The DIGITALMINERAL laboratory serves as a digital platform for studying microstructures of multicomponent alloys, functional materials and energy storage materials at multiscales. Especially, the evolution of microstructure phases and composition profile owing to the different types of thermodynamic driving forces (chemical, electrical, elastoplastic, thermal etc.) and application of moving heat source conditions such as laser heat during 3D printing constitute the research topics of our research group. The current works are aimed at establishing multiscale, multiphysics and (generative and/or discriminative ) machine learning models for description of (i) experimental laser processing on pure component, binary and multicomponent alloy microstructures, (ii) dendrite growth and inhibition processes in Lithium ion batteries consisting of solid or liquid electrolytes. More details about our research works can be found in the Research Highlights page.
