Ontario Youth Apprenticeship Program (OYAP) Co-op Experience – 146 Hours
During my 146-hour co-op placement through the Ontario Youth Apprenticeship Program (OYAP), I gained valuable hands-on experience in information technology and hardware technology. This opportunity allowed me to apply my technical knowledge in real-world scenarios while developing problem-solving and troubleshooting skills crucial to the field.
My responsibilities included diagnosing and repairing computer hardware, assembling and configuring systems, and assisting with network setup and maintenance. Working with experienced professionals, I learned to identify hardware issues, replace components, and optimize system performance. Additionally, I gained exposure to software installations, operating system configurations, and data management practices.
This experience reinforced my passion for technology and deepened my understanding of hardware and IT infrastructure. It also enhanced my ability to work efficiently in a technical environment, collaborate with others, and adapt to new challenges. The hands-on learning I received through OYAP has been instrumental in shaping my career aspirations in computer engineering.
