Chapter 35: Big, Bad, Barbamon.

Taylor, Martin, Drusilla, and Emmett looked enraged. They had just witnessed another injustice at the hands of Owarimon! First, it was Witchmon and Wizardmon, now it was Beelzemon and Beelstarmon. The kids were so full of rage that they were all shaking. "YOU MONSTER! YOU HORRIBLE MONSTER! I'LL TEAR YOU APART PIECE BY PIECE!!" Taylor shouted. "BEELSTARMON JUST WANTED HER BROTHER BACK! SHE JUST……WE'LL MAKE YOU SUFFER! WE'LL MAKE YOU SCREAM IN AGONY!" Martin yelled. "DIE!" Drusilla yelled. "YOU DON'T DESERVE TO LIVE!" Emmett shouted. Their Digimon looked concerned. They had never seen them this angry before. Evander was thinking the same thing. In the 11 years he had raised his daughter, he never saw this level of fury out of her. Suddenly, all four of their Digivices began glowing in a dark black aura!

Black energy shot out of their digivices and enveloped the Digimon, causing them to become their mega forms! Tritonmon, Chlorismon, Mariamon, and Feroniamon screamed as though they were in pain as the black aura continued enveloping them!

Evander noticed this and immediately took action. He got up, ran over to his daughter, and slapped her in the face with an open palm. Taylor's digivice stopped its ominous glow. Taylor held her face. A handprint was visible on it. She looked at Evander in shock. He had never hit her before. "You need to calm down. Look at your digivices." Evander said in a stern voice and with just as stern of an expression on his face. The other three looked at their D-Ecos which, unlike Taylor, were still glowing in a blackish purple light. They gasped! They were so startled by the sight that they dropped their D-Ecos to the ground. The D-Ecos stopped their ominous glowing. The shock of what was about to happen probably altered their emotions so dramatically that the nigh dark digivolution was interrupted. "I'm sorry I hit you, my sweet little mermaid, but the entire fate of the multiverse was at stake. You were about to cause your Digimon to dark digivolve. Trust me, I've been there….twice. Hornetmon and SkullGreymon. As powerful as those monsters were, they wouldn't be anything compared to an evil, inverted version of Harmonymon, which is what I'm pretty sure you were about to create." Evander said.

The black aura faded from the four megas. It seemed that one crisis, at least, was averted. Taylor bowed her head and burst into tears. "I'm so sorry!" She exclaimed. All of this had gotten to her. Two more friends gone, and now she finds out that her evil emotions almost doomed everyone in existence! In her mind, she had dual thoughts. On one hand, she wishes that Homeostasis had never chosen her. On the other, she's glad she did, because she wouldn't have met her partner otherwise. Tritonmon put his hand on Taylor's shoulder. "Stop crying. We'll have plenty of time for that later. Right now, we need to stop Owarimon." Tritonmon said. Unlike the past two times Sharkmon had digivolved, Tritonmon now had two legs and was wearing a skirtlike garment around his waist like the Aqualian loincloth Taylor wore when shifting from tailed to leg form. This enabled him to fight agilly even when he's not in a watery environment, and just like a merman, he could change into tailed mode at will.

Chlorismon, looked down at Martin. Being the giant tree woman that she was, he looked like an action figure in comparison to her. "Marty Hearty, let's fight as one." She said. Martin smiled and nodded. "Yeah." He said. "What?" Chlorismon said, not hearing him. He was hard to hear from all the way down there. "I said 'YEAH!'" Martin yelled. "Well, you don't need to yell at me, Marty Hearty!" Chlorismon said.

Feroniamon placed her hand on Drusilla's shoulder. She noticed that Drusilla was trembling. "I….I almost turned into the monster that I feared." Drusilla said, looking Feroniamon in the eye. Feroniamon smiled at her. "But you didn't." She said. Drusilla looked away and frowned. "But only because Taylor's dad stopped us." She said in a sad tone. Feroniamon took Drusilla's face in her hand and forced her to look her in the eyes. "Drusilla, look at me. Sometimes we need other people…to keep us from being pulled into the darkness. Just like when Emmett brought you out of Mephistomon's fog." Feroniamon said.

The four children turned to Owarimon and stared her down with determination. Owarimon put her hand on her hip. "Are you done?" Owarimon asked. "So nice of you to wait on us." Taylor said, her words dripping in sarcasm and anger. Owarimon smirked. She held up her blade and licked the back end of it where it still had some of the Digimon's blood on it. "I just wanted to see how your megas fought. It would be a shame if I slaughtered them before they got to do anything." Owarimon said.

Chlorismon aimed her fingers at Owarimon. "Splinters Of Death!" She shouted before firing large shards of wood raining down upon her enemy. Owarimon held her sword out in front of her, shouted "Thanatos Explosion!" and span around rapidly, causing a tornado of energy to surround her body. The energy deflected every single wooden shard that rained down upon her. Owarimon then caused the energy to burst outward. Chlorismon dove down, cupped Martin in one of her hands and shielded him with her body. Mariamon grabbed Emmett, clutched him closely to her chest and flew up high into the air to escape the blast. Feroniamon grabbed Drusilla and flew up high into the air. Tritonmon covered Taylor with his body, embracing her. He had no way to counter this powerful attack, and it was too wide to dodge. Like Chlorismon, his only choice was to keep his tamer from being hurt.

Evander, Agumon, Terriermon, and Ladybugmon got up and ran from the explosive energy blast. "Darn it! We're screwed!" Evander yelled. Fortunately, Evander and his Digimon found a trench they could jump in to let the energy blast just go over them. When the attack was over, Chlorismon had taken a bit of damage as had Tritonmon! Mariamon and Feroniamon had evaded the attack, they set their digidestined partners down on the ground.

Meanwhile, Impy clutched the DigiEgg of Beelstarmon and sobbed bitterly. "Mom! I'm sorry! I'm sorry I couldn't protect you!" He lamented. The Fangmon had long fled, so they weren't there anymore. Chlorismon let go of Martin and stood up. She looked over at Impy mourning. "I don't think you can be saved, Haruka." Chlorismon said. Chlorismon then swung her arm and caused a sharp wooden spike to grow out of her hand. She then ran towards Owarimon and tried to slice her. "Wooden Sword!" Chlorismon yelled. Owarimon parried the attacks with her own sword, but the force of this giant tree woman's swing was so intense that it knocked her back several feet! She fell on her back, and was going to get up, but she saw Chlorismon's massive foot coming down on her to stomp her into oblivion. "Super Thanatos Strike!" Owarimon shouted, swinging her sword and sending out a powerful blackish purple beam of energy out of her sword. The blackish purplish beam of energy hit Chlorismon in the foot, causing her to grunt in pain and jump back, nearly losing her balance. Owarimon then got up and continued her barrage of attacks. "Stone Beam Barrage!" Owarimon shouted, shooting multiple beams of red energy out of the Red Stones covering her body. Chlorismon got hit with all the attacks and grunted in pain. It was impossible for her to dodge these attacks! Chlorismon was as large of a tree! And fortunately, while she had major attacking power, and even better defensive bulk due to her skin being like wooden armor, her digivolution forfeited the agility she had as Naturemon, MotherNaturemon, and Vineyardmon. She just hoped she didn't fall on Martin. She looked behind her and saw that Martin was at a safe distance. "Whew! I don't want my giant wooden butt turning my Marty Hearty into moosh!" She thought.

Tritonmon ran over and blew into his conch shell, "Conch Lightning!" He shouted before blowing into his conch shell. When he did, several large bolts of lightning shot out of the conch shell! Owarimon jumped up to dodge. "Super Thanatos Strike!" Owarimon shouted, swinging her sword and sending yet another blackish purple energy beam out of her sword. Tritonmon jumped off to the side to dodge. "Conch Lightning! Conch Lightning! Conch Lightning!" Tritonmon attacked four consecutive times. Owarimon evaded each attack. "Super Thanatos Strike! Stone Beam Barrage!" Owarimon had used two different attacks consecutively! One of them hit Chlorismon, the other almost hit Tritonmon but he evaded it!

Feroniamon then flew up and clashed swords with Owarimon. "We wanted to save you, but if we hold back anymore, you'll just take more lives. Give up now! This is your last chance!" Feroniamon said as she and Owarimon pushed each other's swords up against one another. Owarimon gritted her teeth as their both of their swords were putting pressure on each other. "I'm…not…Haruka!" Owarimon said, putting all her might into her arms to fling Feroniamon back. "So be it. Burning Blade!" Feroniamon shouted, sending a flamethrower out of her flaming sword. Owarimon jumped off to the side to dodge, but while she was dodging in mid-air, she realized she was diving right into Chlorismon's hands! Chlorismon grabbed Owarimon in her giant hands, then she jumped up into the air and spiked Owarimon like a football!

Owarimon moaned in pain as she lied on the ground. "Conch Lightning!" Tritonmon shouted before blowing into his conch shell. When he did, several large bolts of lightning shot out of the conch shell! The bolts of lightning hit Owarimon and fried her! She cried out in pain! Mariamon flew over next. They weren't about to let up on the attack. She flew down as Owarimon was struggling to stand up. "Sword of The Spirit!" Mariamon shouted, slashing Owarimon multiple times at lightning fast speed with her blade! She actually slashed her up to 300 times in 30 seconds! Owarimon screamed in pain as purple blood wounds covered her body. Mariamon jumped back. Owarimon stood there as pools of purple blood made a puddle around her feet. Chlorismon put her hands over her mouth and gasped. "What have we done?!" She exclaimed. Mariamon looked away. She remembered that inside this evil looking snake-humanoid Digimon was a human child and her Digimon partner, fused together, not in a bio-merge, but as part of a sick experiment. Tritonmon turned around and looked the other way. "Damn it. I feel like we DID dark digivolve." He said, sounding disgusted with himself..

Owarimon was grunting and groaning in pain. "What's….the….matter? Can't finish me off!?" She screamed. Everyone was silent. Owarimon had become a pathetic sight. Soon, she would bleed out and die. If the Gizumon hybrids were made similarly to Owarimon as Izzy had said, the Digimon side of her would be deleted, and there would be the naked corpse of Haruka lying there. More silence passed and Owarimon lost more blood. She fell over. Mariamon dropped her sword and shield and flew over to the dying Digimon/Human hybrid. "We can't do this." Mariamon said. The golden cross around her neck began to glow. Mariamon placed her hand over Owarimon and closed her eyes. "Marian Intercession." She said, her voice sounding to echo a bit. Owarimon's whole body was covered in a golden light.

Evander and his Digimon had crawled out of the trench. When they saw what was happening they looked shocked. Mariamon was healing Owarimon's wounds! "Mariamon! What are you doing!? She's the enemy!" Evander shouted. "What's the point of beating her up if you're just going to…UNbeat her up!?" Evander's Agumon asked. "This seems very counterproductive." Terriermon added.

Owarimon looked over to Mariamon. She didn't understand what she was doing. Why was she healing her? She was her enemy, and a weapon of destruction. She was going to destroy the whole multiverse! Didn't Mariamon and the others want to stop that? "Why?" Owarimon asked. "Haruka….you've done some terrible things, but I still want to save you." Mariamon said. "And so do Chlorismon, Tritonmon, and Feroniamon." Mariamon's "Marian Intercession" had completely healed her. Moreover, it removed the Red Mark from the snake protruding out of her back! Owarimon sat up. And touched her own body in multiple places, noticing that all of the injuries the Digidestined's Digimon had inflicted were gone. "You….really believe I'm Haruka Abe….don't you?" Owarimon said in amazement. Mariamon then sensed danger! She grabbed Owarimon and shielded her with her own body. "Look out!" Mariamon shouted. Mariamon was hit in the back with a blast of black energy. Owarimon again, had a flashback. It was a large bomb falling onto a city somewhere in Japan. Yet the same woman was in this vision. She grabbed Haruka by the hand and ran with her. "Oh no! This is bad!" The bomb fell and exploded. The woman shielded her with her own body as debris from damaged buildings fell upon them both. A large piece of concrete hit the woman in the head and killed her. As she lay dying, the woman put her hand up to Haruka's face and said "Haruka….I will always be with you….in your heart."

In the present, Taylor, Drusilla, Emmett, Martin, Evander, and their Digimon gasped. Taylor, Drusilla, Emmett, Martin, Evander, and their Digimon all looked back simultaneously to see who had just attacked. It was Barbamon; one of the Seven Demon Lords! He cackled evilly. "So the rumors are true! The children of the digidestined we kidnapped truly are going around slaying us Demon Lords! Remarkable! Here in the Dark Area, rumors almost always turn out to be false! How delightful!" Barbamon said before cackling some more.

Taylor threw her head back and let out a frustrated groan! "Ugh! Looks like we're running the gauntlet!" Taylor yelled. Barbamon stroked his beard and cackled some more. "Since you were tough enough to take down Lillithmon, Leviamon, and Beelzemon, I had best be on my toes and give it my all. Underestimating you kids is not an option." Barbamon said.

Tritonmon ran over and stood in front of Taylor, holding his arms out in a protective posture. "Taylor, mind mode changing into Encyclopedia Mode for us?" Tritonmon asked playfully. "Barbamon's most powerful attack is Pandemonium Lost. It unleashes all of the Dark Area's energy at once as a high temperature explosion. MaloMyotismon's 'Screaming Darkness' does something similar, but it unleashes only a fraction of this energy. If you get hit with that, you're toast." Taylor explained. Tritonmon smiled and licked his lips. "Mmmm. Toast. Hey, I wonder if hot dog wieners go good on toast." Tritonmon said. Taylor got an annoyed expression on her face. "You and your stomach." She said.

Feroniamon readied her blade. "An attack like that sounds like it could destroy all of us in one blow. I want to finish this as quickly as possible." Feroniamon said. Mariamon looked over to her and said, "I agree. Let's put 100% into it." Mariamon was still kneeling next to Owarimon. Mariamon then got up and flew towards Barbamon with Feroniamon. Tritonmon took off towards Barbamon as well. When Chrorismon saw the smaller Megas headed that way, she decided to follow suit. Owarimon was still processing everything. She was beginning to believe. All of the flashbacks she had of this woman calling her Haruka, of her seeming to live a normal human life in these flashbacks, the snake who was autonomous from her, and her enemy's explanation that she's a fusion of a human child who was once a Digimon Tamer with a Snakemon as a partner, all of it was adding up. "Now do you finally get it?" The snake asked. Owarimon nodded. "Yes. I can't deny it any longer." Owarimon said in a serious tone.

"Merman Rolling!" Tritonmon yelled as he attacked, curling up into a ball and causing the shark fin on his back to become sharp, and then slamming into the enemy. Barbamon held up his staff and knocked Tritonmon away effortlessly! Tritonmon uncurled and landed flat on his back, groaning.

Chlorismon bent over and put both of her hands flat on the ground. When she did this, massive trees grew up from the ground all around Barbamon. Chlorismon then willed the trees to all fall down on Barbamon simultaneously. "Forest Burial!" Chlorismon shouted. Barbamon smirked as the trees fell. He spun his staff around, "Darkness Inferno!" He shouted creating black and red fire that swirled around his body for a second and then shot upward, incinerating all of the trees that Chlorismon had created with which to crush him!

"Celestial Sword!" Mariamon shouted as she pointed her sword at Barbamon and then fired a beam of holy light from out of the sword. Barbamon jumped back to dodge the attack.

"Fire Flaps!" Feroniamon shouted. Feroniamon flapped her wings and sent a plethora of fire balls out of her wings. "Darkness Inferno!" Barbamon shouted. He again span his staff around and created black and red fire that swirled around his body for a second, deflecting all of Feroniamon's fire balls. Then the inferno shot forwards in Feroniamon's direction. Feroniamon flew up to dodge it.

Barbamon smirked. "Is this really the power that got rid of three of my brethren? Pathetic!" Barbamon taunted. The four partner Digimon looked frustrated. "None of our attacks worked!" Tritonmon said. "We can't give up!" Chlorismon said.

Evander stood watching the battle, gritting his teeth and clenching his fists. "Darn it! I feel so useless! Without my Digivice, we can't do anything!" Evander complained. Agumon and Terriermon took Evander by each of his hands. Agumon to his right, Terriermon to his left. They both looked up at him. "Don't worry about it. Have faith in your daughter and her Digimon." Agumon said. "Exactly. We can sit this one out, no problem." Terriermon said. Ladybugmon landed on his shoulder. "All of them are really strong." Ladybugmon said. Evander smiled. "You're right. I'll have faith in my daughter and her friends." Evander said.

Tritonmon blew into his trumpet and played a tune. "Conch Crusher!" He sent multiple sonic waves out of his trumpet in Barbamon's direction. Barbamon held his arms out in front of him and braced for the attack. The sonic waves hit and sent him back a few inches. Barbamon grunted, seeming to take a little bit of damage. Barbamon jumped high into the air and pointed his staff down at Tritonmon. "Dark Inferno!" He shouted before a stream of black and red fire shot out of his staff. Tritonmon shouted, "Conch Lightning!" and blew into his conch shell again, playing a different tune. Lightning bolts shot out of his conch shell and collided with the streams of fire! The attacks pushed against each other, which one would overpower the other and damage the enemy!? Barbamon's fire pushed against Tritonmon's lightning! Tritonmon's lightning pushed against Barbamon's fire! "Well, you surprised me, shark boy! I didn't expect you to actually be able to block my Dark Inferno!" Barbamon said. Tritonomon couldn't respond for playing into his conch shell, but he thought "I'm going to do more than just block it!" They both poured more power into their attacks, causing the stream of fire to get bigger and the bolts of lighting to become more plenteous and higher in voltage. Eventually, Barbamon's fire began to overwhelm Tritonmon's lightning and Barbamon's attack started going forward!

However, Mariamon took advantage of Barbamon being pre-occupied, having an energy tug-of-war with her ally in mid-air. She flew up to him at high speed and slashed him 300 times in 30 seconds. "Sword Of The Spirit!" Mariamon shouted. Barbamon was forced to take his attention away from Tritonmon to parry her attacks. He was able to parry very few of them because the sword swings were so incredibly fast. He got lots of sword wounds all at once, and on top of that, because he was no longer pushing back Tritonmon's "Conch Lightning", he got hit with that too! Barbamon screamed as his body was fried with lightning! Barbamon dropped to the ground and got down on one knee. He was grunting, groaning, and breathing heavily. "Maybe you are powerful, after all." Barbamon said through his pain.

Mariamon flew down and tried to strike him with her sword, but Barbamon blocked it with his staff. He swiped at Mariamon with his claw. He was only holding his staff with one hand when he blocked her attack. Mariamon got slashed and grunted in pain. She jumped back and pointed her sword at Barbamon, "Celestial Sword!" She shouted, shooting a beam of holy energy out of her sword. Barbamon deflected the beam with his staff. "Dark Inferno!" Barbamon shouted, shooting another stream of fire out of his staff. Mariamon held up her shield to defend herself. Mariamon looked back at her allies, "Strike now while he's pre-occupied!" She shouted. Chlorismon pointed her fingers down at Barbamon and shouted "Splinters Of Death!" and caused multiple large sharp wooden stakes to fire out of her fingers rapidly like machine gun bullets down on Barbamon. Barbamon jumped back to dodge the attacks. As he jumped backwards, Chlorismon adjusted her aim and continued to fire wooden shards, prompting Barbamon to jump back to dodge even more! After Barbamon had jumped back several feet, Chlorismon stopped firing wooden shards.

Barbamon was breathing heavily. "The four of them are so powerful together! I hate to admit it….but I may need help." Barbamon thought to himself. Barbamon cackled a little before coughing into his fist. "You Digidestined and your partners are quite formiddable, I'll admit. I was hoping I wouldn't have to use this technique." Barbamon then put his hands together, like he was using some kind of ninjutsu. He began to chant something in Witchish! Tritonmon, Chlorismon, Mariamon, and Feroniamon took battle stances, wondering what this attack might possibly be. After a few seconds of chanting, Barbamon started to split into multiple versions of himself! Soon, there were 10 Barbamon all facing them!

Taylor's eyes widened with shock. Her mouth was agape. "Impossible! Barbamon doesn't have this ability! The Digimon Reference Book-" Taylor began to say, but she was cut off by the masked, bearded Demon Lord. "The Digimon Reference Book is out of date. I have learned this ability from a very powerful magic using Digimon. It's a clone spell." Barbamon explained. Martin's tail stood up completely straight. It was as stiff as a board. "Who is this magic using Digimon? Why would they teach you anything?" Martin asked. Barbamon grinned, "Someone thought to have been long dead." Barbamon taunted. The original Barbamon pointed his staff forward and all of the Barbamon clones ran towards the parnter Digimon.

"Get ready guys! He's coming!" Drusilla shouted.

Three Barbamon went after Chlorismon and aimed their staffs at her. "Dark Inferno!" They shouted in unison. Black and red streams of fire came out of the staffs and enveloped Chlorismon. Chlorismon caught on fire and burst into flames! She screamed as her wooden body burned. Every part of her was flammable. Even when the attack stopped, she still was on fire. Martin looked horrified. "Chlorismon! No! You can't die! I love you!" He screamed. Feroniamon flew over to Chlorsimon and held her blade up. Feroniamon caused all of the fire to be sucked into her blade like a vaccum, leaving Chlorismon without any fire left on her body, but she was still badly damaged. "Don't worry, Martin. As long as I'm here, fire will never damage our wooden girl here." Feroniamon said.

Feroniamon then flew towards the Barbamon that had attacked the giant tree woman Digimon and swung her sword at them. "Burning Blade! Burning Blade! Burning Blade!" Feroniamon shouted as she swung her flame enveloped sword multiple times. The Barbamon countered with their staffs. One of the Barbamon slashed at her with his claw! Feroniamon grunted in pain as her flesh was cut. She turned around and tried to strike the Barbamon that just hit her with his sword, but he parried again!

"Let's attack together!" Chlorismon suggested. "Ok!" Feroniamon replied.

"Razor Leaf Blizzard!" Chlorismon shouted. She flapped the multiple tree branches growing out of her lower and upper branches and caused leaves to fall off. The leaves glowed and turned sharp. Then they flew towards the Barbamon in a blizzard of blades!

"Fire Flaps!" Feroniamon shouted as she flapped her wings made of fire and sent a plethora of fire balls raining down on the Barbamon.

The three Barbamon got hit with the attacks and took some damage! They got sliced in multiple places all over their body by the razor sharp leaves and they also suffered burns from the fireballs. They fell to the ground, groaning in pain. Feroniamon then flew down towards one of them and tried to strike him with her blade! However, the Barbamon, despite being badly damaged, was still able bodied enough to parry with his staff! "Greedy Wand!" Feroniamon was hit in the head with the staff of one of the other three Barbamon clones adjacent to her.

"Splinters Of Death!" Chlorismon shouted as she fired more large, sharp shards of wood from her fingers. The three Barbamon clones deflected this attack by making a shield of black and red fire surround them, burning up the shards before they could make impact. One of the Barbamon then lunged at Chlorismon and tried to strike her but Chlorismon retaliated by punching him with her large fist! Her fist was about the size of an SUV! The Barbamon clone was instantly deleted. Chlorismon gave a big smile and giggled. "I got one!" She said in a cheerful tone.

Mariamon was facing down a few Barbamon clones of her own. She caused her shield to glow in a powerful white light. "Shield Of Faith!" She shouted as she fired a powerful beam of white holy energy from her shield. Two Barbamon clones got hit and took a lot of damage, which was evident from how they screamed when they were hit. However, they weren't destroyed. Three of them lunged at Mariamon to attack her simultaneously. "Greedy Wand!" They shouted. Multiple elements; fire, ice, lightning, wind, came out of the tip of the Barbamon clones' staffs. Mariamon blocked the powerful energy attacks with her sword, but the force of them caused her to be pushed back. As she was pushed back, her feet caused grooves in the ground. Dirt piled up behind her heals. Mariamon grunted. "So…powerful!" When the attacks subsided, Mariamon flew towards them at lightning fast speed. "Sword Of The Spirit!" She shouted as she swung her sword 300 times in 30 seconds. The Barbamon clones shouted in pain as they were badly cut up! They disintegrated into digital particles. Mariamon didn't let up on her attack. She turned around and pointed her sword at the third Barbamon clone that attacked her. "Sword Of The Spirit!" Another Barbamon clone was destroyed.

Three down, 7 to go. 8 if you include the original. Emmett watched Mariamon fighting. His eyes sparkled. He clasped his hands together. "Aren't our Digimon fantastic!? Mariamon is just….so….cool!" Emmett exclaimed. Drusilla smiled and nodded. "So cool." She said in agreement.

Feroniamon parried sword and staff with the two Barbamon clones she and Chlorismon were dealing with. While these Barbamon clones were pre-occupied with Feroniamon, Chlorismon took the opportunity to shower them with Splinters Of Death! The two Barbamon clones were deleted! Feroniamon looked up at Chlorismon and gave her a smile and a thumbs up. "Great job, Chlorismon!" She said. Chlorismon smiled with her eyes closed and giggled. "We make a great team, Feroniamon." Chlorismon said.

6 more Barbamon to go, including the original. Owarimon watched the four partner Digimon taking on the multiple Barbamons on the battle field. In her mind, she was wrestling with an existential crisis. She finally believed what they had been trying to tell her. She is Haruka Abe, but what did that mean for her. "My name….is Haruka Abe. I'm 10 years old. I….had a mom….and….a dad. And…..I was a Digimon Tamer. Snakemon was my best friend. We did everything together. I…." Owarimon said. She felt like she had to utter these truths. Although she had accepted them, she felt like uttering them had to be the final step. "My parents were killed in a war….a war against a parallel universe. My Dad was a general. My Mom…was a florist. We….." She began to break down crying as she relived some horrible memories. She remembered being strapped down naked in a laboratory with multiple IVs running into her, with only some black sheets covering her. A Minervamon stood in front of Morty Shin battered and bruised. Morty's eyes were glowing red and his hands were covered in a mystical energy. "Who….are you?" Mervamon asked. Morty smiled evilly. "I already told you, I'm Morty Shin. Child prodigy, physicist, leader of a team who will stop these multiversal wars." Morty replied. "You're….not human. No human could have the kinds of powers you have. What are you!?" Minervamon asked. Morty smirked and held his hand up toward her, "Oh, I'm very much human. The one who endowed me with these abilities is another story. He will make his appearance someday. And you'll be there to watch." Morty said. His hand shot out a powerful blast of red mystical energy and knocked Minervamon back into the wall. She de-digivolved to Snakemon. Haruka watched her Digimon get attacked in horror. She could do nothing, strapped down to the table. Morty walked over to Snakemon and picked her up. "Far be it from me to separate best friends." Morty said in a mocking tone. He laid the battered and beaten Snakemon next to Haruka.. She had tried to protect her partner by fighting against Morty Shin. "Haruka….I'm sorry." Snakemon uttered through her pain. Haruka began crying on the table. "What are you trying to do to me?" Haruka asked. "Why, Haruka, you're going to be my peoples' salvation. You will be the weapon that wipes out all other universes. These senseless wars will finally come to an end when only one universe reigns supreme." Morty explained. Haruka struggled against the straps, trying to break free. "No! No! I won't do it!" Morty chuckled. "As if you have a choice."

Owarimon's thoughts finally came back to the present. Suddenly, the remorse for her actions she had been suppressing came flooding into her mind. "I'm…a monster! I've killed innocent Digimon! I've hurt these other kids and their Digimon!" Owarimon said as she began to sob more and more bitterly. She had flashbacks to all the Digimon's data she absorbed either through Gizumon XTs collecting them or through her own red claws when All For One World finally bestowed that ability onto her. She had permanently ended the lives of many innocent Digimon. And being a former Tamer, she knew as well as anyone that Digimon aren't mere data; they are truly living things. The only difference between a human and a Digimon were that one was composed of atoms and molecules and the other was composed of 1s and 0s. Owarimon took her sword and held it up to her throat. "Morty Shin will never be able to use me again!" Before Owarimon or Haruka could run the blade through her throat, the snake protruding from her back knocked it out of her hands. "Haruka, no! Please!" Said the Snake. Owarimon continued lamenting. "Snakemon! Please don't stop me! I've lost everything! I'm nothing but a weapon who brings misery and destruction now!" Snakemon shook her head. "If you really want to atone for your actions, join the Digidestined and help them take down All For One World." Snakemon admonished.

Tritonmon, Mariamon, Chlorismon, and Feroniamon continued to fight against the various Barbamon on the field the whole time Owarimon was having her emotional breakdown. They seemed to be evenly matched! About 10 minutes had passed and the total number of Barbamon on the battlefield was still 6!

Owarimon wiped the tears from her eyes and stood up. "I'll never be able to atone for all the evil I've done." She said as she looked over at Impy still crying over the DigiEgg of his mother, Beelstarmon. She then looked back at the The Elemental Four's Digimon and all of the attacks that were being exchanged between Tritonmon, Mariamon, Chlorismon, Feroniamon, and the Barbamon clones. "But…you're right….Snakemon."

Owarimon then started running towards the battlefield. Emmett noticed this and looked worried. "Guys! Incoming! Owarimon is coming!" He shouted. He didn't know that Owarimon had actually decided to help them! "Owarimon!? Oh no!" Martin exclaimed. "This is so not cool!" Drusilla exclaimed. To their surprise though, Owarimon began attacking the Barbamon clones! "Super Thanatos Strike!" Owarimon shouted as she swung her sword and caused a black energy blade to come out of it. "Ahh!" Screamed one of the Owarimon clones as it was deleted! Owarimon kept up the attack, "Snake Bite!" She shouted as she held her arm out forward, gesturing towards Snakemon to strike at the Barbamon. The snake did as commanded and bit down on another Barbamon clone, reducing it to data particles!

Now, only 4 Barbamon remained on the field.

Everyone looked so surprised to see Owarimon attacking Barbamon's clones. "Owarimon…why are you helping us?" Chlorismon asked. Owarimon looked up at her and replied. "My name is Haruka Abe. And I will atone for all the evil I've done…starting today." She said. Chlorismon smiled brightly and a few tears started to stream down her eyes. "Yes." She said. Mariamon smiled. "I'm glad to finally have you on our side." Mariamon said.

"Super Thanatos Strike! Snake Bite! Stone Beam Barrage!" Owarimon shouted as she continued her attack. She destroyed more Barbamon clones.

The original Barbamon looked all around. He looked at the children, then their Digimon partners, and then his eyes turned to his clones. There were only 3 of his clones left. He knew he was being pushed back. But, The Elemental Four had taken some damage and used up a lot of energy as well. Barbamon was amazed that he was having this much trouble. He knew the possibility of him losing was very real. It was now time for him to unleash his ultimate attack. He had been holding back because he knew that this would take every ounce of energy he had. The last time he used it, he was unconscious for an entire month! He knew that if it failed, he'd be done for. "Everyone! Attack at once!" He commanded. All of the Barbamon raised their wands at once. Black energy began swirling around the staffs. Suddenly, Barbamon's crest emerged as a glowing symbol underneath their feet. Barbamon's crest also appeared in the sky, pointing at The Elemental Four's Digimon partners.

"Pandemonium…..LOST!!!!!!!!!!" Barbamon screamed. Suddenly, black energy shot out of the large crest! It was all of the energy of The Dark Area! This attack would delete anything in its path! The four Digimon and the four Digidestined watched in horror as this insanely powerful attack headed for them.

Feroniamon took her gloves and shoes off. When she did, her entire body was consumed in fire. The fire reached 100 feet into the sky and 50 feet around Feroniamon's body in width. Feroniamon then propelled herself off the ground and the flames surrounding her body turned blue. Drusilla looked worried for her partner. "Feroniamon, no! What are you doing!? You can't!" Drusilla shouted. Feroniamon continued flying towards the attack with a determined expression on her face. "BURNING! BODY! BLAAAAASSSSTT!!!!!!!" Feroniamon shouted as her blue-flame encased body collided with the Dark Area energy blast! She actually passed through the black energy without sustaining any damage! She flew into Barbamon's floating energy crest symbol thing and caused it to blow up! She then changed her trajectory and started headed straight down for Barbamon himself. "I-IMPOSSIBLE! NO ONE COULD DEFLECT THAT ATTACK!" Barbamon shouted. Those were his last words. Feroniamon slammed her body into his as her body exuded blue flames. "BURNING! BODY! BLAST!" Feroniamon shouted as her body made contact with Barbamon's! Barbamon screamed in agony as his digital body disintegrated into tiny data particles!

Feroniamon stood with her back facing her allies. Her red and yellow hair turned completely black and her firey wings were no longer visible. Feroniamon fell forward and collapsed on the ground. The Digidestined and Digimon watched, stunned by the epic final attack. "I-Incredible! Such incredible raw power!" Taylor exclaimed. Drusilla threw her umbrella to the ground and took her gloves off and also threw those to the ground. Then she ran over to her collapsed Digimon partner. "Feroniamon! Feroniamon! Are you ok?" Drusilla cried out. When she had made it to her partner. She flipped her over and saw that her hair was black and her wings were gone. Additionally, her whole body appeared to be scorched all over. Feroniamon came back around into consciousness. "I knew that….throwing off those shackles….would unleash my full power. But I…..just didn't know it would take this much out of me." Feroniamon said weakly. Drusilla looked concerned. Feroniamon appeared to be in bad shape. "Your own attack…did this to you?" Drusilla said. Feroniamon placed her hand on Drusilla's cheek and smiled. "Don't worry about me. I just….need to….rest." Feroniamon said weakly before losing consciousness. Feroniamon then glowed in a goldish yellow light and de-digivolved to Litmon; her In-Training form. Litmon laid on the ground fast asleep. Drusilla picked Litmon up. Feroniamon's body was blazing hot after her final attack, and Litmon's body was literally made of fire. However, Drusilla remembered that she was one of the rare members of the Devillis race immune to being burned. Holding this Digimon didn't bother her, though she did try to keep her away from her clothes. This is why she removed her gloves prior to running to her.

Agumon fell backwards. "Uggggh! I hope that's enough bad guys for one day!" Agumon complained. Taylor laughed. "Agumon, why are YOU complaining! You didn't do anything!" Taylor teased. Evander grimaced while looking at his daughter. "Heeeey! We may not have done anything, but we're emotionally exhausted! That was intense!" He said. Taylor then hugged her father with a big smile on her face. "Actually, if it weren't for you, our Digimon would have dark digivolved. Thanks for slapping me." Taylor said. Evander wrapped his arms around her. "That's not something you here every day, but you're welcome!" He said. They all laughed.

The other three Megas all de-digivolved to their In-Training forms. Demi-Naturemon ran over to Martin. "Marty Hearty! We won! We won! We won!" She said, her voice now sounding like a 3 year old's. Martin's heart melted at the sight and sound of the adorable little dryad toddler. He picked her up and nuzzled his face up against hers. "Yes we did my little darling! Yes we did!" He said enthusiastically.

The Elemental Four looked over to Owarimon. What would they do now? They couldn't take her back to World For Us All HQ, could they? Who would believe that they successfully turned her? Moreover, how can they even be sure they really had? They would have to think this over carefully before they made their next move.
