Evander, Ladybugmon, Terriermon, and Augie's DigiEgg made it through the portal. Evander found himself standing in the middle of downtown Greenville. Terriermon and Ladybugmon looked around. They had amazed looks on their faces. Humans were walking around everywhere, back and forth, in and out of automobiles, doing business, hanging out, some just loitering. "Amazing, Evander! There's humans everywhere!" Ladybugmon exclaimed as his head turned left and right. "Yeah, and some are really tall!" Terriermon said. Evander looked down at the two Digimon with a concerned look on his face. He was afraid they might attract attention and freak people out. After all, the world hadn't come to know of the existence of Digimon yet. People who knew about Digimon considered it to be a childrens' television show, card game, and video game franchise at most. "Those are called adults, and try not to draw much attention to yourself." Evander said in a whispered tone. Terriermon looked up at Evander. He and Ladybugmon both had a childlike sense of wonder about them, being in this new world. "Adults? What are those?" Terriermon asked. "Think of them as like….well, consider Jessica and I as like Rookie forms. Adults are like the next level; Champions. I'll be tall like them someday." Evander explained. Ladybugmon let out a gasp and asked "Humans can digivolve!?" Evander hushed him because, again, there were people around. Some of them were starting to look at them funny. "In a sense, yes. We call it growing up." Evander explained.
Evander looked down at his DigiEgg and smiled. "Well, I'm sorry that you got hurt, Augie. But hey, at least Digimon never really die. Their data just gets reconfigured." Evander said. Terriermon looked down and frowned. He didn't want to tell Evander, but 9 out of 10 times when a Digimon gets turned back into an egg, when they hatch, they lose their memories. Even if Agumon did hatch soon, he likely wouldn't remember any of them. He thought it best not to tell his Tamer this right now.
"Evander, I'd love to see more of your world, but we should go back to the Digital World. The Digimon Ruler needs to be stopped." Terriermon said. Evander sighed. "You're right." Evander said before turning around and seeing the portal close behind him. Evander's eyes widened. He looked worried. "Oh boy. This might be a problem." He said. "The portal closed." Ladybugmon said. "We'll have to go look for another one. But in any case, since we're back, why don't I go tell our parents that we're all fine. I'm sure they're worried about us since we've been gone for so long." Evander said. The boy then picked Ladybugmon and Terriermon up. "Pretend to be stuffed animals." He whispered before walking through a crowd of people.
Before Evander could make much traction, a woman grabbed him by the arm! Alarmed, Evander turned to look at her. The woman had dark brown hair and blue eyes. She stared at him for just a second before turning her head the other way and shouting. "It's him! It's that missing boy we've heard about on the news!" She exclaimed. Then a man in a suit and tie came running up to him. He bent down and leaned in forwards towards Evander. He took his glasses off to look at him without his glasses, holding said glasses slightly above his eyes before pulling them back down to get a glimpse of Evander through his glasses. He smiled. "Yep. This is the missing Glovion boy." He said. Evander grimaced. Great. His disappearance had been made public. His parents must have filed a police report and it made it to the local news. He hoped he wouldn't attract too much attention, but it was clear that more and more people were beginning to crowd around him. "Where have you been, young man!? Your parents must have been sick!" The man in the suit and tie asked. "Were you abducted or did you run away? If you were abducted, how did you escape from your kidnapper?" The woman who grabbed his arm asked. Evander was feeling really nervous now. "Well…it's really not….that simple." Evander began nervously. Suddenly, a microphone was shoved into his face. Evander was startled. It took him a moment to realize he was being surrounded by a news crew. "Young man, are you indeed Evander Glovion?" He asked. "Y-yes, that's me." Evander replied. The anchorman turned to the camera and said, "This is Cody Acorn with the news. I'm here in downtown Greenville with a boy who went missing a week ago. Police have been working to track him and a little girl named Jessica down with no luck. It is astonishing that he should reappear just as mysteriously as he disappeared." He said. Then he turned around and put the microphone back into Evander's face. "Mr. Glovion? What exactly happened to you?" Cody Acorn asked. Evander grimaced. "You wouldn't believe it even if I told you." Evander replied. Evander bit his lip and thought for a moment. The truth would sound like a cokamamy story.
"I just…." Evander said, pausing to think of a plausible made up explanation. Nope. No luck. With his Digimon in his arms, he took off running.
Evander kept running until he had lost the crowd. Evander was now standing in the alleyway behind some restaurant. Evander looked down at his Digimon and took a deep breath. Several deep breaths, actually. Actually, he was out of breath. But once his breathing returned back to a semi-normal pace, he said, "Nice job being quiet." Terriermon smiled and held up one hand. "You got it, dude." Terriermon said. Evander was silent for a moment. A look of concern was on his face. "What's wrong, Evander?" Ladybugmon asked. "It's just….if the media knows about my disappearance, they most likely know about it because my parents filed a missing person' report. And that means my parents are at home worried sick about me. I need to go home so I can explain that everything is ok." Evander said. Evander figured that if he brought real live talking Digimon with him, who could perform real attacks in real space and time, then proving his otherwise absurd story would be a sinch. However, the real problem would be to get them to not freak out over real live Digimon.
Evander looked down at the DigiEgg in his arms and frowned. "I wish you could be there to meet them as well…Augie." Evander said softly. Evander wondered how he would get back to his house. It was quite a walk from Greenville to Piedmont. He didn't have enough money for a Taxi cab. He couldn't take a train. There was only one thing to do; call Mom and have her come pick him up. Evander reached into his pocket and brought out his cell phone. He flipped the phone open and dialed his home number. 555-7315. Evander waited for a moment. He was nervous. The other end picked up. "M-Mom?" Evander said. "Evander!? Is that you!?" Evander's mother said in shock on the other end. "Yes, it's me, Mom, I-" Evander said. "Oh my gosh, Evander! Your father and I have been worried sick about you! Are you ok!? What happened to you!? Are you safe!? Where are you!?" His mother frantically said over the phone. "I'm fine, Mom. I'll explain everything later. But I need you to come pick me up. I'm behind Soby's restaurant 207 S Main St." Evander explained. "Ok! Stay put! I'll be there as soon as I can! I'm leaving now!" Darlean Glovion said over the phone. Evander could tell that she was beginning to get emotional. They both hung up. Evander put Terriermon and Ladbugmon on the ground and said. "My mother is coming to pick us up. She'll be here soon." Evander said.
They waited for about 15 minutes. Luckily no one else seemed to recognize him as the missing Glovion boy. Darlean Glovion pulled up in her car; a black minivan. Evander opened the door and hopped in. His mother embraced him sobbing. "Evander! I'm so glad that you're ok! I thought I had lost you!" She said through her tears. Evander frowned. He hated that he made her worry, but then again, it wasn't like he had a choice. Jessica's computer just sucked them into the Digital World without warning. It's not like he had a chance to leave a note or anything. Still, even though it was out of his control, he felt guilty about it. "I'm sorry I made you worry, Mom." Evander said in a sad tone of voice. Darlean pulled back. She was smiling and shedding tears of joy at the same time. She looked down and noticed Ladybugmon and Terriermon, and the strange, large, orange egg with dark blue stripes he was holding. "You…got new toys?" She asked. Evander smiled nervously, gritting his teeth. "Well…actually…." Evander began, but before he could continue, Terriermon butted in. "I know we look soft and cuddly, but we're no stuffed animals. We're lean mean Digi machines." Terriermon said. Evander's eyes widened. Darlean's eyes widened with shock. Pointing at Terriermon, she asked in a loud, deafening shriek, "DID THAT RABBIT JUST TALK!?" Evander chuckled. "Mom? Remember when I asked you to get me a Terriermon plush toy for my birthday? You don't have to do that anymore because now I have a real Terriermon. This is him. I know it sounds crazy, but you can see the evidence for yourself. I've been in the Digital World this whole time. Jessica was there too." Evander explained.
"Nonsense! Digimon is just a cartoon! They're not real!" Darlean protested.
"Hey, that's not nice! We are so definitely real! Really real real!" Ladybugmon rebutted while scowling.
"I don't know when you learned ventriloquism, but this isn't very funny. Now tell me what actually happened to you!" Darlean said, starting to sound angry.
Terriermon looked Evander in the eyes and said. "Your mom is not making a very good first impression." He said. Evander sighed in exasperation. Evander opened the car door and said, "Terriermon, Ladybugmon, go do a special attack." Evander said. His mother was silent, scowling at him. But her angry expression turned to one of surprise when she saw the two creatures she assumed were toys get out of the car, run over to the sidewalk and face a tree which was standing out of some soil in a special place that was carved out for it in the sidewalk. Ladybugmon flapped his wings quickly while in mid-air and sent out some sharp, compressed, slices of air at the tree while shouting "Super Sonic!" Terriermon opened his mouth and shouted "Bunny Blast!" before firing a plethora of small, green fireballs at the tree. The two hit the tree and managed to knock it over. Fortunately, it was a small tree and when it fell, it didn't fall onto any buildings or people. Evander smiled and gestured his hands toward the Digimon. "Can ventriloquism do that, Mom?" Evander asked while the two partner Digimon rushed to get back inside the car. Terriermon looked up at Evander with a smile and asked, "Should I try Terrier Tornado next?" He asked. Darlean reached across her son's lap, closed the door, and then put both hands on the steering wheel and took off. "I don't know what's going on, but let's get out of here before we get arrested for vandalism!" Darlean said.
Evander, his mother, and his Digimon eventually made it back to the Glovion Residence. It was a sunny day in South Carolina, United States of America. There wasn't a single cloud in the sky. It was the weekend, so Evander's younger sister Lily, and his father, Robert, were both home.
Back in The Digital World…..
Emily came walking into her base. It was semi-dark, and screens were everywhere. Lying around were boxes of Red Stones. Emily took her cloak off and tossed it on a nearby coat rack. Emily was now clad in dark sunglasses, a vampirelike cloak which had a dark red interior and a black exterior, and had a collar that curled up. And she wore a small top that exposed much of her midriff. She also wore a black skirt, and gray knee-high boots. Her hair was blonde and wavy. She walked up a small flight of stairs covered in red carpet, up to a golden throne which she proceeded to sit in. A Lopmon came in through the door nearby with a frantic look on her face. "Emily! Emily!" Lopmon exclaimed. Emily looked over to her and scowled. "How dare you use my given name! I am The Digimon Ruler! You are to address me as such!" Emily shouted angrily. Lopmon jumped in fear. She was worried she might get another lashing out of her. Indeed, she saw Emily reaching for the whip in a holster at her side at that very moment. "I'm sorry, your majesty! Please forgive me! I come with news!" The little Lopmon exclaimed frantically while waving her hands back and forth. Emily sat back down, her angry expression leaving her…for the most part. "Go on." Emily said calmly.
"The Digidestined with the goggles has returned back to the human world through a portal! I saw it while I was out collecting more stones." Lopmon said. Indeed, Lopmon had been collecting stones. She had a satchel around her that looked too big for a little bunny like her to carry. However, she did manage it. Emily's eyebrows shot up. This news obviously surprised her. "Really? Well, I did see through Dobermon's eyes that he had run off. But I never expected that he actually left The Digital World. Well, Lopmon, I guess you aren't entirely useless after all." Emily said, that last sentence oozing with condescension. Lopmon bowed her head, relieved that she had done something to please her master and that she wasn't going to get the whip again. Emily smirked and chuckled a little. "One less insignificant insect to stand in the way of my conquest." She said.
Back in the human world….
Terriermon unleashed a Terrier Tornado, which was an attack which consisted of Terriermon extending his ears and spinning around rapidly in order to create a small tornado that was then sent at his enemy. This one, though, was just hurled through the yard and dissipated after a short distance. Ladybugmon unleashed another Super Sonic. Robert and Lily were standing in the front yard of their house. Rober folded his arms, closed his eyes, and chuckled. "Well, I'll be! Real Digimans! Who would have thunk?" Robert said.
Terriermon and Ladybugmon came back over to the group of humans. Terriermon looked up at Evander and put his hands on his hips with a proud look on his face. Ladybugmon flew in mid-air and landed on Evander's shoulders. "What did he just call us?" Ladybugmon asked. Evander chuckled. "It's DigiMON, Dad." He said. Evander had already explained everything to Robert, Darlean, and Lilly. Darlean frowned and sighed. "I told you not to get into fights. You took it up to the next level." She said. Evander chuckled nervously with his eyes closed. "Well…" He began. Evander's parents and younger sister turned around and began to walk through the door of their double wide mobile home. Robert looked back at him with a grin and a thumbs up. "Son, I'm going to call Jessica's parents. They can come over here and we can explain everything. Then, I want you to tell me about all of your adventures with your Digimans." Robert said. Evander nodded. "Ok." Evander said.
They went inside and sat down on the couch. Robert had called Jessica's parents and they came over as well. Maria Amber and Phillip Amber sat in a couple of chairs in the living room as they listened to Evander explain everything. "Mr. and Mrs. Amber, your daughter is fine. One week ago, when we went into room to play some video games, Jessica's computer came on all of a sudden. Then, it sucked us inside like a vacuum cleaner. Before long, we found ourselves surrounded by creatures called Digimon. We had been given little devices called Digivices. They look like this." Evander explained. He brought his orange D-Power out of his pocket and held it up for all to see when he mentioned the digivices. "We were summoned by the powers that be to save the Digital World from a great evil. We don't know much about it yet, but we're gathering more clues. We've had to fight some evil Digimon like Devimon, and some Digimon who were being controlled by someone called The Digimon Ruler, who put these red marks on the Digimon. I made my way back here after my accident. Jessica is still in the Digital World, and as soon as I can find a portal, I'll be going back too." Evander explained.
"How can Digimans be real and be a TV show?" Robert asked.
Evander shook his head. "Maybe whoever invented the franchise went there. Or maybe whoever invented the franchise created the Digital World itself." Evander speculated.
Darlean frowned when Evander mentioned going back. "Please don't go back. I just got you back." Darlean said. Evander looked over in his mother's direction and frowned. "Ah, Mom. I have to go. We're the only ones who can save the Digital World. The threat that Jijimon talked about has to be pretty bad for the Digimon not to be able to hand it by themselves. Shoot, they didn't even stop at summoning Digidestined from Earth. They've summoned Digidestined from all over the universe!" Evander said. Darlean and Robert's eyebrows shot up when Evander mentioned Digidestined from all over the universe. "What do you mean 'all over the universe'?" Robert asked. "Are you saying there are aliens with Digimon too?" Darlean asked. Evander nodded. "Yeah. There's this girl named Flora. She has a big temper. And she looks mostly human, except she has cat ears and a cat tail, not to mention claws. And she has animal instincts that allow her kind to hunt like a lion or a tiger. And there's also this girl named Zai. She's from this big burning planet called Devilis. She has bat wings growing out of her back. The only other human besides me is Mario." Evander said.
Jessica's name was noticably absent. Maria and Phillip picked up on this. They both looked at each other. Without having to say anything, they both knew what this meant. Mr. and Mrs. Glovion, on the other hand, were in the dark. Evander hoped that they wouldn't catch Jessica's omitted name, but Darlean tiled her head and put her finger up to her mouth. A confused look on her face. "But you said Jessica is with you. So you and this Mario boy can't be the only humans there. Right?" Darlean said. Evander grimaced, then smiled and chuckled nervously. "Well, funny story." Evander said. Evander then looked over to Maria and Phillip. He wondered if it would make Jessica's parents angry that she had spilled their secret to him. He didn't want to get his longtime childhood friend (who he had developed feelings for) in trouble. Maria bowed her head and closed her eyes. "Evander, it's ok. You can tell the truth." She said.
Evander then took a deep breath and returned his look over to his own parents. "Ok, so a long ways from here is a planet called Aqualia. It's a planet that's covered in water and hardly any land at all. The people who live there are amphibious creatures. We know them as mermaids and mermen. Jessica and her family are from there. And if you're wondering where their tails are, well, they can switch back and forth between legs and tails just by wanting to." Evander explained.
Darlean rubbed her hands through her hair and sighed. "First real Digimon, now aliens? This just gets wilder and wilder." Darlean said.
Evander and his Digimon spent a little more time talking to his and Jessica's parents. Then they had a meal, and left, looking for a portal back to the Digital World.
Evander walked down the street that his house was on, looking for a portal. "Dang, where's a portal when you need one?" Evander asked, sounding frustrated, and looking left and right. Ladybugmon was in his arms next to Augie's DigiEgg. Terriermon was perched on his shoulder. "Did you think you would find one just by walking around aimlessly?" Terriermon asked. Evander was silent. "Good point." Then something occurred to him. A look of realization came across his face. "Hey! When Jessica and I went to the Digital World the first time around, we were sucked into Jessica's computer!" Evander said.
Evander and his Digimon went into Jessica's house and went up to her computer. Evander took out his orange D-Power and held it up to the monitor. "Digi-Port Open!" Evander said. A few moments passed. Nothing happened. Evander put his digivice down and then held it up again. "Digi-Port open!" Still nothing. Evander bowed his head and sighed. "That always works in the TV show." Evander said in a sad tone.
Evander left Jessica's house and continued to search around aimlessly for a portal. He had made it to Williamston park after about half an hour of walking and searching. Evander sat on a park bench with his two Digimon and Digi-Egg. Evander sighed. "I shouldn't have come back. Who knows if I'll be able to make it back there or not? My friends could be in danger as we speak." Evander said. Terriermon climbed up Evander's shoulder and patted him on the cheek. "Don't worry. We'll find a way back." Terriermon said. "Yeah. There just has to be a way." Ladybugmon said.
Just then, Evander and his Digimon looked over to hear a boy come running, yelling "Wait! Purple monkey! Come back! Come back, purple monkey!" The boy had tall, blonde, spiky hair and was wearing greenish yellow sunglasses on his forehead. He looked to be around Evander's age. Maybe slightly older. The boy came and stopped in front of the bench that Evander and his Digimon were sitting on. The boy with the tall, blonde, spiky hair bent over and put his hands on his knees. He was panting heavily from all the running he had been doing. "Yo dude, you say something about a purple monkey?" Evander said. The boy turned with a jolt and took Evander by the hands, a bright smile came across his face. "Yes! Purple monkey! I was chasing one! He told me to follow him! Did you see it!? My name is Tameron by the way!" Tameron said. Evander was taken aback and a drop of sweat came down the back of his head. "I'm….Evander. And…no, I haven't seen any monkeys come through here, purple or otherwise." Evander said. Evander thought this guy must be seeing things at first, but then a thought occurred to him; what if this purple monkey Tameron had been chasing was a Digimon? Maybe this Tameron boy was a Digidestined like him, but just a latecomer. Evander stood up and said, "Well, I'll help you find it." Evander said.
"I'll help too!" Terriermon said.
"And me too!" Ladybugmon said.
Tameron let out a shriek before running around in circles and tripping over his untied shoe and face planting into the dirt. A sweatdrop came down all of their heads. "Maybe he didn't see a Digimon. Maybe he's just crazy." Evander thought to himself. Tameron then let out a huge fart while he was lying there on the ground. It was loud, and lasted for several seconds. Evander held his nose and took a few steps back. "Ok, crazy and stinky." Evander thought to himself. Tameron then stood up and brushed himself off. He pointed to Evander's Digimon and said, "First, a purple monkey! Now, a talking rabbit and giant ladybug?!" Tameron yelled. Evander shushed him. "Keep it down. Don't attract so much attention to yourself. Look, my name is Evander. These are my Digimon partners Terriermon and Ladybugmon. This egg I'm holding a DigiEgg of one of my partners who got fatally wounded. He should hatch soon. I'm looking for a way back to the world where these guys come from. I was thinking that purple monkey you saw might be a Digimon also and might help us find a portal back." Evander explained.
Tameron stared at Evander, blinking a lot. "Digi-whatsowhofa?" He said. He obviously didn't understand a word Evander had just said. Evander jerked his head downward and let out an exasperated sigh. Then he raised his head and began to point at each of his Digimon. "Terriermon - Digimon. Ladybugmon - Digimon. This - DigiEgg. Me - Evander. Looking for portal to world where Digimon come from. Me no find portal. Me think purple monkey can help." Evander said, purposefully speaking slowly and in broken English to make it as simple as possible. Evander was easily irritated right now. He wanted to get back to the Digital World and get back there as soon as possible. He didn't need this right now. Tameron smiled and rubbed the back of his head while chuckling like Goofy. "Well, why didn't you just say that in the first place? Gosh, I thought I was having another one of my medicine induced hallucinations again!" Tameron said. Evander looked at Tameron funny. "Medicine….induced….hallucinations?" He now wondered whether Tameron was just seeing things. Maybe there was no purple monkey. Maybe he was wasting his time.
Evander thought he'd take the gamble. He sighed. "Look. Let's just go." Evander said. Tameron turned around and motioned with his hand. "Follow meeee!" Tameron said, singsongy. Just then, they heard a cracking sound. Evander looked down, it was Augie's DigiEgg. Evander's eyes widened. "Whoa! It's hatching already!?" Evander exclaimed. Crack. Crack. Crack. Pop! Out popped Botamon! Terriermon had a concerned look on his face. "Will he remember us? Or…." Terriermon thought to himself. Botamon turned around and looked at Evander. "I'm back, Evander! I'm back!" Botamon said cheerfully. Terriermon took a sigh of relief and smiled. "When most Digimon get turned back into DigiEggs, they lose their memory. I'm glad Augie's one of the exceptions to that rule." Terriermon thought to himself.
Evander smiled as he looked down at the little Botamon in his hands inside of the bottom half of the DigiEgg shell. The top half had come off and shattered on the ground. "It's good to have you back, Augie." Evander said. "It's good to be back, Evander!" Botamon said.
Just then, they heard a voice say. "Hey, blondie. You comin' to watch mah concert or not?" They turned their heads to see a 5 footish tall orange monkey with sunglasses on. Actually, it looked like a man with an apelike face in a monkey costume. At his waist was a yellow teddy bear. Tameron pointed and smiled. "It's the purple monkey!" Tameron exclaimed. Evander looked at Tameron like he had grown an extra head. Evander pointed at the obviously orange monkey and shouted. "Does that look purple to you!?" Evander shouted. Tameron smiled nervously and chuckled. "Sorry. Sometimes I get my colors mixed up." He said. Evander's face fell deadpan. Reaching into his pocket, he brought out his digivice and brought up the Digimon analyzer. "Etemon. Ultimate Level. A Virus type. His Concert Crusher and Dark Network attacks will make you wish you had a set of ear plugs on you." Evander said.
Evander's eyes widened once he saw that on Etemon's head was a red mark! "He's not a friendly one! He's got a red mark on him!" Evander exclaimed.
Back in the Digital World, Emily was watching a screen. It showed everything Etemon was seeing. Emily was seeing what was happening through Etemon's eyes on the screen in her lair. She sat on her throne and smirked. "Silly boy. I figured he'd try to come back to the Digital World. No one as headstrong as him would ever give up so easily." Emily said. Emily then tapped a headpiece she was wearing. "Etemon, annihilate them."
Back in the human world, Etemon nodded. "Yes, oh mighty Digimon Ruler." Etemon said. Etemon then came running at the two boys and their Digimon. "Here I come! I'm just a hunka hunka burning fighting spirit! Uh huh huh." Etemon said, singing a song that was extremely reminiscent of an Elvis Presley song.
Battle Now!
Botamon hopped out of Evander's arms and sat in front of him, giving Etemon a determined look on his face. Terriermon and Ladybugmon also stood in front of Evander and also took fighting stances. Evander held his digivice out towards his partners.
DIGIVOLUTION
"Botamon digivolve to…Koromon!"
"Koromon digivolve to…Agumon!"
"Agumon digivolve to…Greymon!"
DIGIVOLUTION
"Terriermon digivolve to…Gargomon!"
"Ladybugmon digivolve to….BoxerInsectmon!"
Now, all of Evander's Digimon were at the Champion level and ready to fight!
BoxerInsectmon flew up to Etemon and unleashed a series of rapid punches that the naked eye could barely keep up with. "Rapid Punches!" BoxerInsectmon shouted as he punched Etemon 300 times in 30 seconds, aiming for the red mark which was on his forehead. Etemon blocked all of BoxerInsectmon's punches by catching his boxing gloves in the palms of his hands! He amazing kept up with BoxerInsectmon's flurry of punches at an extremely high speed. BoxerInsectmon look astonished. "Impossible! How can he keep up with all of my punches! Is the red mark making him this fast!?" BoxerInsectmon thought to himself. Etemon reached out and grabbed one of BoxerInsectmon's arms. Then, Etemon flipped BoxerInsectmon over his shoulder and slammed him on the ground.
"Gargo Pellets!" Gargomon shouted as he spun the gatling guns on his arms, causing multiple bullets to be fired. Etemon did backflips to dodge all of the bullets as Gargomon turned his guns off to the side while he fired to try and hit the red marked monkey.
"Nova Blast!" Greymon exclaimed, shooting a huge ball of fire out of his mouth and in Etemon's direction.
Etemon dodged this attack as well with lightning fast speed. "Y'all aren't givin' me much of a challenge, but I'll tell ya what, you're givin' me one heck of a workout. I'll have to make myself a peanut butter and banana sandwhich when I'm done here. Uh huh huh." Etemon said. Etemon then took the microphone that was in his hand and shouted into it. "Concert Crush!" When Etemon shouted his attack name into his microphone, sonic waves emanating from his microphone at the three partner Digimon. BoxerInsectmon got up fast and got in front of Greymon and Gargomon. He bent over and began flapping his wings. "This is a sonic attack. Maybe I can cancel it out with one of my own." BoxerInsectmon said. "Sonic Boom!" BoxerInsectmon flapped his insect wings and sent out a bunch of compress, sharp, cutting waves of air. The air slices collided with the sound waves of Etemon's Concert Crush. But rather than cancel each other out, as BoxerInsectmon intended, Etemon's Concert Crush overwhelmed his Sonic Boom and hit him, Greymon, and Gargomon. They fell over onto their backs and shouted out in pain.
Etemon jumped up and down on one foot and then the other victoriously. "Aint nobody gonna kill rock and roll, baby! Rock and roll is gonna live forever, unlike you and your digi pets!" Etemon said. Evander scowled, clenched his fists, and growled while looking at the orange monkey Digimon. "Don't celebrate just yet you cheap Elvis impersonator." Evander said. Evander reached into his pocket and took out some modify cards. "Digi-Modify! Power activate! Digi-Modify! Speed activate!" Evander shouted as he scanned one card and then another through his orange D-Power.
BoxerInsectmon suddenly felt power course through him. Evander then took out a card that had a BlackAgumon on it that was in front of another BlackAgumon that was slightly transparent. There were a bunch of BlackAgumons on this card. Some were more transparent than the others. Evander scanned the card through his orange D-Power. "Digi-Modify! Alias activate!" Evander shouted as he scanned the card through his D-Power.
BoxerInsectmon then flew over to Etemon and reared one of his boxing gloves back to unleash a powerful punch. "HYPER PUNCH!" BoxerInsectmon shouted. Etemon smirked as he saw the four fisted humanoid ladybug flying in his direction. He reared back to unleash a punch of his own. "Monkey Punch!" Etemon shouted! Etemon's fist landed smack dab in the middle of BoxerInsectmon's face! In a flash, BoxerInsectmon was disintegrated!
"BoxerInsectmon! NO!!!!" Greymon and Gargomon shouted simultaneously.
Etemon smirked, thinking he had successfully taken one of the Digidestined's Digimon down. However, BoxerInsectmon appeared from behind Etemon! "Over here, banana brain!" BoxerInsectmon said. Etemon turned around with a surprised look on his face. Before Etemon could do anything, BoxerInsectmon unleashed another "Rapid Punches!" Etemon got hit in the red mark multiple times. 70 times in a row to be precise. BoxerInsectmon's punches were thrown so quickly that Etemon wasn't able to block him completely. However, on the 71st punch and beyond, Etemon went back to blocking his punches.
The Red Mark was fizzling! It had taken a bit of damage from the 70 punches BoxerInsectmon was able to get in. "Concert Crusher!" Etemon exclaimed into his microphone again. BoxerInsectmon got hit and was sent back quite a ways before taking a rolling tumble onto the dirt, and stopping. BoxerInsectmon lied on his stomach.
But while BoxerInsectmon was attacking Etemon, he had given the other two an opening. Etemon turned around to see Gargomon! Gargomon had put his gatling gun right up to Etemon's head. "Gargo Pellets!" Gargomon shouted as he spun his gatling gun. A plethora of bullets hit the red mark on Etemon's head at point blank range!
Evander pumped his fist with a smile on his face. "That's the way! Way to go Gargomon! You too, BoxerInsectmon!" Evander cheered.
Etemon stepped back, holding his head. He looked like he was in pain. The Red Mark had taken even more damage now. Etemon looked forward and said, "Time for me to get serious." After he had said this, a bunch of black cables came up from the ground and wrapped around Evander's Digimon all at once. One set of black cables wrapped around BoxerInsectmon, another wrapped around Gargomon, and another wrapped around Greymon. "Dark Network!" Etemon shouted. Black, electrical energy came out of the cables that were wrapped around Evander's partner Digimon and began shocking them! "AHH!" Greymon exclaimed. "Ahh!" Gargomon cried out. "These cables are….too much!" BoxerInsectmon cried out. Etemon began laughing. "The Digimon Ruler is going to be so pleased. So pleased indeed." Etemon said while the Digimon were getting shocked.
Evander watched his Digimon as they continued to be shocked with the electricity coming out of Etemon's Dark Network cables. He looked frustrated. What could he do? Were there any modify cards he could use to get his Digimon out of this jam? Evander took out his entire deck of cards and went through them, searching for one that might helped. "What'll I do? What'll I do?" Evander said out loud. "What an unusual view?" Tameron added. Evander shot Tameron a dirty look. Tameron shrugged and said, "Whaaaat?"
Evander then looked down and saw a card that might work. It had a picture of an expanding universe on it. Evander swiped the card through his Orange D-Power and exclaimed, "Digi-Modify! Expansion Activate!" He swiped it two more times so that it would affect all three of his Digimon partners. Greymon, Gargomon, and BoxerInsectmon all turned black and purple and had tiny white spots on them. Their bodies looked like a starry night. They grew much larger and as a result of this expansion, they snapped the wires that had them wrapped up. After that, they shrunk back down and returned to normal.
Evander swung his fist in the air. "Yes!" He cheered.
Etemon growled. "Y'all are gettin' on mah last nerve. Dark Network!" Etemon said before sending a series of black cables to whip Evander's Digimon. Evander's Digimon got hit and took some damage. They fell to their knees. They had been pushed to their limit. Evander looked frustrated again. "No! Not again! We can't keep losing like this!" Evander exclaimed as Etemon walked towards them, advancing.
Suddenly, a bluish white portal opened up behind them. Evander gasped when it saw it. Etemon turned around to look, curious as to what the goggleheaded boy was gasping at. "Ah, it's a DigiWorld portal." Etemon said. At that moment, Mario came stumbling through the portal and landed flat on his face. He sat up and rubbed his head. Zai's head poke through. She looked around. "Hnn…this must be Earth." Then Zai's attention was turned over to Etemon. Zai's eyebrows furrowed. "Ooook? Is…that a Digimon or does Earth have weird monkeys?" Zai asked. Syn the BlackGatomon poked her head through the portal as well. She began reaching out in the direction of the Etemon. "Oooooooh! Monkey! Monkey! Zai! I want to play with the monkey!" Syn exclaimed, making grabbing gestures as she reached out with her arms. Zai walked through the portal and sighed. Zai then noticed the Red Mark on its forehead. "Red mark. Definitely a Digimon." Zai said.
Etemon began laughing. "Ah, more digidestined to destroy!" Etemon said, but as Etemon turned around to attack the bat winged Digidestined, he inadvertently tripped on one of his own Dark Network cables. "Oops!" He exclaimed. As Etemon came forward, Zai took out her digivice and held it up to the monkey's forehead. A beam of light shot out of it and destroyed the Red Mark!
Battle Over!
Jessica and Flora came through the portal as well with their Digimon partners. Flora looked around. There were more than a few people gawking at them. She looked over and saw Evander and his Digimon standing next to Tameron. Evander's Digimon de-digivolved to their Rookie forms. Flora put her hands on her hips and walked over to Evander. She reached up and punched Evander in the head! "You idiot! Quit wandering off! If you wander from the group one more time, I'll put you on a leash!" Flora yelled. Evander rubbed his head. Then he scowled at Flora and tried to aim a punch at her! "Don't hit me! I know I was wrong to wander off, but that doesn't justify trying to give me a concussion!" Evander fussed. Evander punched the air a few times, but Flora effortlessly evaded all of his punches. Then Flora grabbed Evander's wrist and flipped her over onto his back, knocking the wind out of him. "WHEEZE! WHEEZE! Is…that….all you….got?" Evander said.
Tameron's eyes glowed and he smiled brightly. He began jumping up and down while pumping his fists in the air. "That! Was! So! Awesome! That was so awesome! So incredibly awesome! Awesome possom! Awesome possom!" Tameron said cheerfully.
Jessica ran over to Evander and helped him get back up. "Seriously? Trying to pick a fight with Flora?" Jessica said shaking her head in disapproval. "You think I should go easy on her because she's a girl?" Evander asked, getting back up on his feet. "No, I think you shouldn't pick a fight with a girl who's half cat and lived in the wild for most of her life." Jessica said. Flora rolled her eyes. "What an idiot." She said. Then she looked over at Mario who was still lying on his stomach. Mario got up and shook his head while making some kind of blubbering noise. He looked over to Flora and grinned while giving a thumbs up. "Found Evander!" He said.
Just then, they all heard a beeping noise coming from inside the bluish white portal. When all the children and Digimon looked over to the portal, a glowing white object flew out and came directly to Tameron. The light landed in his hands. It was glowing white. When the glowing white light faded, the object that landed in Tameron's hand was revealed to be a dark green D-Power. "What's this?" Tameron asked, holding the digivice up.
"That's a digivice." Evander said, his eyes widened and his mouth hanging open.
"That must mean you're one of us, kid." Flora said.
"One of you?" Tameron asked.
"Digidestined." Jessica replied.
The Etemon who had just been freed from the Red Mark got up and looked around. "Ah man, that wasn't fun at all." He turned to the Digidestined and shot them a thumbs up. "Thank you, a thank you for much. For freein' me that is." Etemon said.
Back at The Digimon Ruler's Lair…
Emily slammed her fist on the arm of her throne in frustration. "Another one of my servants freed!? These digivices are becoming a bother. Even if the red marked Digimon defeats their Digimon, they can always rely on those little devices to bail them out." Emily said. Then she reached into the pocket on her black skirt and brought out a brown D-Power. This was her digivice. "Perhaps my own digivice can find a way around this little dilemma." She said.
