What is the Purpose of Cursillo?

Cursillos purpose is to help those in the church understand their individual callings to be Christian Leaders. The leadership may be exercised in work situations, in the family, in social life, in leisure activities, and within the Church environment. Leadership, in Cursillo, does not mean power over others, but influence on others. It helps all of us to be aware that we can exert a positive influence on those around us as members of the Jesus Movement.

De Colores Y'all! Welcome to the Mississippi Episcopal Cursillo! Cursillo is a global movement within the Christian Church that aims to impact and Christianize environments through active Christian communities. It begins with a three-day Cursillo weekend that offers a transformative experience - encountering Christ, meeting fellow Christians, and observing their way of life. The Cursillo method explained during the weekend, provides a framework for continuing Christian growth after the event. The resulting Christian community is a network of men and women who live the Christian life, united in Christ, and are supported within their surroundings.
