PROJECT OVERVIEW: Real Food Shropshire is based in Telford and although they are predominantly a catering company, they are looking to diversify by creating a live carshare app which offers a lift share service for goods and people. They are being given support by both Digital Solutions and CREST at the University Centre Shrewsbury. Digital Solutions is offering support on the technical side of app development and has created a web based prototype system using free and open source software tools / platforms. To offer additional specialised business support, Real Food Shropshire is also benefitting from our consultancy support to identify funding opportunities to support innovation and in accessing new markets or sectors.

PROJECT OBJECTIVES: The aim was to use our digital expertise and one-to-one business support, to turn the idea into a product ready for the testing stage.

PROJECT SOLUTIONS: A private project website was created to allow the company to access all documents and relevant information at any time. Our Lead Fellow Researcher then created a web based prototype app so the client could specify and visualise how the app would function. Together with the consultancy support provided by Evenwood and the digital solutions provided, Real Food Shropshire have reached a stage where they have reached a clear strategy for their next steps and the longer term support will be a collaborative approach, together with CREST.
