3D Printing in the Robarts Digital Studio

Want to know how a 3D digital model uses bondable materials such as plastic or powdered metal to create objects by stacking them layer by layer? The 3D printers at the Robarts Digital Studio use PLA (polylactic acid), a biodegradable thermoplastic aliphatic polyester derived from corn starch. It's safe to use in the space.

Virtual Experience - Google Arts and Culture site

Play and Creativity

Minecraft

Minecraft is a sandbox video game developed by Mojang Studios. In Minecraft, players explore a blocky, procedurally generated 3D world. With different kinds of blocks, they can imitate plains, mountains, rivers, and other landforms. In an almost infinite variety of terrain, we can build our homeland. The game is also used in educational settings to teach chemistry, computer-aided design, and computer science. The world's top universities organize their Minecraft clubs to make replicas of their school buildings. Above is a map of the city of Toronto that players have created for replication.

We sincerely invite you to participate in POEMPORTRAITS - an experimental collective artwork. The creation was conceived by artist and designer Es Devlin in collaboration with Google Arts & Culture Lab and creative technologist Ross Goodwin. By donating a word, the AI algorithm will generate two unique lines of poetry. The algorithm contains 25 million words of poetry from the 19th century.
