The Materials for eXtreme Environments Research Group expanded with the joining of Dr. Satish Kumar (Ph.D., IIT Kanpur) as a Project Associate-I under the ANRF-funded project, strengthening the group's research activities in next-gen materials for extreme environments at the Department of Metallurgical and Materials Engineering, IIT Roorkee.

🔬 J-PARC Neutron Diffraction Experiments
Dr Digvijay Singh (PI) travelled to J-PARC, Japan, to successfully conduct experiments at BL-19 TAKUMI, utilising in situ time-of-flight neutron diffraction to elucidate the cryogenic deformation behaviour and fatigue mechanisms of a next-gen Fe-Mn-Cr-Ni-Si alloy for extreme-cryogenic applications (down to 20 K).

Officially joined the Department of Metallurgical and Materials Engineering (MMED), Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee, as a Ramanujan Faculty Fellow.

Received the prestigious Ramanujan Faculty Fellowship from the ANRF, hosted at IIT Roorkee, with a project grant of INR 120 lakh to establish an independent research program in next-gen cryogenic materials.
