If you want a rugged, versatile neckband with dual-device switching and a built-in storage bag for long commutes or office work, choose Dilwe SX?991; if you need high-resolution audio with ultra-low latency, Auracast support, and nearly double the battery life for gaming or immersive travel listening, choose HomeSpot JY300.
The decision between these two wireless neckbands isn't just about brand names or marketing fluff; it is a choice between two very different philosophies of portable audio. One prioritizes practical utility and connectivity flexibility, while the other leans heavily into technical performance and future-proofing features like Auracast. Both devices aim to solve the same problem: how to get great sound without tangled wires during your daily routine. However, the specific way they approach that goal makes one clearly superior for certain users, particularly those looking for sleep headphones for airplane journeys or spatial audio over ear headphones for airplane entertainment.
• Dilwe SX?991: Offers robust 18-hour talk time and seamless dual-device pairing in a foldable, all-in-one package with a dedicated travel bag; however, it lacks high-resolution audio codecs and has a heavier build at 188g.
• HomeSpot JY300: Delivers exceptional 40-hour battery life, supports aptX HD and LC3 codecs for Hi-Res audio, and features ultra-lightweight design at only 33g; yet it requires an app for full feature access and lacks the physical dual-device switching convenience of its rival.
• Best For: The Dilwe SX?991 is the ideal pick for professionals juggling multiple screens, while the HomeSpot JY300 is the clear winner for audiophiles and gamers demanding premium fidelity.
The Dilwe SX?991 feels like a tool built for the busy professional or the frequent traveler who needs reliability above all else. Its most defining characteristic is the "2 in 1" nature of the device. You have a neckband that can transform into a pair of in-ear headphones via retractable buds. This mechanical design allows you to pull the earbuds out when you need them and tuck them away neatly when you don't, keeping the unit compact and easy to store in the included travel bag. For someone who moves between their car, office, and home, this adaptability is genuinely useful. You aren't forced to carry separate earbuds and a speaker; everything lives on your neck until you need it.
Connectivity is where this model truly shines for multitaskers. In real-world terms, this means you can be connected to your laptop for a video conference while your phone rings. You can answer the call from the headset controls without dropping the audio stream on your computer. This feature alone solves a massive pain point for remote workers. The Bluetooth 5.0 chip provides a stable range of up to 10 meters, which is sufficient for moving around a standard living room or office space without dropouts.

Battery life is solid, offering over 16 hours of music playback and up to 18 hours of talk time. While not industry-leading, it covers a full workday and then some. The charging time is under 3.5 hours, which is reasonable but not instant. The physical weight is significant at approximately 188 grams (about 6.6 ounces). This is heavy enough to notice if you are wearing it for extended periods, especially during sleep. If you are considering these as sleep headphones for airplane use, the bulk might be a factor to consider, though the soft ear caps in four sizes help ensure a secure fit during movement. The material is ABS plastic, making it durable and resistant to drops, which is excellent for rough handling in a backpack.
However, the audio experience is standard consumer grade. It uses dynamic drivers with a frequency range of 20Hz to 20,000Hz, which covers the basics well. There is no mention of specialized high-resolution codecs like aptX HD or low-latency modes. If you are watching movies or playing games, you might notice a slight delay compared to newer tech. But for calls, podcasts, and general music consumption, the sound isolation and voice dialing features make it a practical companion. It is designed for people who value function, durability, and the ability to switch tasks seamlessly over pure sonic fidelity.
The HomeSpot JY300 is engineered for a completely different user: the enthusiast who demands the best possible sound quality and battery endurance. From the moment you look at the specifications, it becomes clear that this device is built for performance. The standout feature here is the battery capacity. With up to 40 hours of playback time, this headphone can last through a week of moderate commuting or several long-haul flights without needing a charge. A quick charge of just 10 minutes yields 2 hours of playback, a feature that is incredibly convenient when you forget to plug it in overnight.
Audio fidelity is where the JY300 pulls ahead significantly. It supports aptX HD, AAC, and LC3 (LE Audio) codecs. These are not just buzzwords; they represent a tangible difference in sound quality. aptX HD delivers high-resolution audio, preserving more detail in your favorite tracks than standard Bluetooth compression. The LC3 codec, part of the new LE Audio standard, ensures low latency and efficient power usage. For gamers, the specified 30-millisecond audio latency is a game-changer, synchronizing sound with on-screen action perfectly. This makes the JY300 an excellent choice for mobile gaming or watching TV shows where lip-sync matters.
Perhaps the most forward-thinking feature is its readiness for Auracast. Unlike traditional Bluetooth, which connects to one source at a time, Auracast allows for one-to-many broadcasting. Using the QK Audio app, you can search for nearby broadcasts or set up your own. This is a future-proof investment. Imagine being in a park where everyone can listen to the same podcast simultaneously, or using a compatible smartphone to broadcast audio to multiple devices. The wireless range extends up to 100 feet, far exceeding the 10-meter limit of the Dilwe, giving you much more freedom to move around your home or office without losing signal.
Comfort is another major selling point. At a mere 33 grams, the HomeSpot JY300 is incredibly lightweight. It includes wire clips to keep the cable from flapping around during workouts, and the bud design is meant for all-day wear. This extreme lightness makes it a strong contender for bone conduction headphones for airplane scenarios where you want to feel the vibrations of the cabin without pressure on your ears, or simply for sleeping without a bulky band pressing against your neck. The passive noise cancellation helps block out ambient chatter, though it does not offer active digital noise cancellation. The control scheme is intuitive, with dedicated buttons for power, play/pause, volume, and even a specific button for Auracast, eliminating the need to dig through menus constantly.
While the audio is superior, the device relies more on software integration. The Auracast features require the QK Audio app, and the device uses Bluetooth 5.3 for better stability. It lacks the dual-device switching hardware of the Dilwe, meaning you will likely need to disconnect from one source to connect to another manually. However, for most users, the trade-off of superior sound, longer battery, and lighter weight is worth the minor inconvenience of managing connections.
• Best for Battery Life → HomeSpot JY300: With 40 hours of playback versus 16 hours, the HomeSpot wins decisively for long trips and heavy use.
• Best for Dual-Device Switching → Dilwe SX?991: Only the Dilwe allows true simultaneous connection to two sources, essential for multitasking professionals.
• Best for Audio Quality → HomeSpot JY300: Support for aptX HD and LC3 codecs provides noticeably richer, clearer sound than the standard setup of the Dilwe.
• Best for Gaming/Low Latency → HomeSpot JY300: The 30ms latency rating makes it far superior for synchronized audio-visual experiences compared to the Dilwe.
• Best for Portability/Weight → HomeSpot JY300: At 33g, it is almost half the weight of the 188g Dilwe, making it less intrusive for long-term wear.
• Best for Durability/Sturdiness → Dilwe SX?991: The foldable, retractable design and 188g build suggest a more rugged construction for rougher handling.
• Best for Future-Proofing → HomeSpot JY300: Auracast support and Bluetooth 5.3 ensure compatibility with upcoming audio standards.
• Best Value for Commuters → Dilwe SX?991: The included storage bag and dual-device capability offer practical value for daily travelers who need organization.
After weighing the specs and analyzing the intended use cases, I would buy the HomeSpot JY300. The leap in battery life from 16 hours to 40 hours is transformative, and the inclusion of aptX HD and LC3 codecs means I am getting a premium audio experience that the Dilwe simply cannot match. For anyone traveling by plane, the lower weight and passive noise isolation of the HomeSpot make it a much more comfortable option for long durations. While the Dilwe SX?991 is a capable device for office multitasking, the HomeSpot JY300 offers a more modern, high-fidelity solution that feels ready for the next decade of audio technology. If you are looking for the ultimate sleep headphones for airplane comfort or spatial audio over ear headphones for airplane entertainment, the HomeSpot JY300 is the superior choice.
Both models are designed for in-ear use, but the HomeSpot JY300 is significantly lighter at 33g compared to the 188g Dilwe, making it far more comfortable for side-sleeping or resting on a pillow during flights.
The HomeSpot JY300 offers 40 hours of continuous playback, which is more than double the 16 hours provided by the Dilwe SX?991, ensuring you won't run out of power on long international flights.
Yes, the HomeSpot JY300 requires the QK Audio app to access Auracast capabilities and manage settings, whereas the Dilwe SX?991 operates fully through physical buttons without needing software.
For audiophiles, yes. The HomeSpot JY300 supports aptX HD and LC3 codecs for high-resolution audio, delivering a clarity and depth that standard Bluetooth headphones like the Dilwe cannot achieve.
