My professional goal is to become an adaptive educational technology leader who connects schools, school media centers, museums, archives, and communities through technology and authentic research experiences. I envision school media centers as spaces where students can access primary sources, explore cultural collections, conduct research, and create knowledge rather than simply consume it.
A major part of my long-term vision is developing a school–museum partnership model that goes beyond traditional field trips. I want students, particularly at the high school level, to work directly with museum educators and archivists, access collections, conduct original research, and create projects such as digital exhibitions and presentations. My own experience as an independent researcher has shown me how difficult it can be to access and navigate museum archival resources without institutional support. That experience motivates me to make these resources more accessible to students.
The photograph accompanying this page above was taken during my visit to the Barbados Museum in 2024, where I encountered a research book documenting plants. I think of that page as a small representation of what I hope to do as a leader which is to preserve what has already grown while creating opportunities for new knowledge to take root. Just as a plant can carry a history of place, an archive can carry the history of people, cultures, and ideas. My goal is to help students learn how to find those stories, study them, and add their own contributions to the larger landscape of knowledge.
My long-term goals include developing school–museum partnerships, creating digital archival learning experiences, presenting and publishing my work, and eventually working within a museum or cultural institution. These plans are intentionally subject to change as my interests, research, and experiences develop. Like the plant represented in the archival book, I see professional growth as something living and evolving: rooted in what I have already learned, but continually reaching toward something new.
