With more and more apps being available on the Microsoft Store, are there any advantages and disadvantages to using the Microsoft Store version to have them all in one place versus downloading the apps online from their own websites?

This is not about the number of apps and availability on the MS store like open source apps. This is asking about when an app is already available on the MS Store, should we download directly or use the MS store version?

hello guys i'm in a work discord for designers & i've been in it for 3 years used to download every picture with no copyright they send & save all for future use since all pics they share are high quality & for free but recently i lost that folder & there are thousands of pictures is there any apps or program that helps me to download all pictures loaded to that channel at once

I'm using Visual Studio Code to make a discord bot sent notification. I need discord.py and requests installed but when I install them, and do pip list, I don't see them. I saw discord.py installed and then when I did pip install requests, it was gone. I'm using Python 3.11 and most recent version of Visual Studio Code. When I try to install discord.py, it states, "Requirement already satisfied." Any help is greatly appreciated!

Only issue is that, for FS's second argument, discord doesn't have a selection for just the file. Reason i'm trying this way is because I took this idea from here:how to save an image from discord using discord bot node jsBut "attachment.file" isn't a real thing. Other threads show just really overly complicated methods with new calls, like something called request, I just wanna do this straight off fs and discord.

It basically finds where file is stored on the discord website and using "request" gets it from there. To keep file's name you can use message.attachments.first.name if you need to. Unfortunately I haven't found out how to save file type. If any questions, I will try to help!P.S. don't forget to define and download the "request" module.

Today I saw that I could update Discord on Ubuntu 20.04.1 LTS to version 0.0.12. The problem now is that in the Ubuntu Software the newest version is 0.0.11. I also cannot open the .deb file that discord downloads for the update in Ubuntu Software. I also tried to uninstall and reinstall Discord through Ubuntu Software. I also tried to update through the command line with the snap. I used snap refresh discord and it said that there were no updates available.

I'm not certain that following the steps of 'download epic games> make account> download warframe (again)>claim stuffs>delete epic games and that install of warframe' would work with my installation of warframe on the discord store. People have said this works for steam, but I really don't want to risk losing(permanantly, since disc. store no longer exists) my functioning installation of warframe unless fully sure that this also works for the discord store version. Does anyone know if this is a valid concern?

If you copy these files into .../Epic/Warframe/Downloaded/ then I'd expect it to work the same way. If you don't have the .../Downloaded/ folder, it'll be created when you first run the Warframe launcher from the EGS installation. Just abort the update processs after it starts downloading everything.

no i never saw this link before. the part that scares me the most is that i did not interact with my pc at the time of the warning at all. i was just watching a twicht stream and had the discord web page open. i did not even had my hands on mouse or keyboard for 5min prior to the warning, so there is no way i accidentally opened a link that lead to the download. the full scan showed no results but i really can not come up with another answer for this download attempt, than that i already have some sort of malware on my pc :(

Linux: Discord versions installed using flatpak or snap need modifications in order to support IPC. In order to avoid this (and as Discord itself suggests) you should download it from discord.com
