Some of my selected works
For the subject of Linguistics II in 2nd Year, this term paper consisted on providing a word log analysis of 25 words, including word formation process, meanings, syntactic category and other definitions. I enjoyed working on this assignment because of the fact that learning a language is also possible through TV series, movies, books or any other source in which there is exposure of the target language.
The reason I chose this file is because of the fact that the 25 words will help me to help to showcase new words to students, specifically the ones that are not common in written texts, but are used in real-life examples. The examples will be provided from the term paper.
Word Log
Brief Presentation
I chose this assignment that I worked with Iván for the General Pedagogy subject in 2nd Year, it was pretty valuable for me learning about these theorists, specifically the one we selected, which was Lev Vygotsky, in our presentation we covered some aspects about his ideas, and methods, which are useful for learning a second language. Overall, the reason for choosing it is because I believe his methods can be useful for my teaching experience with young learners.
This was task for the subject of Educational Psychology in 2nd Year, we had to record a video explaining about Inclusive Education, as well as we had to provide a brief explanation of its context in our country.
I chose this due to the importance of this topic, and each educator should be aware of it and how it takes place in one´s country. In our country, it is a complex situation in which students with special needs are almost neglected from the educational program, and it is mainly because of the lack of preparation from teachers and unsafe environments that they may face at schools.
For the subject of Didactics I in 3rd Year, I worked with Aline, we chose the topic "Teaching Listening" since it is one of the fundamental skills that are learned to acquire a foreign language. The handout covered important points about teach listening, because it is a topic that is relevant in the process of language acquisition.
This file demonstrates achievement because I am able to spot important features about the importance of teaching listening, as well as key methods for its application, since it is a skill that sometimes tend to be forgotten.
This was an assignment for the Language Pedagogy subject in 3rd Year. Each of us had to select one teaching method and present the main ideas and the theorist behind the method.
I selected the teaching method Multiple Intelligence developed Howard Gardner, due to the fact that it is thought to be current and relevant in some educational contexts, as well as because the author clarified key ideas about how the learning process works in classrooms with students of various intelligences. After reading about his theory, I want to apply his methods when it comes to differentiate students´ process. Nonetheless, it is tough to please all types of learners, but there are some aspects which are mentioned in his teaching method that I might include in my teaching journey.
The Sign Language Project was an interesting and significant experience. At first, I was insecure and worry about how to approach it to language teaching and how we could deliver a good and useful content for everyone. Nonetheless, with the group we were able to record and deliver a video that we are proud of. As a matter of fact, it took a lot of practice for each of us, but we had fun practicing and recording together our respective parts, as well as learning from each other due to the fact that we saw each other after a long time.
It is possible to say that the project connected us even more, because we thought and reflected about the importance of sign language and its application in any context, as well as we are proud that our class was the first one that opened the door for other opportunities related to sign language. Overall, it was a valuable experience and the learning process of it during the classes was wonderful, studying a little bit about sign language helped me to develop a stronger appreciation for deaf culture.
For the subject Curriculum, we had a semester project, which was a rewarding experience. Our semester assignment involved researching about curriculum in an international setting and comparing it. With the group in which I was, we decided to research about Pakistan, so as to compare it with Paraguay and United States. The scenarios and curricular discrepancies we discovered among the three countries are some of the significant issues raised. In contrast to Paraguay, which has a national curriculum, and Pakistan, which is in the process of creating one, the United States has various curriculum for each state.
The reason I chose this is because it was great and pretty informative being able to identify certain aspects of the curriculum programs of the countries we selected, as well as we were able to identify some similarities and differnces and discuss about them, taking into account what we have been learning.
This was a recent assigment for the subject of Teaching Practice II - 4th year. This topic definitely caught my attention because of the fact that it was my first time reading about Paraprofessionals, which act as a support system for tudents who need it.
Because of its significance for the educational setting and the fact that few people in our nation are aware of paraprofessionals' contributions to inclusive education, I chose this topic. They can also help those students who have special needs, and it's crucial to help our nation's educational system become more inclusive in general.
