2024 NYC Disability Pride Parade Text Description

The following document is a written text description of all of the maps for the 2024 NYC Disability Pride Parade. The following information goes over the route, lineup locations and all parade amenities.

On the day of the parade, there will be a limited number of tactile maps available as well as volunteers to provide directions at an Information Booth on the corner of East 24th street and Madison Avenue.

Disability Pride Parade Route

The Disability Pride Parade route will be from Madison Square Park, down Broadway, and ending at Union Square Park. The parade will officially start on the corner of East 26th Street and 5th Avenue (on the northwest corner of Madison Square Park) down Broadway to East 16th Street. Then we'll make a left at East 16th Street to the Union Square Plaza.

Disability Pride Parade Lineup Locations at Madison Square Park

The lineup locations for the parade are on the immediate streets north and east of Madison Square Park. There are five sections: A, B, C, D and E.

Section A

Section A will line up on East 26th Street between 5th Avenue and Madison Avenue. When the parade kicks off, they will march toward 5th Avenue and make a left onto Broadway.

Section B

Section B will line up on East 26th Street between Madison Avenue and Park Avenue. When section B begins marching, they will walk down East 26th Street toward 5th Avenue and make a left onto Broadway.

Section C

Section C will be lining up on Madison Avenue between East 25th Street and East 26th Street. When section C begins marching, they will march north up Madison Avenue, turn left onto East 26th Street and then march west toward 5th Avenue, eventually making a left and marching down Broadway.

Section D

Section D will line up on Madison Avenue between East 25th Street and East 24th Street. When section D begins marching, they will march north up Madison Avenue, turn left onto East 26th Street, and then march west toward 5th Avenue, eventually making a left and marching down Broadway. 

Section E

Section E will be lining up on East 25th Street, between Madison Avenue and Park Avenue South. When section E begins marching, they will march west on East 25th Street, make a right onto Madison Avenue, march up Madison Avenue, turn left onto East 26th Street, and then march west toward 5th Avenue, eventually making a left and marching down Broadway.

Madison Square Park Restrooms

Accessible Restrooms for the lineup area are in a few different locations to the east of Madison Square Park.

The first set of restrooms will be on the southwest corner of Madison Avenue and East 26th Street.

The second set of restrooms will be on the northwest corner of Park Avenue South and East 26th Street.

The third set of restrooms will be on the northwest corner of Park Avenue South and East 25th Street.

Madison Square Park Charging Station

There will be a charging station located on the south west corner of East 26th street and Madison avenue, across from Madison Square park.

Madison Square Park - Access a Ride Dropoff Area

There will be an Access a Ride dropoff area on East 24th street in between Madison Avenue and Park Avenue South. Once dropped off you can move west on East 24th street toward Madison Avenue and make a right to the various lineup locations.

Disability Pride Parade Festival Area

The parade will conclude in Union Square with a large festival of music, a children and family area as well as a resource fair. Additional details will be added later this week. Please see below for important amenities

Union Square Restrooms

There are accessible restrooms located in the festival area of Union Square Park. The first set of restrooms are located along the west side of the park. When you enter the park, the restrooms will be on your right, past a row of information booths. The second set of restrooms are on the central north side of Union Square Park. When you enter the park, if you continue to walk straight they will be on your right when you reach the edge of the festival.

Union Square Water

There is an accessible water fountain on the North-west corner of of Union Square Park. After entering the park at 16th street, the water will be immediately on your left.

Union Square Charging Station

There is a wheelchair charging station on the North-west corner of Union Square Park. After entering the park at 16th street, the charging station will be immediately on your left.

Union Square Access a Ride Pickup Location

The Access a Ride pickup location for the end of the parade is located on East 15th street in between Union Square West and 5th Avenue.
