HOWEVER by pulling the camera open, I found that the chip is a SN9C201. Some searching led to this DriverScape page, which contains drivers for the Lenovo ThinkPad Z61 Webcam. Installing those drivers allows the microscope to work all the way up to Windows 10.

A key benefit of using a digital microscope is the wide range of microscope software that you can use as part of your inspection. On some microscopes, this software runs on a separate computer and in order for the software to work, you need a digital microscope driver.

If you need to discuss a sample with a colleague or business partner who is not available for a physical meeting, you can share the microscope live image during an online meeting. This allows both of you to see what is happening underneath the microscope without being in the same room or sending the sample back and forth for individual inspections.

This is a battery powered microscope, which sounds pretty handy - no need to have yet another cord running around your workbench. Plus, you can save images and video to a micro SD card for later review (though the aspect ratio on the images, as saved, is wrong).

With the screws out, everything just pulls apart. The ribbon cable is folded under the backing plate to allow for easy vertical movement. If you feel the need to pull your microscope apart, be sure to replicate the fold when you put it back together to allow movement.

I can not find the vendor or any general driver for mac. I tried to install manycam, as someone suggested here: -webcam-support-limited-by-apples-uvc-driver-partially-solved/?page=7 - it gave the same result as 'Photo Booth'/Facetime, but now with the message "unknown error".

Apparently the microscope came with software on a small CD. I do not have any CD drive, so I threw it out long time ago. Also - I do not know if there is anything for mac on the CD!? -or anything useful!? I am unable to find it anywhere online.

Fluorescence Microscope Drivers Gen 3 are all integrated drivers that control the video acquisition, and include the light sources. They are designed to be used with efocus Fluorescence Microscope Bodies Gen 3 (eTFMB3, eTOSFM3).

So is it easy to use? Yes, definitely. Jack and Steve spent ages discovering the world around them. Jack would happily have sat there for hours sorting it. To set it up, you simply have to plug in the attached USB lead to your chosen device and install the included software. This sets it up so you can see the detail of your samples in real time on a big screen. You can keep the microscope on the stand to keep it steady or take it off to look freely. There are eight LEDs to keep your samples illuminated whilst looking at them.

It is important to let you know that Intel Play brand has been discontinued by Intel In March 2002, and it was sold and re-branded under Digital Blue, part of the Prime Entertainment holding company. The QX3 microscope, while discontinued, can still be found for sale online. It has since been replaced by the QX5 and QX7, which are both based on and build upon the original design from Intel Play. This information and more details can be found at the following website:

I'm in the same boat. I bought the microscope 15-20 years ago, liked it but the plastic gears meant it couldn't hold focus even at the lowest magnification. Got divorced, stored stuff in dad's garage. Dad died, emptied garage, found my microscope.

Try the old drivers in compatibility mode , you might get lucky. Just right click on file, click compatibility mode and spin the wheel to see if it works.. By spin the wheel i mean pick an OS to try and see if it works

Without going through and listing X number of Microscopes I can tell you that most USB microscopes are simply cameras attached to lenses. Checking through the Hardware Support section of the Ubuntu Wiki also yields no mention of Microscope support.

I've seen positive things about the Veho USB microscope under Linux. It appears to behave like any other UVC-video-compliant device in that it should "just work" these days. It should present as a video input device so you should be able to use it anywhere you'd use a webcam (Cheese, Flash online, etc).

I installed the program and the driver. I ran the 64 bit driver as well. The camera shows up in device manager, but the software cannot initialize the microscope. In the Driver folder there is Vista driver, which is where the 64 bit driver is, I am curious if this driver works on Windows 7 and if people were able to get this software package to work on Windows 7?

Yes! I found my copy of the original CD for the GE5. The version is Scopeimage 9.01 and it runs on a 32 bit XP machine if you stick to the same USB port (or reinstall the driver). I have not tried any other OS, so far.

The viewer starts in Chinese menus but if you prefer English its under the fourth tab from the left, third item down after the chevrons (?)

The whole disk is about 92Mb uncompressed and I will share if anyone still wants a copy.

Thanks for the driver. My AIGO G5 is now working. One point to note is that most of the PC is now running an OS with 64 bit, the driver will not work. So, we need to find an os with 32 bit to operate the scope.

This is a really great microscope for general and hobby use! I have had TOMLOV DM602 Pro 10.1" HDMI Digital Microscope since August and have used it a few time to take photos and video. I bought to use to take photos of two very different objects, coins and carnivorous plants. Great for closeups and full coin imaging. Connects easily via HDMI to televisions for greater magnification. Takes photos easily too!

Soldering was the main reason I purchase this but the additional "D" lens is such a great feature for exploring features of tiny insects and plants in great detail. I even found a parasite on the fruit fly specimen that came with the microscope. Yes it comes with several specimen of insects and plants, normal things that you'll see everyday but under a microscope it's a whole different level.

A must for anyone interested into insects. It is lightweight and portable. The internal rechargeable battery means you dont need power. It runs entirely on 5V USB. I can run this item for hours of a jump starter or battery bank. The 10 inch screen is perfect and the 25 MP camera provides great resolution. A little hint, get the macro lens! The picture shows the bee at 4x digital zoom. It goes all the way to 8x. You simply press the left or right arrows on the monitor to activate.

I bought a USB microscope from eBay that wasn't supposed to work with Windows 10 but it did. It's supposed to be for XP, Vista and 7 (32bit and 64bit). It's a generic Chinese plug and play device that isn't supposed to require a driver to work. It comes with a driver CD in case it didn't work automatically.

I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the driver on the CD. I right clicked the driver and chose Compatibility Mode Windows 7. I tried Compatibility Mode XP (Service pack 3) and the driver installed for 15 minutes (instead of a few minutes) and asked me to reboot as usual but that didn't work either. Instead Device Manager is showing '(Code 18) reinstall driver'. The driver is an InstallScript Setup Launcher so it can't be found.

Driver Management concluded the process to install driver aveodcnt_64.inf_amd64_95dd8c9e1ab283da\aveodcnt_64.inf for Device Instance ID USB\VID_1871&PID_7670&MI_00\6&9DB860&0&0000 with the following status: 0xE0000234.

Welcome to the world of Windows 10. Unfortunately the drivers included with the device will only work up to Windows 7 or possibly 8. Your only hope is to either wait for Windows 10 to supply a driver or revert back to Windows 7 if the upgrade was less than 30 days.

I did a search on the Vendor and Device ID and could not find a Windows 10 driver but I did find the search led me to this page. I can't say the software will install a Windows 10 driver or not. It is up to you if you want to download.

Edit: This is the problem I have with Windows 10. Microsoft specifically says that Windows 10 will be free until your device is no longer supported. Any major Windows 10 update can render your device such as your microscope or printer useless. Since it is no longer supported, you are expected to purchase a new one. With all previous versions of Windows, you knew your device would work until end of support and in this case Windows 7 end of support is 2020 which is another 4 years from now. Personally, if I had a Windows 7 computer, I would refuse the upgrade if I knew I would be purchasing a new computer after 2020.

If your computer has enough RAM then you could install XP using a VM like Virtual Box or VM Player. It would depend on if the VM had the proper USB drivers for the microscope to be detected. Maybe a used laptop with XP would be the better choice. You could probably pick one up for less than a license of XP on ebay.

I just tried this microscope on a Windows 7 64 bit laptop and got the same problem. When I plugged it in, it said it was installing the software, then I got 'Device driver software was not successfully installed'.

On the microscope's driver disc auto.exe, there's a dotnetfx button. When I hover the mouse pointer over it, it says 'Net Framework'. At the end of the manual it states, 'Please click dotnetfx to continue when the NET Framework 2.0 is necessary'.

Does the driver disk include other software for the microscope? That may require .NET Framework 2 to run but I am not sure why to would need .NET to install a driver? It's possible the 32bit version of WIndows 7 had .NET Framework 2 or the driver that installs when attached is only 32bit compatible. On the disk do you see any folders listed as 32bit or 64bit with an included .inf file?

Hi, the driver file has an .exe extension. I opened WinRAR and chose the driver.exe file. If I hit 'Extract To' I get a pop up stating 'No archives found in selected files or folders'. Was that what you meant by extract the contents?

I am pretty much out of ideas on this one, sorry. It's possible some update on Windows 10 caused the problem of it no longer being detected. That is one of the problems with Windows 10, forced updates which also included drivers if you do not disable that feature. e24fc04721
