English Language Proficiency Standards (ELPS):
What does English Language Proficiency Standards (ELPS) mean? Standards that outline the instruction school district must provide ELLs in order for them to have the full opportunity to learn English and to succeed in their academics (Texas Education Agency Curriculum and Assessment for ELLS, 2009).
How does this affect general education teachers? Teachers can use this as a guideline in order to help make sure their lessons are affective for ELL and ELS students.
