Rock Bottom Comics in downtown Columbia, Mo. is packed to the brim with comic books and comic merchandise. The store has been independently owned and operated since 1973 (Dike).

John Evans is Rock Bottom Comics' lone employee. He spends long hours at the store, putting his library science degree to use by helping customers find books that suit their interests, he said (Quick).
In addition to comic books, Rock Bottom Comics has a wide range of comic merchandise, including action figures and trading cards. While some of the figures are newer, the Fantastic Four figure (top row, second from right) is nearly 20 years old (Dike).
"Back issues" are older comic book editions that may not have the same demand as new releases. Rock Bottom Comics has thousands of back issues featuring hundreds of heroes and other characters (Dike).
