Media Literacy
In our highly media-saturated society, media literacy is the ability to identify different types of media and understand the messages they convey. It involves the skills to access, analyze, evaluate, create, and communicate using information in various formats. However, implementing a standardized approach to media integration in schools can be challenging due to variations in school needs, available digital resources, and the backgrounds of students and teachers.
This brings us to the issue of young children who own smartphones and are exposed to countless advertisements daily, which can result in their limited awareness of advertising. As a teacher it is your responsibility to ensure that media literacy is integrated effectively in the classroom. As a teacher you can teach strategies' for distinguishing reliable sources from misinformation or fake news. This will help develop leaners' critical thinking skills to help them analyze and evaluate online information. In addition you can form a group to encourage leaners to become active media creators and teach them how to responsiblely produce and share content
