The research team of the college developed the simplex permanent magnet stepper motor for the actuator assembly of LVM-3 that controlled the rocket engine’s liquid fuel and oxidizer mixture ratio.

Civil Engineering has a special status in Engineering Education. Civil Engineering plays a key role in the development of other fields of Engineering. Civil Engineering is in the eighth year. At present, the strength of the department is around 400 students. The vision of Civil Engineering Department is to enhance the skills and capabilities of Civil Engineering students in all domains of Civil Engineering. AICTE-CII Award won in the year 2019 is the testimony for the department interaction with industry in large mode. Many research products were developed in center's and patented in the area of low cost construction materials. Students are explored and won in many national level competitions like Smart India Hackathon, AICTE-CII Best Industrial linked Department Award in 2017 and NDRF-IEI design competitions. 

Civil Department received three national awards in the year 2020, as another feather of cup. Dr. R. Malathy mentor of smart agriculture project received AICTE Vishveshrayya Best Teacher Award 2020 for the activities during 2020. AICTE Chatrya Vishwakarma Award 2020 for the activities during pandemic. Dr. R. Malathy and team received AICTE Lilavati Award 2021-22 "Winners" for Women Empowerment Under The Theme of Women Innovators with Cash Prize Rs.1 lakh at AICTE New Delhi From AICTE Chairman. Our Civil Engineering students bag first prize at National Level SMART India Hackathon continuously three times 2021, 2022 & 2023. Civil Department received Best IE(I) Students Chapter Award '23.  Dr. R. Malathy received Smt. Prabhawati Shahi Memorial National Award for the Best Outstanding Teacher in Civil Engineering. Civil Department has three research centers and three center of excellences which are actively working on thrust areas.
