I am interested in the topics of Behavioral Economics, Economics of Education, Health Economics, and Applied Microeconomics. I am most passionate about understanding why people behave differently from what standard economic theory dictates, as well as how to take advantage of these tendencies to design better and more effective policies.
As of right now, as part of EFFEct Project (funded by the European Commission in its Horizon Europe framework - grant 101129146), I am researching ways to promote summer school attendance in the Flemish region of Belgium. EFFEct is an impact-driven research project aiming to enhance the efficiency and quality of education in the EU by providing evidence-based policy recommendations and conducting rigorous research on the education policies of individual EU member states, in particular given the challenges brought forth by the digital age and the aftermath of the COVID-19 pandemic.
