Taylor was now fully dressed. She was wearing her aquamarine short sleeved shirt, her blue shorts, red shoes, and aquamarine socks, with the pair of goggles she inherited from her dad over her forehead. She walked down the street carrying Sharkmon in her arms. The events of that day played through her mind over and over; Bob's murder at the hands of Gizumon XT, Sharkmon's fight with Gizumon XT, Sharkmon losing, and Sharkmon digivolving into Jawsmon after a digivice appeared in her hands. She had entered the suburbs of Tokyo city. "Where are we going, Taylor?" Sharkmon asked. "We're heading back to my house. My Mom should be making dinner by now." Taylor said. The sun had just set. The streets were lit by street lights. Sharkmon looked up at her confused. "What's a Mom? Is that another type of Digimon?" Sharkmon asked. Taylor smiled and giggled. "No, silly. A mom is someone who gives birth to children." Taylor explained. Sharkmon wasn't following. "Let me put it another way; a mom is someone who is responsible for making more humans - or, a half human in my case. Just as you Digimon come from eggs, so we come from moms." Taylor explained. "Wooow! Moms sound amazing!" Sharkmon said. Taylor let out another slight giggle. "Yep. And moms are also responsible for raising us until we're all grown up." Sharkmon looked confused again. "Grow….up?" "Yes. It's…it's like digivolution." Taylor said. Digimon didn't procreate and grow the way humans did. Some Digimon did have "parents" (i.e higher level Digimon who looked after them until they were strong enough to fend for themselves), but they certainly didn't sire offspring. Data in the Digital World just kept recycling itself in a series of Digimon births, Digimon deaths resulting in DigiEggs, and more Digimon births. Taylor was doing her best to translate her human situation into terminology that her Digimon would understand.
"Oh! Digivolution! So, you're going to turn into a ripped monster as well?" Sharkmon said. Taylor's expression changed to an expression that conveyed WTH. In her mind, she imagined herself spontaneously transforming into a majorly buff adult mermaid. "I am MegaTaylormon! Fear my mighty muscles!" the ripped Taylor in her daydream said before bending a bar of steel with her bare hands. Taylor laughed and said "Well, I'll get bigger, but hopefully not like Jawsmon."
They turned a corner and came up to Taylor's house. The mailbox had a sign below it that said "The Glovions". "Heeeeeey! You're just in time!" Shouted a high pitched voice. Taylor and Sharkmon looked up to see a big green and white rabbit standing on top of the house. He jumped off the roof and glided down using his massive ears. "It's my dad's Terriermon!" Taylor said, smiling. She liked Terriermon. Out of all three of her Dad's Digimon, Terriermon was her favorite. She thought he was just the cutest thing ever, and he played with her a lot when she was a toddler. When Terriermon landed, he looked up at Taylor. "Your timing couldn't be better. Your mom just finished setting the table." Terriermon said. "What are we having tonight?" Taylor asked. "Chicken and rice with vegetables." Terriermon responded. "Mmmmm. I love Mom's Vegetable Chicken and Rice." Taylor said, savoring the thought of what she was about to eat. Terriermon pointed to Sharkmon. "Hey, you know what Jessica said about pets." Terriermon said. Sharkmon looked irked. "I'm no pet! I'm a Digimon!" Sharkmon barked. Terriermon looked startled. "Whoa! So you are!" Terriermon replied in astonishment. Taylor looked down at the astonished Terriermon and then back at Sharkmon who was still in her arms. "Wait, do you mean you've never seen this Digimon species before either?" Taylor said. Terrermon shook his head. "Not in my whole life." Sharkmon hopped down from Taylor's arms. "Then allow me to introduce myself. I'm Sharkmon." "And I'm Terriermon." The two Digimon shook hands, err…hand and claw.
Taylor, Sharkmon, and Terriermon went inside. Jessica was sitting at the dining room table with Agumon, Gabumon, Leormon, Ladybugmon, and Pawnchessmon. The only one not present was her father, Evander. There were a lot of chairs at the table. With 6 Digimon and a daughter, the Glovion residence was a full house. Jessica had made a lot of money from her book sales. one book was called "Mermaids: Separating Fact From Fiction" and the other was titled "From Mermaid Princess To Playing Human". The latter was her autobiography, and the former was a non-fiction book answering various questions about the Aqualian race and planet. The book was aimed at Earthling human readers, who had only found out the Aqualians even existed a decade ago after they invaded Earth as part of a plot by Ophanimon Falldown Mode. So, she bought a house in the suburbs of Tokyo and moved out of their apartment. But given that Evander's workplace was at Nakano Broadway, they still had to live within a reasonable driving distance.
"Welcome home, darling. Did you have fun at Plankton Park?" Jessica said. Jessica was wearing a dark blue tank top and light blue shorts. "Hi, Mom. I…did. At first. It's a long story. I'll tell you when Dad gets here." Taylor said. Jessica looked over at Gabumon. "I think you'll have to go fetch him." Jessica said. Gabumon saluted. "Yes, mam!" Gabumon said before getting up from the table and running past Taylor. Taylor sat down and sighed. "Let me guess. He's been in the basement all day again." Taylor said. Jessica nodded. "At this point, I might as well consider him an absentee father." Taylor thought to herself, feeling irritated at the thought of her father. After a few moments, a disheveled Evander emerged. Evander rubbed the back of his head. He was wearing a wrinkly trench coat, he looked like he had bed head, and under the trench coat was an orange T-shirt and a pair of boxer shorts. Taylor looked at her father appalled. "For Pete's sake, Dad! Would it kill you to at least put some pants on?" Taylor said in an irritated voice. Evander's eyes looked a little dark, like he hadn't slept in a couple of days. He chuckled and patted his daughter on the head, moving his hand back and forth, messing her hair up. "Sorry about that my little mermaid, it gets a little hot down there in the basement. I totally forgot I wasn't wearing any. I'll go fetch some." Evander said. "No need." Jessica said. Jessica reached down into her lap and held up a pair of blue jeans. Evidently, this is not the first time this had happened. "Thanks, honey." Evander said. Evander grabbed the pants and put them on, one leg at a time.
"Could you not call me your little mermaid? Not only is that movie a complete and total misrepresentation of our people, but the book it's based on is depressing as Hell." Taylor said in an annoyed voice.
"Hey, hey, watch your language. And what's wrong with that nickname? You are little and you are a mermaid, are you not?" Evander said.
"Well, sure, I suppose it fits. But did Grandma call you her little human when you were little?" Taylor asked rhetorically. Taylor really didn't particularly like her Dad that much and didn't get along with him well. The reason is because she felt neglected by him. She hardly ever saw him. He worked all day at the Kuremi Detective Agency, and when he came home, he would immediately go into the basement to continue working on detective cases. He never really left work.
Sharkmon looked a little irritated. "Excuse me! Has no one noticed my presence?!" Sharkmon said. Everyone looked surprised. "Did that stuffed animal just talk?" Evander said. "I think it did!" Agumon said. "IT'S POSSESSED! CALL THE EXORCIST! Wait, we're not Catholic! Will priests help us if we're not Catholics!?" Ladybugmon said, starting to panic. Terriermon jumped up and down waving his arms. "Ladybugmon, calm down! This is no stuffed animal or demon! This is a Digimon. His name is Sharkmon." Terriermon said.
"A Digimon? I've never seen this species before." Agumon said.
"Neither have I. And I've seen lots of Digimon in my time. I mean, I'm a perpetual Rookie level, but I'm actually in my 40s." Gabumon said.
"Gabumon, you bring up a good point. Maybe we ought to fight more so we can digivolve naturally instead of artificially by digivice. Here in Japan, the Rookie level is called the Child level. I don't want people thinking of us as children." Leormon said.
Taylor motioned both of her hands to get everyone to stop talking. "Hold on! Hold on! Hold on! Are you all saying that NONE of you have seen a Sharkmon before?" Taylor asked. "It's a new one to me." Pawnchessmon said. Evander reached into his pocket and got out his D-Smartphone; a Digivice that heavily resembled a smartphone. He tapped the screen a few times. "Let me pull up it's stats on the Digimon Analyzer." Evander said. He pointed the back of the Digivice at Sharkmon. He got no results. "No results? Hold on. Let me do a search specifically by name." Evander said. Evander typed the name of the Digimon in. The screen said "No Results. Did you mean Sparrowmon?" Evander growled "No, I did not mean Sparrowmon." Taylor looked really surprised now. It's one thing for these veteran Digidestined and their Digimon to have never seen a Sharkmon before, it's another thing entirely for the Digimon Analyzer not to know about it. But at least now she didn't feel so bad about not knowing about Sharkmon.
"Well, Sharkmon. It's nice to meet you. I hope you enjoy my Vegetable Chicken and Rice dish." Jessica said. Sharkmon smiled. "Thank you."
They said grace and began eating. Sharkmon once again inhaled its food, finishing its plate in seconds! Sharkmon smiled. "More please!" He said. Jessica and everyone else looked astonished at the Digimon eating so much in so little time. Halfway through the meal, it occurred to Taylor that she forgot to mention the events of her day. "Mom, Dad, Digimon," Taylor began, "I need to tell you something." "What is it sweetie?" Jessica asked. Taylor took her Digivice out of her pocket and held it up. Everyone's expression changed, indicating their surprise. "Is that what I think it is?" Evander asked. "If you think it's a digivice, then that's exactly what it is." Taylor said.
"Earlier today, when we were playing in Plankton Park, these mechanical Digimon called Gizumon appeared. They attacked Digimon and permanently deleted them. They killed them so they left no DigiEgg behind. I fought them with all my might but I got beat up pretty bad. Then Taylor held up this digivice and I changed form. I got lots stronger and I defeated them all!" Sharkmon explained. Evander rubbed his scraggly beard. "That means Taylor's a Digidestined like we are." Evander said, sounding concerned. "Yep! And I'm her partner Digimon!" Sharkmon said happily.
"I've never seen that model before. How is it different from my D-Smartphone or even the D-Powers your father and I used when we were your age?" Jessica asked.
Taylor shrugged. "I'm not sure. I'll fiddle around with it after dinner."
Everyone finished their meal, and Taylor went up to her room. Later that night, she was in bed in her room. It was dark and Sharkmon was asleep next to her. She fiddled with her digivice. She rolled around the little rubber ball in the center. This helped her navigate the menu. "Hmm…so it looks like…" She muttered as she scrolled the menu. There was a little icon that looked like sprite art of Greymon on the menu. It said "Digivolve" under it. The next option had a little book icon and had the words "Digimon Analyzer" under it, the next option said "Call" and had a telephone icon above the word "Call". The next option had an icon that looked like gates. It said "Open DigiPort".
The next morning, Taylor was changing in her bedroom. She slipped out of her pajama top and bottoms, revealing a tiny black tube top and small loincloth underneath. She always wore these under her clothes in place of regular underwear so she could go mermaid anytime, anywhere. She pulled an aquamarine shirt over her head and put her blue shorts on. She grabbed her goggles sitting on her computer desk and gently placed them over her head. Sharkmon was still sleeping, but Taylor managed to wake him up. "Taylor, what are you doing?" Sharkmon asked. "I'm getting ready for school." Taylor said. "School? Can I come?" Sharkmon asked. Taylor thought for a moment. "Perhaps. I mean, Digimon work as faculty, I don't see why you couldn't enroll as a student." Taylor said.
After they had breakfast, Taylor and Sharkmon headed out. Taylor's house was a two story house with 3 bedrooms, a bathroom, a living room, a kitchen, and a laundry room. It wasn't huge, but it was bigger than an apartment. Taylor and Sharkmon headed southwest, past Nakano Mastugaoko Park, a place Taylor and her friend Drusilla played a lot when they were little (and still do…when Drusilla can convince Taylor to stay out of the ocean that is). Arai Elementary School was where Taylor attended for education. As an 11 year old who was never held back, this was her last year before moving onto middle school. Taylor often thought she'd look cute in a Sailor Fuku outfit; the school uniform for middle schooled girls in Japan. She was looking forward to it. Arai Elementary School was a short walking distance from her house. As soon as she passed Nakano Matsugaoko Park, she heard yelling "YOU'RE GOING TO BE LATE FOR YOUR FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL!!!! MOVE YOUR BUTT!!!" Taylor and Sharkmon looked back to see a red haired boy rushing out of the house with a backpack on and lunchbox in hand. "I'm sorry, Mom!!!" He yelled. A red haired woman poked her head out of the door and yelled "And you'd better get straight As!" The woman who poked her head out of the door had short red hair that curled up on both ends at about her shoulder. On her head were cat ears. A Demi-Felincius. The boy also had cat ears, but he also strangely had human ears on the side of his head. The boy looked back and shouted "Yes, mam!" Because he looked back and didn't stop running, he couldn't tell that Taylor was standing right there.
Wham! He ran into her, causing them both to land right on their kiesters. They both rubbed their heads, moaning in pain. "Ow. Where's the fire?" Taylor asked. The red haired cat eared boy rubbed his head. His head had collided with Taylor's. "I'm so sorry. My Mom's motto is that if you're on time, you're late." He said. He had his eyes closed while he was rubbing his aching head. He opened them to see Taylor's face for the first time. The boy immediately blushed. Taylor got up and brushed herself off. "It's fine. I'm not hurt. What about you?" She asked. The boy was silent, still blushing. "Ummm….yeah, I'm-I'm ok." He responded. "Your mom said you were late for school, are you heading to Arai Elementary too?" Taylor asked. He nodded. "Y-yeah. I am." He replied. "Do you want to walk together?" Taylor responded. "Uhh…sure." He said.
"My name is Taylor Glovion. What's yours?"
"I-I-I-I-I'm Soleman. Martin Soleman. Meet to nice you. I mean you to nice meet! I mean nice to meet you!" He said, flustered. No doubt about it, he was crushing hard on this girl. He thought she was Cute with a capital C.
"And I'm Sharkmon!" Sharkmon said.
They resumed walking to school.
"Did you just recently move here? You live just a couple of doors down from me, but I've never seen you before." Taylor said.
"Yeah, we just moved in yesterday. My Mom and Dad are apparently friends with a couple who are digidestined like they are. Evander and Jessica, I think they're called. We came from the United States. As you can tell by my ears, my Mom is a Demi-Felincius." Martin explained.
"Wait, Evander and Jessica? Those are MY parents!" Taylor said.
"Wow! Really? I've heard so many stories about them and their adventures saving the Digital World. I can't wait to meet them!" Martin said.
They arrived at school, and began their studies. Taylor Glovion was sitting at the desk by the window, because she's the protagonist and that's sort of a rule. Taylor gazed out the window lost in thought. Martin was sitting at the desk right next to her. "What incredible luck! I got seated right next to Taylor! Now I can gaze at her beauty with ease." He thought to himself. He was staring at her the entire time Taylor was staring out the window. Taylor was thinking about what came next; what was she meant to do as a Digidestined? She gave Evander the man's description, and he said he'd start looking into it, but what would SHE do? "Miss Glovion, am I boring you?" Said the voice of the teacher. Taylor's attention was turned back to her teacher. Her teacher was a short Agumon wearing a lab coat that was way too big for him, and he carried a metal stick shaped like Mamemon that he used to point at things on the PowerPoint slides. This wasn't her dad's Agumon, this was a different Agumon. "No, sorry, Professor Agumon. I just have a lot on my mind." Taylor candidly admitted. Professor Agumon nodded in understanding. "Quite alright, Miss Glovion. This life can bring upon us many troubles. I'm always here if you want to talk about it, but please do your best to pay attention so you can get good grades." He said. Taylor nodded. "Yes sir." Martin looked concerned.
At recess, Taylor and Sharkmon were sitting on a swing. Sharkmon was swinging up and down, going really high, but Taylor's swing wasn't moving at all. Martin approached her. He felt his heart fluttering a little as he approached her. "Taylor?" He asked. "C-c-c-c-c-can I ask you what's been troubling you?" Taylor explained everything. "I see." Martin said. Martin got a text on his phone. Evidently, she had sent him messages every 10 minutes. "Did you make it to school ok?" "Make sure you have a healthy lunch." "Did you arrive ok!?" "ARE YOU OK!? PLEASE ANSWER ME!" said the texts. Martin sighed. He texted back "I'm fine. Couldn't answer texts while in school. Made a new friend."
At the end of the day, Taylor, Martin, and Sharkmon headed back. Martin got another text from Flora. "Son, who's the friend you made?" "Son?" "ARE YOU OK? OH MY GOSH! SOMETHING TERRIBLE HAS HAPPENED TO YOU, HASN'T IT!?" "MARTIN SOLEMAN, PLEASE ANSWER ME!" Martin gave a loud sigh. Taylor looked over at him. "You sigh at your phone a lot." She observed. Martin conked his head over and closed his eyes. "It's my mom. She's a bit overprotective and if I don't respond to her texts in a timely manner, she has a bit of a fit and turns on the caps lock." Martin said. "Wow! I'm surprised she even lets you walk to school on your own." Taylor replied. Martin opened his eyes and lifted his head up. "Back in America, she didn't. She always made her Palmon and Gatomon accompany me." Martin said. Taylor got a text on her phone too. She looked and saw that it was Jessica asking her to pick up some milk. "I got a text from my Mom too. I've got to pick something up at the convenience store. See ya later." Taylor said before diverting her path.
Martin was getting close to home, and was at Nakano Matsugaoka Park. He heard a feminine voice go "OOOOH!!! CHERRY BLOSSOMS ARE SOOOOOOO PRETTY!" He looked over to see a girl who looked to be about Taylor and Martin's age. She had short shoulder length hair, brown wooden heels, and had leaves growing on both the back and front of her legs. Her neck and arms were covered in wood. She had a spear strapped to her back. Her lower privates were clothed in leaves, and she bore her midriff. Two vines were coming out of the back of her neck and were draped over her torso. "You must like cherry blossoms." Martin observed. The girl turned around and looked at him. She had a bright smile across her face. "I absolutely do! They're so beautiful! This is the first lush set of trees I've seen since I woke up in this world!" Martin raised an eyebrow. "T-this world? What world do you come from?" He asked. The green haired girl put one finger up to her lip and twisted her hair with the other finger, thinking hard. "Hmm….I'm not sure. I remember…..a giant tree….and…..lots of fire. And….Digimon. I don't remember anything else. I've been wandering around all day. Oh! But a nice Triceramon treated me to some hamburgers! He was suuuper nice!." The girl answered.
"Waking up in a strange world? No memory of where she comes from? This sounds similar to Sharkmon's situation." Martin thought to himself. The green haired vegetation-covered girl resumed looking at the cherry blossoms in Martin's silence. "Are YOU a Digimon?" He asked. The green haired girl didn't hear his question. She was too busy giggling while admiring the cherry blossoms. Martin took a couple of steps forward and put his hand on her wooden shoulder. "Excuse me." Martin repeated. "Are you a Digimon?" Martin asked. The green haired vegetation-covered girl put her finger on her lip again. "Hmm….I think I am. My name is Naturemon, and every Digimon I've met in this city has their name end in mon, so….I must be!" She answered. "She had to infer that she's a Digimon from the suffix in her name? Her amnesia must be even worse than Sharkmon's." Martin thought to himself. "I'm Martin. Marin Soleman. Nice to meet you." He said extending a hand to shake it. Naturemon looked down at his hand, confused, not knowing what to do. She bent over and licked his palm. "What in the world!? Why did you do that!?" Martin said, a little grossed out.
Naturemon looked even more confused. "I thought you were offering me an invisible snack!" She said. "Umm…no. I wanted to shake your hand. It's a way we greet each other." Martin bowed. Naturemon put her fist in her palm with the look of realization on her face. She bowed and then grabbed Martin's hand and wiggled it a little. Naturemon then started to look sad. She sighed. "What's wrong, Naturemon?" Martin asked. "I want to see more plants. I want to see flowers. Lots and lots of pretty flowers. But there's so many buildings around here and not many flowers." Naturemon said in a dour tone. Martin smiled. "My mom is a florist. There are lots and lots of flowers at her shop. It's a bit far from here, so we'll have to visit tomorrow." Martin said. Naturemon got very giddy and gave Martin a very tight embrace. "Oh Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!" Naturemon said.
Flora Soleman had always loved flower arranging, gardening, and anything involving plants. In fact, she was quite skilled at making natural remedies from herbs. This was a skill she picked up as a child when she lived on Felincius. She just started her first day of work at Florist Hashano.
Naturemon pulled back from her embrace and asked, "Hey, I've got a great idea!" She said. "What?" Asked Martin. "I really like you, so let's be friends!" Naturemon said. Martin chuckled a little and smiled. "Oh, ok!" This Digimon was something else. His impression of her was that she was blunt, straight to the point, and a little ditzy. But she was very nice and kind of cute. Naturemon looked mad and made a pouty face. She growled. Martin looked confused. "W-what?" Martin said. "You didn't tell me you liked me back! Do you not like me?" Naturemon interrogated. Martin rapidly shook his head with his palms extended outward and his arms bent in a little. "Yes! Yes! I like you! I like you very much!" Martin said defensively. Naturemon's dour disposition turned happy again. "VERY much!? OoOOOOOOHHH!!!" She squealed before hugging Martin again. Martin blushed. Martin suddenly got a notification on his phone that sounded like a small siren. He pulled his phone out of his pocket and took a look at it. It was a News Alert. He tapped on the notification and it brought up a live feed of a Triceramon rampaging through Tokyo. The anchorwoman was a green skinned woman with three eyes. "Tokyo News reporting. In Tokyo city, a Triceramon has been seen rampaging, causing massive damage to buildings and cars. So far, it is uncertain if anyone has been injured or killed. Occupants are advised to evacuate the area." She reported. "This is bad! I've got to tell my Mom. She and her Digimon can…" Martin said, but before he could finish, Naturemon removed her arms (which had previously been around his neck) and started running. Martin took off after her. "Wait! Naturemon! Where are you going!?" He asked.
Naturemon took the spear off of her back and held it in her right hand while she ran. She looked back at Martin and said "To stop Triceramon! Innocent people will get hurt if I don't!" Naturemon said. Martin continued running after her. "But my Mom and Dad have Digimon that can handle this!" Martin protested. Naturemon didn't listen.
It was a bit of a long run, but they finally made it to the area where Triceramon was rampaging. Martin's shoe had come untied and she tripped and fell right on his face. "Ow!" Martin called out. Naturemon looked back and bent down to help her new friend up. "Are you alright?" She asked. Martin had a bit of a bloody lip where he fell. "Kind of." He replied.
Naturemon looked in the direction of the Triceramon who was banging a truck up against a sky scraper, shattering the windows. "Triceramon! What's wrong!? Why are you doing this!?" Naturemon shouted. The Triceramon didn't respond. It just hurled the car in their direction. Martin screamed and ducked. Naturemon ducked as well. The car whizzed above their head and skidded down the road, making sparks. Triceramon extended both arms out and let out a loud roar. On Triceramon's chest was a glowing red mark! Martin noticed this and suddenly had a flashback of when he was younger of his mother, Flora, telling him about how Digimon she encountered when she was a child would rampage because of being branded with a red mark that gave a girl called "The Digimon Ruler" control over them. The Digimon Ruler caused the Digimon to rampage to assert her dominance, for she wanted to rule the Digital World. But Flora also told him that The Digimon Ruler turned over a new leaf after a NeoDevimon she had been controlling went OUT of control and killed her partner, Lopmon. "It can't be." Martin said.
Triceramon jumped up and down and smashed some more cars. People of various different alien races and Digimon were fleeing the area. "Triceramon, if you don't stop, I'll have to fight you!" Naturemon said. Still, the Triceramon didn't listen. Instead it groaned as though it were in pain. It went over to another building and began banging it's head on it. Naturemon's expression turned serious. "You were the first face I saw when I came to this world, and you were so nice to me. But…I can't let you rampage." She said.
Naturemon ran up to Triceramon with spear in hand. Naturemon hopped onto Triceramon's tail and ran up his back. "Spear Jab!" Naturemon yelled as she jabbed Triceramon with her spear. The spear struck Triceramon in the back but did no damage. "Spear Jab! Spear Jab! Spear Jab! Spear Jab!" Naturemon attacked repeatedly. Triceramon reached up and grabbed Naturemon. He then threw her down to the ground as though spiking a football. Naturemon cried out in pain as she slammed into the concrete road back first. Martin looked concerned. "Naturemon!" He cried out. Naturemon sat up, groaning in pain. "Vine Vengeance!" Naturemon shouted. Thorn covered vines protruded from the exposed flesh on her lower back and struck the enemy, repeatedly whipping and slashing him. Triceramon didn't look like it was getting hurt. It looked more annoyed than anything. Triceramon grabbed one of the vines coming out of Naturemon's body and used to sling her into the side of a building. One he hadn't destroyed yet. Naturemon cried out in pain again as she hit solid concrete face first before falling several feet onto the concrete below. Naturemon groaned loudly. She looked like she struggled to get up. Triceramon was throwing no soft balls. Naturemon again ran towards Triceramon. "Vine Vengeance! Vine Vengeance! Vine Vengeance!" Naturemon shouted repeatedly. Thorn covered vines protruded from the exposed flesh on her lower back and struck the enemy, repeatedly whipping and slashing him. Triceramon didn't look like it was getting hurt. It looked annoyed again. Once again it grabbed Naturemon's vines and used it to sling her. As Naturemon was being hurled through the air, she thought to herself "If I can just control my fall…" She made sure her body was horizontal so that when she hit another building, she could jump off of it. That's exactly what she did. She used her vines to grab ahold of a nearby street light and gently lower herself to the bottom.
Naturemon took off in Triceramon's direction again. "This isn't right. Digimon don't just rampage for no reason. I've got to subdue him so I can find out what's wrong." Naturemon said to herself. Martin looked at Naturemon amazed. She was like a small child who had too much sugar before. Now, she was serious. It was like her personality had changed. Naturemon diverted her course and ran over to Martin. She raised her arm up to him. "I'm covered in owies! Kiss it and make it better!" Martin's expression was this emoticon → (-_-) ← and a large sweat drop went down the back of his head. Maaaaaybe it hadn't changed. "Come on. What are you waiting for? Kiss my owies." Naturemon said. Just then, they heard a loud roar from above them. It was Triceramon, he had run over to the both of them and was upon them before they knew it! Triceramon took his arm and shattered multiple windows above them! Multiple shards of broken glass rained down right above them. Instinctively, Naturemon grabbed Martin and shielded him with her body. A sizeable number of cuts appeared on Naturemon's body, and dark blue fluid drained from the wounds. Dark blue was the color of a Digimon's blood. Martin was trembling. He realized that Naturemon had shielded him with her own body. "N-Naturemon….why did you…?" He said. Naturemon grunted in pain. "Isn't it obvious? I told….you. I like you." Naturemon said before standing back up and removing three large shards of glass sticking out of the exposed part of her back. Dark blue blood was flowing down Naturemon's face, forcing her to have one of her eyes shut to prevent her Digi-Blood from going in.
Naturemon raised her spear to attack again, but when she tried to run, she collapsed. Martin ran over to her and caught her. "Naturemon!" He said. "I have to keep fighting. There's something wrong with Triceramon. Digimon don't attack for no reason. I….think he's in pain." Naturemon said. "But why does it have to be you? Why can't it be someone else? My Mom and Dad have Digimon that are super strong! Guilmon, and Agumon, and Palmon, and Gatomon. Let them fight!" Martin pleaded. Naturemon was silent for a moment. "Get out of here." Naturemon said. "No, I won't leave you!" Martin said. "Get ou-" Naturemon was about to repeat herself but before she could, Triceramon had grabbed her and lifted her up. He had her tightly gripped in his hand. She was like the size of an action figure to him. Triceramon raised his arm up high, about to spike Naturemon like a football again!
Martin felt a strong emotion well up inside him. "NATUREMON!!!!!" He shouted at the top of his lungs. Suddenly, a bright light appeared and blinded Triceramon momentarily. The light was in the form of a white orb. It descended down from about 10 feet into the air and landed in the cat boy's hands. The light faded, revealing a small technological device. It had a small square screen, a rubber sphere in the center like the rubber balls that used to be at the bottom of computer mice. The square screen and the 90s computer mouse esqe ball were surrounded by green plastic that made a sort of U shape, and on the sides were rubber grips that were also green. Martin looked at the device. "This looks the same as Taylor's." Martin said. When Taylor had explained what was on her mind earlier on the school playground, she showed him her digivice. It was exactly the same as hers, except his was green instead of blue.
Martin held up the digivice above his head and shouted "NATUREMON, DIGIVOLVE NOW!" The digivice's screen had the words "DIGIVOLUTION" on the screen. The digivice then shot a beam of light fired from the Digivice and enveloped Naturemon's body, causing it to glow white.
"Naturemon digivolve to…..MotherNaturemon!"
Naturemon was now taller, standing at about 5'8, to the 4 feet she was before. Whereas Naturemon looked like an 11 year old girl, MotherNaturemon looked like a grown woman. An older version of the Digimon. Her green hair was much longer, and she was holding a bow. A quiver full of arrows was on her back. A green piece of clothing covered her torso, crotch, and buttox area, but exposed the midriff, and didn't cover her arms or shoulders. She had two roses over her - now much larger - breasts. The leaves that covered the front and back of her legs were now a variety of beautiful flowers. Out of the lower part of her back were two tree branches protruding. And the dark blue blood that covered her was now gone. Martin looked amazed. "Wow! She's beautiful!" He said. MotherNaturemon looked at her hands and down at her body. "I….digivolved? Why?" She said, confused at what just happened. Martin ran up and stood beside her. "You digivolved because I like you…very much." He said with a smile and holding up his digivice. MotherNaturemon smiled, and then turned her attention back to Triceramon.
MotherNaturemon grabbed an arrow out of her quiver and put it into her bow. "Nature's Arrow!" She shouted before firing the arrow. The arrow coursed with electrical energy. Triceramon knocked it away with his tail.
MotherNaturemon looked annoyed that her attack didn't work. Martin then suddenly realized that his Digimon probably didn't know what he knew about the red marks. "MotherNaturemon! Aim for the red mark on his chest!" Martin said. MotherNaturemon nodded. "Right." She said. MotherNaturemon got another arrow out of her quiver and put it in her bow. She aimed carefully at the red mark, closing one of her eyes to improve her aim. "Nature's Arrow!" She shouted. She unleashed the electricity covered arrow. Triceramon put his hand in front of the red mark to protect it! Because of Triceramon's thick scales, the arrow did no damage even to his hand. "No good! He's covering the red mark." MotherNaturemon said.
MotherNaturemon thought for a second. "I have an idea." MotherNaturemon said. MotherNaturemon ran over to Triceramon, jumped up on his back and started twirling horizontally. She was spinning so fast that she looked like a giant BeyBlade. "Tree Twirl!" She shouted. The large leafed tree branches protruding from her back slapped Triceramon in the head repeatedly. Triceramon grunted in pain each time one of the tree branches hit him in the head. MotherNaturemon stopped spinning. Triceramon staggered a bit. He was obviously dizzy. MotherNaturemon Jumped off of Triceramon and quickly turned around while he was disoriented. She aimed at the red mark on his chest. "Nature's Arrow!" the arrow flew towards Triceramon and hit the red mark dead center! The red mark disintegrated! Triceramon was too disoriented to counter. "You did it!" Martin cheered.
MotherNaturemon turned back to Martin and gave a big grin. "I did it! I did it! I did it!" She cheered while jumping up and down. She ran over to Martin and embraced him again. "And it's all because of you! You caused me to digivolve!" Martin's face was buried in MotherNaturemon's large rose covered breasts. "Mmmffmmfmffffmmm!" He said, unable to speak for being buried in Digibosom. Well, at least the roses smelled nice.
MotherNaturemon let go of Martin and turned to look at Triceramon. He was groaning. He slowly sat up and looked around. "Oh my goodness. Look at the damage I've caused." He said, sounding distressed. MotherNaturemon walked over to Triceramon. "Triceramon, what happened?" She asked. "Some strange men in uniforms placed a red looking gem on my chest. They had some sprite art of an Agumon on their shirts with a cancel symbol over it with the letters C.A.D on it. After that, I felt this burning sensation come over me, and before I knew it, I was on a rampage! I was aware of everything I was doing, but I couldn't stop myself! It was like I was a puppet on a string!" Triceramon said. "That sounds awful!" MotherNaturemon said. MotherNaturemon looked and saw that Triceramon was bleeding dark blue blood from where she had pierced him with her arrow. MotherNaturemon said "Bend down here and let me tend to your wound." He did so. MotherNaturemon pulled the arrow out and put her hands over Triceramon's wound. Her hands glowed in a golden light. "Motherly Love." She said. In a single second, Triceramon's wound was completely recovered! Triceramon looked surprised. He ran his hand over the place where the wound had been. "Incredible! I'm completely healed! Why would you do this for me after I nearly killed you?" Triceramon said. MotherNaturemon closed her eyes and smiled. "Like you said. It's not your fault. It was that red mark, right? Besides, I had to repay you for feeding me earlier." MotherNaturemon took a hold of Triceramon's hand and kissed it. "You'd best be off now." MotherNaturemon said. Martin looked at his Digimon and smiled. He hadn't known his Digimon for more than maybe an hour, but he already could tell that MotherNaturemon was a very benevolent soul overflowing with love for others. Perhaps at the "Child" level, this manifests itself in less than mature ways. Triceramon left and MotherNaturemon de-digivolved.
Later, Martin and Naturemon arrived at the Soleman Residence, which was two doors down from the Glovion residence. Martin got a text. He pulled his phone out of his pocket and looked down at it. The text was from Taylor. "Sorry I couldn't help with Triceramon! The milk I bought was spoiled and Sharkmon spent the last hour throwing up! But I saw your battle on the news! Good job, fellow new digidestined!" and it ended with a smiley emoji. Martin smiled. He started typing. "Thanks." Taylor was apparently online right then, as she replied instantly. "What's your Digimon's name?" Martin responded. "Naturemon." The ellipses appeared on his phone again indicating Taylor was typing. "She's a cutie! :-D" Martin typed "I can't disagree." Taylor then responded, "Let's have a bite at K-Kafe in Nakano Broadway tomorrow after school. Let's have our Digimon meet." Martin typed "Ok."
Naturemon poked Martin in the shoulder. "Are we going to stand out here all night or are we going inside? I'm getting cold." Naturemon asked. It was still early spring. Boutique.com says "Spring in Japan lasts from about mid-March to May, depending on the location. The weather in spring is notoriously fickle, with temperatures ranging from approximately 40 to 65 °F (4 to 18 °C). On some days you may still want your winter coat, while on other days you may not even need a sweater." Martin saw the thermometer on his phone was reading 50 degrees Fahrenheit. Martin looked over to his Digimon and smiled. "You're right. Let's get you inside." He said. Naturemon wasn't actually wearing that many clothes. Aside from green metal wrist bands and wooden breast plate, most of the things covering her actually came from her own body, such as the leaves covering her legs, the wood over her arms, and the pile of leaves forming a small bushy skirt reminiscent of what Adam and Eve wore in artistic depictions of Genesis 3. Nothing on her provided any sort of warmth. She just wasn't a Digimon built for cold habitats. She was embracing herself and shivering. Martin and Naturemon walked up three tile steps which lead to a very narrow rectangular hole that had a ceiling overhead, with the front door to the house on the right. Martin used his key to unlock and open the door. "I'm home!" He called out. Flora came running down the stairs and ran up to Martin. She looked furious! "You're in big trouble, mister! I have texted you multiple times today and you just ignored me! Now I know what you're going to say 'Oh, but Mom! I did get back to you!'! Yeah, after I practically had to annoy the crap out of you with text after text after text! Do you know what goes through my mind when you don't respond? 'Maybe he's been kidnapped by some pedo!' 'Maybe he's been hit by a car when he tried to cross the street and ended up as an isekai protagonist!' 'Maybe he's fooling around with some girl and getting her pregnant!' 'Maybe he got hit by a car and did NOT become an isekai protagonist, but is freaking dead!'" Flora ranted.
Martin just stood there listening to all of it. This was normal. His mother was overprotective as heck! Occasionally, he thought about leaving some anonymous posts on the R/Insane Parents thread on Reddit. He tried not to be mad at her. He wondered why she wasn't mad that he went to a dangerous area to fight an Ultimate level Digimon. She probably hadn't turned on the news. He thought that if she didn't bring it up, he wouldn't. "Mom, we've been over this before. I can't always respond to your texts as soon as I get them. Especially when I'm at school." Martin said, defending himself. "Don't you talk back to me mister!" Flora barked. Typical parent. Whenever the child makes a good point, they pull the disrespect card. Martin sighed "I'm not talking back." Flora began poking Martin's chest. "And why are you home so late? School ended several hours ago!"
Flora looked over and noticed Naturemon. Flora blew up, "I KNEW IT! A GIRL! YOU WERE FOOLING AROUND WITH A GIRL!" If she were an anime character her eyes would be filled with fire, her teeth would look like shark's teeth, and there would be nothing but fire in the background. She then burst into tears that, again, were she an anime character would probably be like busted fire hydrants spewing streams of water to the right and to the left. "I'm too young to be a grandmother! Son, why? Why must you do this to me?" Naturemon looked confused. What did she mean by "fooling around with her"? "We weren't fooling around. I was fighting a huge monster and Martin helped me." Naturemon explained. Flora sank to the floor and continued her melodramatic crying. "Is that what girls are calling it these days?"
Martin rolled his eyes and groaned. "Oh, for Pete's sake. This girl is Naturemon. She's my Digimon partner." Martin explained. Martin pulled out his green digivice and showed it to her. "This thing appeared when we were fighting Triceramon." Martin explained. "And it enabled me to digivolve into MotherNaturemon." Naturemon added. Flora was silent for a moment. Did she finally understand? Naturemon looked so much like a human girl that you couldn't blame her for inferring that. Indeed, even Martin had to ask whether she was a Digimon. She could have been cosplaying with all that foliage or she could have been an alien race he hadn't met before. Earth had become multi-ethnic in a way more than just different color variations of humans. Flora's rage flared up again, "YOU WERE FIGHTING A DIGIMON!?" But then she calmed down. She really hadn't seen the news. "Well…as long as you're ok." She turned to Naturemon with a slight smile. "Naturemon, is it? Thank you for protecting my son. He's very precious to me." Flora said. Naturemon grinned brightly. "You got it, Mom!" Naturemon said. "Mom?" Flora said in confusion. "That's your name, isn't it?" Naturemon replied. "Mom is just what I call her, because she's my mother. I think you ought to call her Flora." Martin explained.
Later that night, Martin was getting ready for bed. He got into his pajamas and slipped into bed. Naturemon was just standing in the room looking concerned. "Marty, where should I sleep?" She asked. Martin hadn't thought of that. "Oh, uhh….the couch?" Martin said. Naturemon jumped up onto the bed and crawled under the covers. "I have a better idea! This bed looks big enough for both of us! Why don't I just snuggle up next to you?" Naturemon suggested. Martin grimaced. The fact that Naturemon looked so much like a human girl made this weird. He thought to himself that if Naturemon were a more beastly or reptilian Digimon like his mom's Gatomon or his Dad's Guilmon, it wouldn't feel so weird. It would feel like cuddling with a pet. But as it is, it felt like an inappropriate thing to do. Still, he knew that Naturemon had a pure and innocent mind. She wouldn't understand why he wouldn't want to do this and explaining it to her would be both difficult and awkward. "I don't see why not." Martin said. Martin said "Alexis, turn the lights off." and the lights went off. Naturemon snuggled up to Martin, embracing him, and looking content. She gave a happy sigh and said "I'm so happy I met you. Today was a good day." She then quickly dozed off. Martin smiled. He felt the same way.
Meanwhile, Triceramon was walking the streets, making his way back to his home. All of a sudden, several men and one Gizumon XT appeared! They were all wearing suits with the C.A.D logo on it! Triceramon felt fear come over him! These were the men who put the red mark on him! One of them smirked. "You've outlived your usefulness." He said. The Gizumon XT fired a laser at Triceramon that pierced his body! In an instant, he was reverted back to a DigiEgg, and then the DigiEgg dissipated! The Gizumon XT absorbed the digital particles Triceramon's egg exploded into.
