Based on popular request, here is a photo diary of things we ate in February. The photos are unedited and taken from my phone. Enjoy!
Instant Pot Pork Belly & Egg - Link
We got an AeroPress ($40) this month as our coffee grinder started to break. We love this baby! Highly recommend the product. Tip: use the 20% BBB coupon.
Rob wanted to visit T&T to grab Asian foods prior to LNY dinner. As we hadn't visited in months, we did some damage :P. This is Rob sanitizing post our shopping.
We really enjoyed steaming fresh tilapia for the first time! Adapted recipe
Brown enjoying homemade BBT from a set gifted by friends Malcolm & Cathy for Rob's bday (thank you).
This tomato & egg on rice was a life saver. I was attending a 5-hr virtual training and we only had 15 minute to down our lunch LOL.
Purchased our first pick-up meal from Skip the Dishes. Albert's Real Jamaican Foods. This is *half the Beef Roti ($11.24) - so delicious. Bonus they are local & Black owned!

Spare ribs & rice!
We discovered egg tofu (branded as #1) at T&T. I can see why it's slightly more expensive, it was extremely tasty paired with bean sprouts, oyster & soy sauce!
Sally sporting LNY masks from House of Tytan. They recently started making headbands too!.
Our LNY dinner. Left to right: R1 - bean sprouts with egg tofu, fried rice, stir fry shrimp,R2: chinese broccoli, canned fish & fermented soy bean
Rob's mom gifted us jumbo shrimp for LNY. For our family dinner, we all made our version of it. Prince Robert requested Air Fryer Shrimp. We ran out of eggs so I subbed it with butter. Not bad considering I had <30 minutes to whip it together!
We've really enjoyed supporting local bakery Goûter. Our Valentine's Day treat was their signature Kouign-Aman! It was indeed super tasty!
Valentine's Day special pastry at Goûter. I couldn't recall the name, but it was delicious!
My friend, Mariel introduced me to the baked pasta feta hack from TikTok. Of course I added my spin on it. Here's a ref video.
The Costco mini fresh corn is super tasty. It is definitely tastier than the canned version!
Things have been really this busy this month. Thus, out of necessity, I've started to delegate sous chef meal prep responsibilities to Rob. He's a fantastic cutter! :)
In February, our team's monthly cooking session was hosted by my coworker who taught us how to make an Indigenous dish called "3 Sisters Soup'. As I was missing many ingredients, mine turned into a tasty 'chili'. As she also talked about her Baba's homemade perogies, it became an impromptu meal.
One pan meal featuring our favourite Japanese sausage (see next image)
These babies are from Costco. Whenever we see the word Japanese, we want to try it :P
Brown treating mommy with some Retail therapy relief lol. Isn't she gorgeous?!
Newest Sourdough book! New World Sourdough by Byron Ford (Black cook and author). Sally is excited but has been so busy she has not made anything from it yet.
