Creator
Laurel Crafton, a music educator for over 10 years, has dedicated herself to providing equitable music instruction for all children. Growing up playing piano, viola, and later double bass in orchestra and jazz groups, she graduated in 2011 with a degree in Music Education and Double Bass Performance from Chicago College of Performing Arts at Roosevelt University. She went on to teaching experiences in Chicago, rural Oregon and Portland with Ethos Music Center/AmeriCorps, Youth Music Project and currently teaches at an elementary school in East Portland.. Together with other artists, she is offering video curriculum experiences, custom workshops and classes in music, yoga and mindful movement aimed to connect students deeply to themselves, each other and their environment.
