. All checkout transactions are processed securely by Lemon Squeezy.

### 3. What We Do NOT Collect

- We do **NOT** track your browsing history or monitor activity outside Discord Web.

- We do **NOT** track keystrokes, mouse clicks, or personal user behavior.

- We do **NOT** collect personally identifiable information (such as your legal name, physical address, or phone number).

- We do **NOT** sell, rent, monetize, or trade any user data to third parties, advertisers, or data brokers.

- We do **NOT** use user data for creditworthiness or lending purposes.

### 4. Third-Party Services

Depending on your settings, requests are made directly from your browser to:

- **Google Translate** (default translation service)

- **Lemon Squeezy** (license validation)

- **User-Configured Providers** (DeepL, OpenAI, Google Gemini, Groq, DeepSeek, OpenRouter, or local Ollama)

All third-party requests are governed by the respective provider's privacy policy and terms of service.

### 5. Security & Data Retention

Because all settings are stored locally on your device in your browser's extension sandbox, uninstalling the extension immediately deletes all stored preferences, license states, and cached data from your machine.
