This has been my Mantra always! This has also led me to making meaningful connections in the field as a film is always a collaborative process and before I go any further, I thank all the people who have collaborated, taught and enlightened me in this journey. I also acknowledge and honor all the ancestral stewards of the land on which I reside.
My name is Dipti Gupta, I teach full time in the department of Cinema and Communications at Dawson College and Part Time at Concordia University. My full-time profession is teaching, and I devote my ‘spare’ time in reading, viewing and making short films. This site is a compilation of the shorts that I have made over the years while living in Canada, and you are invited to browse and also share the work.
As you, the visitor to this site, will notice, the letter M has always fascinated me and several of the titles begin with the letter.
Hoping you will view the work and pass it on to people interested in the subjects explored here.
I currently serve on the board of Teesri Duniya Theatre, a Montreal based culturally diverse theatre company. I am also on the Advisory Board of Serai, a digital magazine based in Montreal. I have also been a festival organizer and Director for the South Asian Film Festival in Montreal since 2011 to 2019. I have been a jury member, panelist for the Yorkton Film Festival, Saskatchewan for the animation category for three consecutive years and for the Quebec Writers Federation of Montreal. Before moving to Canada, I worked with a documentary film collective called Cinemart Foundation in India, which produced several award-winning social and educational short films and documentaries.
