My name is Julianne Maciel or as my students call me "Mrs. M."
I am currently a Middle School teacher in the Adelanto Elementary School District. I currently teach 7th and 8th grade English Language Arts, ELA Support classes, and 6th grade Life Skills. Previously, I've taught 9th grade English.
I graduated from Cal Poly Pomona with a Bachelors in English Education and minor in Teaching English as a Second Language in 2018. The following year, I received my Single Subject Teaching Credential.
I proudly call myself a "book nerd" and have loved books for as long as I can remember. As Stephen King says, "books are a uniquely portable magic" and I agree wholeheartedly. Many people see books as simply pages with words, but I see them as adventures, heart breaks, new loves, and experiences like no other. Whether you're reading a Children's book, a graphic novel, or the captions on the tv, reading can be a magical experience that opens your eyes to a world awaiting your visit.
