Admission, Review, Dismissal (ARD) :
What does ARD mean?- ARD stands for admission, review, and dismissal. An ARD is a committee that holds a meeting in order to develop, review or revise an Individualized Education Program (IEP) (Above and Beyond Caring, 2023).
How does this affect general education teachers? An ADR meeting is a specific meeting where teachers and other support staff bring their expertise on education and the parent brings their expertise on their child (Mwarfield, 2022). This includes your expectations for your child's learning, your child's needs, and desires. Together, you are responsible for creating/writing the student's IEP.
