AGILE LEADERSHIP & CHANGE
AGILE LEADERSHIP & CHANGE
An e-portfolio is a website which contains a wide range of digital files (documents, videos, sound clips etc) that your teams can use to showcase the skills and abilities they possess.
Whilst there are several different kinds of e-portfolio that people can make, for the purposes of this workshop we will be looking at how to create a portfolio which can evidence training & support received.
Therefore the target audience for these kinds of portfolios are other managers and members of the HR department and this should inform the writing style used within the portfolio.

Google Sites is a free service which allows anyone to create any number of websites.
You can develop the website by yourself or collaborate with others to create the content of the pages.
You can control who gets to access the site and who gets to edit it with you.
For the purposes of your e-portfolio though, we are going to assume that you will be the sole editor of the site and that the site will not be accessible to the general public via the internet.
It’s free and it’s easy to use.
You don’t need to know any web coding (HTML, CSS, Javascript etc).
You can collaborate with other users if you want to.
It is integrated with the other Google Apps and tools so you can easily share documents, spreadsheets, presentations, pdfs, videos, sound files and more.
While there are lots of different platforms that people can use to make an e-portfolio, the content and layout of the portfolios remain largely the same. An effective e-portfolio will usually contain...
This will be the first page visitors see and so it should introduce them to your e-portfolio, explaining what they will find within your site and what the purpose of your e-portfolio is (i.e. to demonstrate the skills and abilities you have developed and how you have successfully applied them within your role).
In addition, the welcome page should ideally contain a professional-looking photograph of yourself and also a paragraph which introduces yourself to the visitor.
This page should contain details of how peers and colleagues should contact you, along with links to your professional social media accounts (LinkedIn, Twitter etc).
Examples of such information might be:
Contact Details
Your full name
Photo (optional)
Work address
Phone number
Email address
This should consist of recent, relevant and impressive samples of your work.
It needs to demonstrate your core competencies, professional abilities, and technical skill-set.
Work examples can consist of writing samples, images, videos, audio recordings, apps, or any other tangible work product.
When selecting work samples to include, choose examples which:
Demonstrate how you have applied the CPD you have received.
Showcase technical skills you have developed or enhanced, such as familiarity with specific software programs or hardware.
Have numerical data that can be used as quantifiable evidence as to what you have achieved.

Professional awards and recognitions are a great addition to any CPD portfolio, especially if the CPD you received helped your team obtain the award.
You should include:
The level of the award (local or national)
What it was for,
Who it was from
This should detail all of the CPD you have received to date, including CPD from previous employers.
Aim to include details of:
Seminars
Industry certifications
Online courses
Workshops
For each, be sure to indicate the date on which the CPD took place, who delivered it and a brief description of the skills and abilities acquired as a result.
Testimonials and letters of recommendation from previous clients, employers, and mentors all provide excellent evidence of how you have successfully applied the CPD you have received.
