I was raised in Pocatello, Idaho, and graduated from Highland High School (Ram Power Class of 2000!). While working on my undergrad, I took some time off to fulfill a dream of mine and work for THE BIG CHEESE himself. I packed up, moved to Florida to work at Walt Disney World. Thinking I would get to work in one of the BIG parks or in the costuming world, I was so excited. Well... they took the sweet Idaho girl and put her at the resort modeled after her home area, Fort Wilderness Campground, which is modeled after Yellowstone National Park. I did not care, I was 21 and I got to go to Disney World every day and Mickey Mouse was signing my paychecks! I received my undergraduate degree in K-8 Elementary Education with an emphasis in Humanities and a minor in Theatre Costume Design from Idaho State University in 2009. I taught for a couple of years in Pocatello and Fort Hall. I have taught every grade K-8, minus 4th grade.
After my son was born in 2011, my husband made us move to Livingston, Alabama, where he was a college professor of Theatre and Music, and I got to be a stay-at-home mom for 18 months. But I am one not to be idle for too long, and I went back to school and got my Master's Degree in Library Media Science and Technology from the University of West Alabama.
I have been living in Dillon for the past 13 years and enjoy the community. I have a wonderful husband, Anthony, son Jasper, and puppy, Ike, who enjoy everything Dillon. Last year, my hubby and I became a bigger part of our community by purchasing a now popular breakfast spot in town, JJ's Restaurant. You will see the three of us there on the weekends, treating the guests just like family. In my life, family and friends are the most important things, and that is my philosophy in life to treat everyone as if they were part of my family. Some days we fight, but the next day everything is fine.
