The Daytona Ideal Miniature Enthusiasts (DIME) club was founded in 1974 by a small group of energetic and farsighted women all of whom had interests in the sharing and creating of miniatures. DIME became a chapter of the National Association of Miniature Enthusiasts (NAME) in 1987 which has operated exclusively as a 501 (c) (3) non-profit and educational corporation.
The NAME organization is composed of both individual members and clubs from all over the United States, Canada and internationally who share a love for dollhouses and miniatures.
The club first began exhibiting their projects in downtown Daytona Beach. As the club grew, the venue was moved to the Volusia County Fairgrounds and now includes the show display and flea market sale. For more information on our show and flea market click on our Events page.
The DIME club, like our parent group NAME meets regularly to exchange ideas, learn new skills, and enjoy workshop projects. All skill levels are welcome. It's a chance to make friends with others who also enjoy miniatures. Each March members vote on an activity for our yearly show. Model patterns are assembled as guidelines and everyone is encouraged to use their unique creative abilities to make one of a kind miniature marvels.
