Later, the crew had rented a hotel in Underwater City. Evander and Jessica shared a room with their Digimon. Evander walked out of the bathroom in a blue shirt, boxer shorts, and a towel around his neck that he had used to dry off. His hair was wet. He had just gotten a shower. So much had happened in the last 48 hours. Although it was only two days, to him and Jessica, it felt longer. Evander looked over to see Jessica on a device talking to someone. "Who is she communicating with?" Evander thought. "Smartphones can't reach people in the real world from The Digital World." Jessica was talking to her mother Victoria on the phone. "I know you cheated on your husband and that Ahab is my real father." Jessica said. Jessica said she 'knew' but in reality, she was bringing this up to her mother for confirmation. A denial wasn't evidence that the visions they had seen were false, but if she admitted it, that would be powerful evidence of their validity. People don't lie about things to make themselves look bad, if they're going to lie, they will lie to make themselves look good. Victoria hid her face from the web camera. "I'm so ashamed. I was hoping you'd never find that out." She said. "So how much of what you told me yesterday was true?" Jessica asked. "All of it except for Ahab's motives. Ahab's real motive in his coup was to get revenge on me and to take custody of you. But everything else I told you was true." Victoria explained. They were both silent for a moment. Jessica looked disappointed. "I did a horrible thing to Ahab, and I did you wrong by keeping your true past and heritage a secret from you. It must have been The Greatest Spirit's will that I be removed from the throne. I wasn't fit morally to be queen." Victoria said. Aqualians had religion. But unlike much of Earth's population, they were all almost consistently monotheistic. Almost. A minority who weren't worshipped those in the Poseidon line as gods just as the Greeks on Earth did. They also believed in a Creator who was omnipotent, omniscient, omnipresent, morally perfect, and uncreated. But unlike Jews and Christians stationed on Earth, their theology of this being was shallow. They didn't even have a name for him. They just referred to him as "The Greatest Spirit" or sometimes "The Greatest Of All Spirits". They were more akin to Earth's deists.
Silence continued to fill the room. Evander felt that their air was dense. "You hate me, don't you?" Victoria asked. "No, Mom. I could never hate you." Jessica said. "How can you say that after you found out what I've done? I've committed adultery, murder, and as a result, I was forced to remove you from your rightful home. You'd probably be queen right now if it weren't for me, rather than living as an ordinary Earth woman." Victoria said. Jessica shook her head and smiled. "First of all, I love Earth. And if you hadn't brought me here, I probably wouldn't have met Evander. I mean, since we were both Chosen Children, we probably would have met here in the Digital World, but once our task was finished, we would have gone our separate ways. Secondly…" Jessica said before pausing to gather her thoughts. "Do you remember that time when I was 7 and I had stolen a toy from the toy store? The security guard caught me and I got into a lot of trouble. I was so ashamed of what I'd done. You gave me a good scolding when we got home. I asked if you could still love me since I was a thief. Do you remember what you said?" Jessica asked. Victoria stopped hiding her face and looked into the web camera. "I said 'I will love you always even if you do things I disapprove of. No matter what you do or who you become, my love for you will never falter'." She recalled. Jessica smiled and said "That goes both ways. Besides, if I don't forgive you for your faults, how can I expect others to forgive me?" She said. Victoria started crying tears of joy. It was like a nearly 30 year burden had been lifted off her shoulders.
Jessica was lying on top of the bed sheets with still nothing on her torso but her clamshells, and nothing on the bottom but her Aqualian loincloth. She had dried off though before getting up there, knowing that they'd be sleeping there for the night. Jessica ended the call and Evander walked over and sat on the bed next to her. "How were you able to contact your Mom here in the Digital World?" Evander asked. "Samantha hacked some specifically Aquallian software onto my phone that boosts the signal a million times over. She's actually become quite skilled with technology." Jessica explained. Jessica also said "Also, the MarineAngemon who runs this place issued an apology for unleashing the Gesomon and Divermon on us earlier. He said that Agent Salvation made him do it. He took hostages." Jessica explained.
Evander's eyes widened and his mouth dropped. "Ah crap!" He said loudly. Jessica looked startled. "What? What's wrong?" She asked. "We forgot to ask Jijimon about the spyware causing Kinandon to track us!" Evander said. Evander then put his arms behind his head, laid back and looked up at the ceiling. "Although given that that was just Agent Salvation's lackie, I guess it doesn't matter. Still, how could we be so absentminded?" Evander said.
The Digimon were all lying in a separate bed adjacent to them. They were fast asleep. Jessica smiled as she looked at the six Rookie level Digimon all snoozing away. Agumon had a little snot bubble in his nose that slightly inflated and deflated as he breathed. "They've had a long day. Fighting Hydramon took a lot out of them physically and I'm sure that 500 Gesomon incident took a toll on them mentally." Jessica said. "I don't think we're going to find the person who impersonated you anytime in the near future. We should make preventing the coming war between Earth and Aqualia our top priority. You heard what that shadowy figure said; he plans to use you as an agent of Aqualia's destruction." Evander said. Although Jessica wanted the person who framed her to be brought to justice. They agreed. They then turned off the lights and got in bed. Evander spooned with Jessica.
Jessica then found herself on Aqualia. She was in mermaid form with a golden crown on her head, a metal dark green breast plate covering her breasts, and dark green shoulder armor. She was levitating in the air above the oceans of Aqualia and she was swinging a trident around. Her body glowed in a golden aura and her eyes glowed aqua blue. Every time she swung the trident, a tidal wave came and took out Aqualian soldiers and multiple Mega level Digimon on the nearby continent. Unfortunately, this also destroyed countless buildings and took the lives of non-combatants. She raised her hand and the ground shook, opened up, and swallowed hundreds of Aqualian soldiers before the chasm closed up. Jessica then dove into the ocean where more Aqualian soldiers were waiting. The previous soldiers were in humanoid form. These had tails. Jessica swung her trident around above her head like a baton and it swept up the soldiers along with the Digimon who aided them. Jessica caused the ground to shake again as more soldiers charged towards her. The ocean floor opened up and Jessica cried out "Devour them!" before a huge legion of Tylomon swam out of the casm from a digital portal below and ripped the Aqualian soldiers to shreds. Jessica smilled. Unfortunately, the earthquake she caused destroyed a bunch of buildings. Jessica flew out of the water and floated down to the ground and put her trident aside. "I won. Earth is safe." She said. She then heard a groaning sound. "Jessica! What have you done!?" She turned and looked to see a bloodied Evander crushed by a fallen palm tree, with 3 Digi Eggs near him. "You destroyed the entire planet! Everything's ruined! You've even killed Agumon, Ladybugmon, and Terriermon! See their Digi-Eggs!" Evander cried out before his skin melted off of his body, revealing his skelton underneath. Jessica looked horrified and screamed. The skeleton that was once Evander said "Your power is a curse! You should have learned to control it better! Everything is destroyed just as Agent Salvation wanted!" The horrified Jessica turned around and swam down into the ocean, she looked around and saw Aqualian cities lying in shambles. Under one fallen piece of rubble was a limp arm hanging out with a woman nearby weeping. "My son! My son!" She cried out. The woman turned to Jessica and said "Haven't you caused enough destruction!? Get out of here!" She said. Jessica trembled. "I...I'm sorry. I...I didn't mean to. I…" All of a sudden, hundreds of skeletons popped up out of the ground around her. The skeletons looked human in the top half, but the bottom half formed what looked like tails. The skeletons had their hands all over Jessica, grabbing her face, her arms, her breasts, her tail, any part of her they could manage to grab. "Destroyer! Destroyer! Destroyer! Destroyer!" They chanted. "Goddess of death." One merskeleton said. "No! I'm not a destroyer!" Jessica objected. "Goddess of destruction." Another one chanted. The skeletons began pulling Jessica down into a pit. "No! I didn't mean to! I only wanted to defeat the army to prevent Earth from being conquered! Let go of me, please!" She pleaded. "LET GO OF ME!" She shouted. She looked around and saw that she was in the hotel room in Underwater City in the Digital World. Jessica's entire body was covered in a cold sweat. Jessica had screamed that last sentence in her sleep, waking everyone up.
Evander placed his hand on Jessica's shoulder. "It was just a nightmare." Evander said. Jessica quickly looked over to Evander, who was no longer a decaying zombielike creature. Agumon, Terriermon, and the other Digimon were just fine. They hadn't been reverted back to DigiEggs after all. It was indeed just a nightmare. Jessica nodded. She was breathing very heavily. "Yeah. It was only a bad dream." She said. Ladybugmon flew over to Jessica. "I hate bad dreams! I once dreamed that I had a big mountain of cookies, but a giant Numemon came and ate them all!" Ladybugmon said. Evander raised an eyebrow. THAT was an example of a nightmare for him? Ladybugmon landed in Jessica's lap. "Do you want me to sleep next to you? When I have a bad dream, I always want someone to sleep next to me." Ladybugmon said. Evander knew Ladybugmon meant well, but expected Jessica to turn down the offer. After all, she wasn't a little girl. "I would like that." She said to Evander's surprise. Gabumon walked over and got in the bed too, accidentally jumping on Evander in the process. "You're MY tamer! I should sleep next to you too!" He said. Leormon and Pawnchessmon also came along, also stepping on poor Evander in order to get to their partner. "There's no better protector than a lion." Leormon said. "And I'll be your knight in shining armor." Pawnchessmon said. Agumon and Terriermon got up from the bed they were sleeping on too. Evander and Jessica's bed was on the left side of the room while the Digimon bed on the right side of the room. Yet again, the Digimon stepped on Evander, who was sleeping on the right side of the bed, to get to Jessica, who had been sleeping on the left side of the bed. "We'll help too. If any evil Digimon attacks you in your dreams, I'll merge with Gabumon to become Omnimon!" Agumon said as his excuse for coming along. "As one famous Terriermon once said, 'momentai'." Terriermon said.
"Thank you." Jessica said as she embraced the Digimon. Jessica still felt uneasy. Was that dream just an inner manifestation of her fears or was it a prophecy? Jessica was torn about her new godly powers. She was both happy to have them but she also feared them. She wanted to do like Evander suggested and use them for good, but what if she goes overboard, not knowing her own strength? She'd be playing right into the hands of Agent Salvation. If they couldn't prevent war, and they fought the Aqualian army, could she end up destroying everything without meaning to?
The next day, Evander and the crew were standing outside of the hotel. The sun was shining down onto the ocean water above the domed city. Jessica was wearing her usual long sleeved shirt in two shades of blue and green pants. MarineAngemon had returned them to her after he found them in one of the Submarimon cockpits. Samantha pulled a Digi-Worm phone out of her pocket. "This Digi-Worm phone should open a portal to not only the real world, but should also take us to Aqualia." Samantha said. Evander looked concerned. "How can we come along? We can't breathe underwater." Evander said. "I have the coordinates set for Poseidon Island. It's one of Aqualia's few landmasses. It's very close to the castle and you'll be able to breathe the oxygen there. I'll grab some equipment for you to breathe underwater, but you're to stay on the island unless this goes south." Samantha explained. "Scuba Equipment?" Agumon asked. "More like artificial gills. They were invented for other planetary visitors like those from Devillis, Felinia, etc." Samantha explained.
Samantha opened a portal and everyone stepped into it. They found themselves on Poseidon Island, the island nearest to the castle. Evander was amazed. "Incredible. It looks like an Earth island." Evander said. Jessica immediately pulled her shirt off revealing the clamshells covering her breasts underneath. She then took her green pants off revealing the Aquallian loincloth. Samantha did the same. Evander chuckled, "This woman just can't keep her clothes on." He joked. He wanted Jessica to laugh, but she was silent. Something was obviously wrong with her. She had been different ever since she had that nightmare last night. At breakfast, she barely spoke a word. He had tried to make conversation with her at breakfast, but she only responded with stock responses like "Yeah", "Mmhmm." or "Interesting." Evander frowned and rubbed the back of his head. "Is she mad at me?" Evander thought. Women were complicated sometimes. He had wondered if he said or did something that upset her, but that he just was unable to figure it out. But she wasn't mad at him at all. She was anxious. Especially now that she was entering the very capital where someone who assumed her physical form had committed mass murder and treason. Evander knew how serious their situation was, but he was just trying to lighten the mood.
Samantha had gone into an underwater town nearby and bought artificial gills. Once she had given one to Evander and all of the Digimon, they turned around and walked into the ocean until they were out far enough that the water reached their waists. Jessica turned around to Evander, and the Digimon, still very serious in her demeanor. "Gabumon, Leormon, Pawnchessmon, put your artificial gills on and come with us for protection. Evander, If we're not back in one hour, you and your Digimon are to come after us. I'm sure your Megas can brute strength their way through and bust us out of whatever prison we're in." Jessica said. "Assuming they don't kill us on the spot." She added.
They turned their legs into mermaid tails and went under. Jessica's Digimon and Samantha's Betamon followed. Jessica was wearing a satchel around her waist that contained her Digivice.
Jessica and Samantha swam in an underwater town. Some merboys were playing nearby, each playing handheld video games. Jessica felt uneasy. "Someone is bound to notice me." She said, glancing over at Samantha. They were soon at the castle gate. "So, we just go through the front door?" Gabumon asked. Samantha reached into the satchel around her waist and pulled out a device. "No. We're going to use a shape change device." She said. Jessica's eyebrows shot up. "How? The only ones left in existence are the ones my mother and father have, and the one the assassin had." Jessica said. Samantha smiled and fiddled the object in her hand. "I built these myself." She said. "Wow, Samantha! You really are amazing!" Betamon said. They used the devices to change their form. Jessica became a woman with short pink hair and pink colored eyes. The pink clamshells covering her breasts were now pink starfish. Samantha shifted into a woman with long brown hair and brown eyes. Gabumon assumed the form of a lean merman with light blue hair that had dark blue highlights, the same color scheme as his and Garurumon's fur coat. He was bare chested save for a yellow vest he had on. Leormon became a merman with a golden yellow tail and long blonde hair. Pawnchessmon became a merman with silvery yellow hair and a golden vest on. Betamon took the form of a merman with dark red hair. Jessica looked over at Gabumon and some blood gushed out of her nostrils. She blushed while covering her nose and mouth with her hands. "What?" He said, sounding completely different than before. "He's…..hot! Why did he have to be hot!? This is my Digimon I'm thinking about! I shouldn't be thinking about Gabumon like this!" Jessica thought to herself. Leormon put his hand on Gabumon's shoulder. "She's just not used to seeing you look like a member of her species." Leormon said. Leormon was as ripped as his Champion form Leomon. More blood gushed out of Jessica's nose. "Holy crap! Leormon is hot too!" She exclaimed mentally. Gabumon swam over and took Jessica by the hands. "I see. Well, if it helps. Just think of this as like an alternate digivolution for me." He said, smiling. Jessica blushed some more. She couldn't believe how incredibly attractive Gabumon's disguise was. Pawnchessmon put his arm around Jessica's neck. "Yeah! Pawnchessmon digivolve to...MermanChessmon! Although….there's no merman chess piece." He said. Jessica was still blushing. Pawnchessmon had become attractive too.
Samantha folded her arms. "We need to come up with alternative names for ourselves too.
Gabumon, you'll be called Gabriel.
Leormon, your alias will be Leon.
Pawnchessmon, your alias will be Chester.
Betamon, your alias will be Brendon.
Jessica, your alias will be Jennifer."
They headed for the castle. "Hello! King Kinandon! Come out!" the disguised Gabumon said, waving his now humanoid arms in the air. "Yo! Come out!" The merman looking Betamon said. There was a speaker near the entrance. A voice came out of the speaker. "Who goes there? Do you have an appointment with the king?" a male voice from the speaker said. Jessica went to twirl her orange hair with her index finger, a habit of hers, but realized it was now pink and way too short to twirl around. "We don't, but it's urgent business." Jessica said. Her voice now sounded different too. She both looked and sounded like a completely different woman. "If you are not scheduled to see the king, then be on your way. He is very busy." Jessica put her hand on her scaly hip and began floating towards the communication box. "My name is Jennifer Anniston. I'm an ambassador sent from Earth. I'm here to negotiate with the king. We don't need to go to war." Jessica said. There was a camera near the speaker. The man on the other side of the communication box asked "What proof do you have of your identity?" Jessica...or...Jennifer, stopped right in her tracks. She didn't answer. She couldn't answer. Samantha swam closer to Jessica and took what looked like a billfold out of her satchel. "Oh, Jessica. You dropped your ID." Samantha said. Jennifer/Jessica looked at Samantha with a confused expression on her face. What was she talking about? She opened the fold and saw nothing but a white sheet of paper. She looked down at the paper and then at Samantha, still quizzically. Samantha just looked her in the eyes and nodded. What was Samantha up to? How would this blank piece of paper in a wallet serve as confirmation that she was the so-called ambassador for Earth? She decided to trust her and held up the black billfold to the camera above the speaker. The male voice said. "Yes! That is a Galactic Enterprise approved ID badge, all right." he said. Jessica was stunned. Was the other guy on the end of this communication serious? Samantha held up a blank piece of paper of her own, "And I'm her secretary. I handle all of Miss Annison's needs." Samantha lied. "But...who are those men with you?" Jessica had to think of an answer quickly. "They're my…..harem." She said. The expression on Samantha's face and on the faces of the Digimon-turned-mermen were priceless.
The gates headed to the castle courtyard opened and the man on the other side of the communication told them to come in. They did. They swam up to the door entering the castle.
"What was that?" Jessica asked. "Just a little thing I called Image Mind Application Paper or IMAP for short. It causes people to see whatever you want them to see." Samantha explained. "Like the Psychic Paper from Doctor Who." Jessica observed. "Doctor Who?" Samantha asked. "Yes, exactly." Jessica replied. "Who?" Samantha asked in confusion. "Yes, Doctor Who." "Doctor Who?" "Yes, Doctor Who." Samantha's eyebrows furrowed. She was silent for a moment. "Who?" She asked, shrugging with two open palms out.
Kinandon opened the door to greet them. "Hello, Miss Ambassador. I, King Kinandon Neptune, welcome you to my castle." Kinandon said. There were several guards nearby with those storm trooper esque armor suits and ray guns at their side. It was important that the king have his security by him at all times. On Earth, this took the form of the Digimon Kinandon used to hunt Jessica. Kinandon turned around. "Come to the conference hall." He said.
They went to a hall with a big table. Everyone had a seat. Kinandon put his elbows on the table and folded his hands underneath his chin. "Let's get down to business. So I'm assuming since you want to negotiate, you DON'T want to war against Aqualia? Is that right Miss Annison?" Kinandon asked. Jessica/Jennifer nodded. "That's right. This Jessica Glovion person was acting entirely on her own. If you want to hunt her down and punish her, you have every right to do so, but please don't drag Earth into an intergalactic war. The United Nations Of Earth were unaware of her actions at the time she committed them." She said. Jessica knew Kinandon's hate was strong. She made up her mind not to try to save her own skin by asking Kinandon to pardon her or to try to convince him that the Jessica who murdered the royal family was a fake. She would deal with that situation separately. She just wanted to avoid a war. More than anything, she wanted to avoid a war. The images of what she saw in the previous night's nightmare filled her mind. Kinandon took his elbows off the table. "But of course, if we didn't prepare for war, if we let our guard down. Earth would easily wipe us out. How do I know you're not trying to deceive me?"
The room was silent. No one quite knew how to answer his question. "Jennifer" spoke up "What if I were to bring you Jessica bound?" She said. Her Digimon-turned-mermen looked astonished at what she was saying. Gabumon spoke up. "What are you saying, Jennifer?" He asked. "Well, Gabriel. The way I see it, his only real gripe is with Jessica. If we hand her over. This will all be over." 'Jennifer' said. "But Jennifer, what if she's innocent?" 'Gabriel' replied. "Then, Gabriel, she will be tried and found innocent." She answered. Jessica thought to herself "So basically, I'm back to trying to prove my innocence to solve this mess. What a drag. I'll need to modify my proposal a little." She thought to herself. She then held 4 fingers. "4 Weeks. A month. We ask for one month's time to track Jessica" She proposed. "Would it be alright with you if we proceeded as though the war is going to happen? I want my army to be fully prepared with all of the weapons and I want to have all the Digimon I'm capable of recruiting just in case you fail, and just in case you're lying." Kinandon said. "That's fine. Better to have your military strength and not need it than to need it and not have it." Jennifer responded.
Suddenly, a blonde merman with blue eyes and a red t-shirt busted in. "Sire! Sire!" He said. He looked to be about 16 or 17 years of age. He looked like an ordinary merkid, but he was actually one of the royal guards who was off duty that day, hence his casual garb. "What's the meaning of this? Can't you see we're in an important meeting?" Kinandon asked in an annoyed tone of voice. "Jessica has been spotted in the capital!" He said. Everyone looked surprised. "Jennifer" immediately stood up. "We gotta swim, now! That's our woman!" She said. They quickly swam out of the castle as fast as their tails could take them. "Jennifer! Slow down! I'm not used to this form like you are!" Gabumon/Gabriel objected. "Don't tell her to slow down, Gabriel! Do you realize how quickly we could end all this madness if we catch her?" Leormon scolded.
They entered the metropolis. They looked around frantically but couldn't see anyone that looked like Jessica. Gabriel pointed over to a tall building that went all the way up to the surface. "Over there!" He said. There was a mermaid wearing a cloak, clearly trying to hide her identity. Gabumon had briefly caught a glimpse of her face. The cloaked mermaid swam to the surface. Jessica took off. She didn't call out to the cloaked mermaid because she didn't want her to know that she was being pursued. Especially since she could just open a wormhole and be gone in an instant. But the cloaked mermaid looked back and saw her. "Damn!" She said. She started swimming in the direction of Poseidon Island, the nearest island to the capital. The real Jessica swam ever faster, she could not keep up with the cloaked mermaid. "I could really use my ancestor's powers right about now." She said, but then she thought back to the images of horror from her nightmare. "No. I mustn't ever use my powers again. Unlike those in my lineage, I'm too inexperienced to control them." She said. The cloaked mermaid kept her distance from the real Jessica. "Who is this pink haired woman and why is she after me? She's not one of the royal officers." She thought to herself. The chase went on until the cloaked mermaid made it into the shallow waters of Poseidon Island. She changed her mermaid tail back into legs before she even reached dry land. She ran out of the water and took the cloak off, revealing that it was indeed the Jessica Glovion doppelganger. Evander was just sitting under a palm tree with Agumon. Terriermon and Ladybugmon were running around playing. Evander noticed Jessica surface. "So how did it go, Jessica?" He asked. He looked behind them thinking she had just gotten a little ahead of the others on their way back. But when they didn't surface, he asked "Where are the others?" The fake Jessica looked worried. "Damn it! This is Jessica's husband. How'd he get here?" She thought to herself. The fake Jessica reached into her satchel and pulled out a Digi-Worm phone to escape through a wormhole. As though he knew exactly what Evander was thinking, Agumon fired off a "Pepper Breath!" at the fake Jessica's hand, burning it and knocking the Digi-Worm phone out of her hand. Evander tackled the fake Jessica and pinned her to the ground. She struggled to get free, but Evander overpowered her. Evander sat on top of her with his arms pinning her arms to the sand. Agumon grabbed the Digi-Worm phone and tossed it into the air. "Pepper Breath!" he shouted as he fired another fire ball right at the Digi-Worm phone. It fell to the ground crackling and sparking. A mini explosion came from the device. "Damn you!" The fake Jessica cried out.
The crew consisting of "Jennifer", "Gabriel", "Leon", and the others emerged from the water. They looked surprised to see Evander pinning down the one they were pursuing. Evander didn't realize he was looking at his wife and her Digimon. They were still in the forms that Samantha's shape shifting devices caused them to take. "Nothing to see here. Pink haired girl, you might want to get out here. This criminal is dangerous." Evander said, before turning fake Jessica over on her back, taking a set of handcuffs out of the pocket on his trench coat and putting the handcuffs on fake Jessica. Evander grabbed fake Jessica and lifted her off the ground. "This Cyber Sleuth's got some questions for you, lady." Evander said. Evander looked over to the group who just witnessed the handcuffing. "Yo, Pinkie. Get a move on. I said there's nothing to see here." He was referring to the real Jessica. She took out Samantha's shapeshifting device and used it to go back to her true form. "Who are you calling Pinkie?" She asked. The others undid their shapeshifted forms as well.
Evander looked over to Agumon. "Agumon, I want you to come here." He said. Agumon walked over to him. "It's time we found out who this is really is." Agumon tilted his head. "If it's Old Man Jinkins again, I quit." He said. Evander looked confused, and then chuckled realizing the reference he was making. Evander then turned serious again and looked over to fake Jessica. He took her over to a palm tree and forced her to sit under it. "You're going to tell us everything. First, why are you still in this form?" Evander asked. Jessica walked over to her doppelganger and bent down to look her in the eyes. She glared at her. "We probably never would have found you if you hadn't taken this form and appeared in the capital city." Jessica said. The fake Jessica was silent. "TALK!" Evander yelled in anger. He actually was tightly gripping the top of fake Jessica's head. Normally, cases didn't get him this worked up, but he had a personal stake in this. His wife's reputation and life were both on the line, and this person was why an entire planet's government was after her. Ladybugmon bounced over. "Yeah! Talk! Talk! Talk! Or we'll give you lots of cookies and milk and a teddy bear to boot!" Ladybugmon said. Evander looked a little annoyed. "Ladybugmon…what...the..heck?" He said. "Oh, I thought we were playing good cop, bad cop. I was playing the good cop. Do YOU want to play the good cop?" Ladybugmon said. "No, we're not...just let me." He said in an annoyed tone of voice.
"I'm in this form because on route with my master, my ShapeChange device touched an electric eel which caused it to malfunction. I initially went through many different forms that were in the ShapeChange's registry, but wouldn't you know the luck, I just happened to land on this one. I don't know how to change back. Believe me, I've tried. After what I did, swimming around Aquallia with this face is the last thing I want." Fake Jessica said. Agumon reached into her satchel and got out a small device. "Is this it?" Agumon asked. Agumon began to examine it. "Don't touch it! I might be forced to be in this form forever!" Fake Jessica exclaimed. Agumon pushed a button on the device twice. "No, don't!" She said. But when he did, the fake Jessica transformed into Kappamon! "I'm back to normal! What did you do?" She asked. "I just turned it off and back on again." Agumon replied. Kappamon grimace and a sweat drop ran down her head. "You're kidding me." She said.
Evander looked down at the little Digimon. "So, this is your true form? What are you? A Digimon?" He asked. "I'm Kappamon." She replied. Jessica was still crouching down to meet her at eye level. Jessica's usually gentle and kind expression was stern. "Why did you kill the royal family? And why did you impersonate me to do it?" Jessica asked. "As I'm sure my master told you in the Digital World, I did it because you are a descendent of Sebastian Poseidon. I needed Kinandon to bear a personal grudge against you so he would hunt you down and try to kill you. I needed someone of your abilities to wage war on Aqualia. It was the only way to ensure this planet's destruction." Kappamon explained. "But why do you hate Aqualia so much? What did these people do to you to make you want to destroy it? And why does Agent Salvation call himself that?" Evander asked.
Kappamon was silent. "Answer me!" Evander yelled. What Evander hadn't noticed is that when Kappamon went from being Jessica's form to Kappamon's form, her hands got smaller. Small enough to easily wiggle out of handcuffs!
