Locorotondo, che deve il suo nome alla forma circolare perfetta del suo centro storico, è magnifica da visitare in qualsiasi periodo dell’anno, per il suo clima caldo ma asciutto d’estate e mite d’inverno.
Si trova tra le province di Taranto, Bari e Brindisi; è inoltre posizionata al centro della “Via dei 2 mari”, un percorso che congiunge il mar Adriatico al Mar Ionio e che è percorribile a piedi o in bicicletta.
La posizione risulta strategica sia per raggiungere in 20 minuti le spiagge ed il mare limpido di Monopoli, Savelletri e Torre Canne che per visitare gli altri borghi caratteristici della Valle D’Itria quali Alberobello, Cisternino, Martina Franca e Fasano con il famoso Zoo Safari a 10/15 minuti, Ostuni, Polignano a Mare e Castellana con le sue imperdibili grotte a circa 30 minuti.
La vista panoramica più suggestiva di Locorotondo è il Belvedere di Via Nardelli, situato sulla sommità della collina del centro storico; da qui si può ammirare l'intera valle fino a scorgere la costa del Mare Adriatico. Uno dei balconi di Dimora Bellavista si affaccia proprio su questa terrazza panoramica detta anche “Lungomare” per la vista mozzafiato sulla valle; lo spettacolo affascinante che da qui potrete ammirare è impareggiabile !
La bellezza di Locorotondo è anche il suo incantevole centro storico e la sua atmosfera magica; le stradine strette, i tetti spioventi in pietra, la pietra bianca delle case tipiche chiamate “Cummerse” e i tetti a forma di cono dei trulli, i balconcini sempre fioriti, lo rendono uno dei luoghi più suggestivi della Puglia.
Il centro (pedonale) è magico, immerso nel bianco della calce che riveste gli edifici e delle "chianche" le bianche pietre calcaree che costituiscono la pavimentazione stradale. Ovunque, fiori sgargianti e vicoletti dei quali innamorarsi.
Nel cuore del centro storico, a circa 90 mt., domina la Chiesa Madre di San Giorgio martire, capolavoro del barocco pugliese.
Il venerdì nella piazza principale del paese ha luogo il folkloristico mercato settimanale.
Il centro storico di Locorotondo offre durante tutto l’anno diversi eventi anche di richiamo internazionale: concerti, mercatini natalizi, percorsi enogastronomici, presentazione di libri e mostre d'arte, degustazione di vini locali presso la pregiata cantina sociale.

E poi, nella settimana centrale di agosto Locorotondo festeggia San Rocco, il suo santo protettore.
Le vie del paese sono addobbate a festa con fiori, luminarie ed una moltitudine di bancarelle; il nostro balcone panoramico è una poltrona in prima fila per la visione dell’emozionante gara pirotecnica che ogni anno attira migliaia di entusiasti spettatori e che chiude i festeggiamenti illuminando a giorno l’intera valle.
Locorotondo and its surroundings
Locorotondo, which owes its name to the perfect circular shape of its historic center, is magnificent to visit at any time of year because of its warm but dry climate in summer and mild in winter.
It is located between the provinces of Taranto, Bari and Brindisi; it is also positioned in the center of the "Via dei 2 mari," a route that connects the Adriatic Sea to the Ionian Sea and can be traveled on foot or by bicycle.
The location is strategic both to reach in 20 minutes the beaches and the clear sea of Monopoli, Savelletri and Torre Canne and to visit the other characteristic villages of the Valle D'Itria such as Alberobello, Cisternino, Martina Franca and Fasano with the famous Zoo Safari at 10/15 minutes, Ostuni, Polignano a Mare and Castellana with its unmissable caves at about 30 minutes.
The most striking panoramic view in Locorotondo is the Belvedere di Via Nardelli, located on the top of the hill in the historic center; from here you can admire the entire valley until you catch a glimpse of the Adriatic Sea coast. One of the balconies of Dimora Bellavista overlooks this panoramic terrace also known as "Lungomare" for the breathtaking view of the valley; the fascinating spectacle that you can admire from here is unparalleled !
The beauty of Locorotondo is also its enchanting historic center and its magical atmosphere; the narrow streets, the sloping stone roofs, the white stone of the typical houses called "Cummerse" and the cone-shaped roofs of the trulli, the little balconies always in bloom, make it one of the most evocative places in Apulia.
The (pedestrian) center is magical, bathed in the white lime covering the buildings and the "chianche" the white limestone stones that make up the street pavement. Everywhere, gaudy flowers and little alleys to fall in love with.
In the heart of the historic center, about 90 meters away, dominates the Mother Church of St. George the Martyr, a masterpiece of Apulian baroque.
On Fridays in the town's main square the folkloristic weekly market takes place.
Locorotondo's historic center offers various events throughout the year, including those of international appeal: concerts, Christmas markets, food and wine tours, book presentations and art exhibitions, and tasting of local wines at the fine social wine cellar.

And then, in the middle week of August Locorotondo celebrates San Rocco, its patron saint.
The streets of the town are festively decorated with flowers, illuminations and a multitude of stalls; our panoramic balcony is a front-row seat for viewing the exciting fireworks display that attracts thousands of enthusiastic spectators each year and closes the festivities by lighting up the entire valley.
