Professor Ira Prodanov, university teaching professional - a full time professor at Univ. of Novi Sad, Academy of Arts - for more info click here.
Ira will discuss with us the topic below:
The crisis in higher education was evident before COVID-19. Outdated curricula, slow accreditation, new student and lecturer lifestyles, and emerging technologies (Steel, 2015) spurred innovation in teaching. Blended learning, particularly virtual exchange, has shown great potential. The EUGLOH project (https://www.eugloh.eu/) exemplifies this by creating a "campus for global health."
The course "Communication and Presentation Skills in the Professional Environment" serves as a case study. Students from six European universities participated through online lectures and a live workshop in Novi Sad. A post-course questionnaire evaluated the process, highlighting how virtual exchange can overcome language and cultural barriers. This course also introduced "accessible communication" and reinforced efforts to improve online teaching methods for academic staff.
