Krehg began his coaching career at Heritage Christian School (2000) here in Anchorage as a middle school basketball coach. In 2003, he became the varsity assistant at Heritage Christian who won 5 straight conference championships, appearing at the state tournament 5 years in a row and winning back to back 3A state titles in 2005 and 2006. In 2007, he began coaching at the University of Alaska Anchorage as an assistant coach to Rusty Osborne. While he was at UAA, they won a conference championship in 2008 and won the western regional that same year. They had their first Elite Eight appearance in UAA history and made it to the Final Four NCAA Division 2 tournament. In 2010, he started an assistant coach at NCAA Division 2 Texas A & M International. The next year, in 2011, they were regular season conference champions, conference tournament champions and had their first appearance in the NCAA Division 2 championship tournament. Since returning from Texas, Krehg has spent time coaching with various programs in the community and returned to Dimond as a varsity assistant in 2013 - 2016 and again in 2018. In 2017, he was the head coach at Houston High School. One of his greatest accomplishments in this time was the privilege to be an assistant coach in the prestigious McDonald's All American game. Since becoming head coach the Lynx have won the CIC Conference Championship in 2023, 2025 and 2026.
