*NEW* 2nd Building
The second Brethren Church was built and dedicated in 1924,
located in the same location, as the first, on County Road 426
On July 30. 1954, lightning struck the church bell,
causing the church to burn down.
Czech Moravian Brethren State Sunday School Conventions
The church bell was struck by lightning during a storm, starting a fire that burned down our second church.
When the bell was struck, it rang so loud.....
that it alerted the community of Czech people to look toward the hill where the church stood and realize that the building was on fire!
The church bell is now displayed in the front of the Dime Box Brethren Church
*The bellows pump organ was saved by lifting it through a window.
Leonard and Millie Mikulin gifted a small piece of land located on a beautiful hill on FM141, as the new location for our third Czech Moravian Brethren Church, now located in Dime Box, Texas
.
Members of the community again donated time and labor to build our present day Sanctuary, following the plans drawn up by Albert "Boots" Blaha. The building of the Fellowship Hall came shortly after.
The Church was dedicated on May 29, 1955.
Services are Sunday Mornings at 9:00 AM.
