Due Process:
What does Due Process mean? Due process hearings are used as a formal way to resolve disputes between the school and your child's education (Lee, 2021).
Where did this come from? The 14th Amendment of the Constitution promises everyone in the U.S. "due process of law." This means every individual has the right to be treated fairly by people in positions of authority. For example, teachers, school administrators, police, etc. (ALCU, 2017.)
How does this affect general education teachers? Due process helps to ensure that teachers and students are treated fairly and that their rights should never be violated.
