"Hold it. Hoooooold it. Come in a little closer." A black bikini clad Zai said as she looked through the lens of a water resistant camera. At Overflow Beach on the Folder Continent in the Digital World, the Glovion family was enjoying a nice Spring Break vacation. They were all readying themselves for a family photo while standing in knee high shallow water with the overwater bungalows behind them in the distance. "Evander, you should get on the left, Jessica, you should get on the right, and I think it would be a good idea if Taylor were in the middle." Zai said. Evander, Jessica, and Taylor took the positions Zai told them to. The Digimon got right in front of their respective partners. All except for Pawnchessmon who couldn't stand the water. Pawnchessmon was inside the bungalow they had rented out. Zai looked through her viewfinder and saw that she couldn't get the faces of the Glovions and the Digimon in the same pic. "I can't get everyone's faces in the pic. The Digimon are too short." Zai said. Terriermon hopped on Evander's shoulder. He was sporting some sunglasses. "How about I just perch myself here on Evander's shoulder?" Terriermon suggested. Gabumon then jumped up on Jessica's shoulder. "And I shall do likewise." Gabumon said. Jessica grimaced a little. Gabumon's fur really did stink like a dog's when it got wet, but he refused to remove it for fear of looking funny. Leormon, who was also donning sunglasses, crawled up Jessica's back and perched himself on top of Jessica's head. When he did this, Jessica felt Leormon's sharp claws dig into her bare back. "Youch! Leormon! Watch it with the claws!" Jessica said. "Oh, sorry." Leormon said.
Zai smiled and gave a thumbs up. "Just perfect. Agumon, Sharkmon, and Ladybugmon, you three don't need to do anything." Zai said. Ladybugmon was in a duck inner tube and was wearing sunglasses off to Jessica's left. Agumon was wearing his Omnimon swim trunks again. Evander was wearing his black flame themed swim trunks. Both Jessica and Taylor were in their mermaid forms. They were propping themselves into an upright stance with their tails in the knee high water. "Say cheese!" "Cheese!" and Zai snapped the photo.
Zai looked at the photo that popped out of her camera. "This looks fantastic. How about we do one with just Taylor and her dad?" Zai suggested. Evander nodded. "Sounds good to me." He said. Jessica and everyone else got out of the camera's range. "Say cheese!" Zai said. "Cheese!" Evander and Taylor said in unison. The moment before shudder snapped, Evander scooped Taylor up into his arms and gave a big grin. "Hashtag that feeling when you catch a big one." Evander joked. His left hand was grasping Taylor's back and his right hand was grasping the back of Taylor's tail, with Taylor's arms wrapped around her father's neck for extra support. Taylor looked a little embarrassed to be held by her dad like this. Evander then started walking towards Zai. Zai lowered her camera. "Oy, mate! Whaddya doin' keep rollin'!" Evander said, speaking in an Austrailian accent. Zai looked confused but she raised her camera. "Here we have a majestic mermaid in her natural habitat; the ocean. Aint she a beut! Judgin' by her size, I'd say this one aint fully grown. But give or take 10 years and she'll be a gorgeous adult mermaid that all the mermen can't keep their hands off of." Evander said, still talking in an Austrailian accent, which actually sounded pretty legit. Some Betamon, Gomamon, and a few Agumons were beginning to stare and this made Taylor start blushing out of embarrassment. She looked Evander in the eye and said. "Ok, haha, you had your fun. Put me down now." Evander set Taylor down back into the water. "And now to return this beautiful creature back to her natural habitat." Evander said as set her down.
Taylor swam over to Drusilla, who was sporting a black one piece with a skull imprint in the center. Taylor propped herself up with her tail and wrapped her arm around Drusilla. "Take one with me and my bestie!" Taylor said. Zai nodded and snapped the camera. Zai handed her camera to Evander. "Would you mind taking one of the Grays?" She asked. Evander nodded. Zai, Drusilla, Jacob, Coalmon, and Syn all got together and Evander took a photo of them. Drusilla didn't smile. She had her cool gothic front to maintain after all. Jacob and Zai each put a hand on each of Drusilla's shoulders and leaned down a bit before they shot peace signs. Zai was grinning with her eyes closed and Jacob was doing the same. Syn was perched on Zai's shoulders and Drusilla held Coalmon in her arms.
The Glovions had been on vacation for an entire week now. Mid-way, the Gray family joined them. They also spent some time with King Kinandon and his daughter, Marnie during this week. Their vacation at the Overflow Beach Resort was nearing a close. After the photos were all taken, they heard a voice call out from behind them. "Hello, again!" Everyone turned to see Kari and Izzy with their Digimon, Tentomon and Gatomon by their sides. With them were Martin and Naturemon, and Emmett and Dovemon. Taylor's eyes lit up when she saw her other two friends. "Martin! Emmett!" She exclaimed as she scooched on over to them like a seal coming up onto dry land. She moved her hands across the beach sand and dragged herself over to them. Martin started chuckling. "You look like a seal." He said. "I read on the internet that seals are dog mermaids." Naturemon said. Taylor giggled. Izzy and Kari looked fascinated. They knew about the various alien races in this universe, including the races that this universe's digidestined were, but they had still never seen a mermaid in person. "A real live mermaid! Prodigious!" Izzy said enthusiastically before bending over and poking Taylor's mermaid tail. Izzy looked up at Kari. "These scales are real!" He said. Taylor looked a little uncomfortable.
Sharkmon hopped over to the group. "So are you here because everyone has achieved the Ultimate level?" Sharkmon asked. Kari nodded. "That's right. We're here to take you to our base." Kari said. Izzy was still poking Taylor's tail. He grabbed the fins at the very bottom and flapped them up and down. "Fascinating." He then looked up at Taylor's visibly uncomfortable face. He put one hand over her neck. "Gill slits!" He exclaimed. Tentomon then flew over to Izzy and landed beside him. "Izzy, maybe you should stop poking and prodding Taylor before you end up on a certain list." Tentomon said. Izzy then backed off. "Oh! Sorry, Taylor. I just never saw a mermaid before. For ages, I considered them the stuff of myths and legends. I purchased a copy of your mom's book and read it all in one setting, but I still have so many questions. For example, how exactly does your tail-to-leg metamorphosis occur on the cellular level? It would seem to me that that would require extremely rapid genetic processes. Proteins would need to build the DNA necessary for building humanlike legs and vice versa. And how can you do it at will? A necessary prerequisite to that would be the existence of a neurological structure in the frontal lobe of your cerebellum. It would have to be in the frontal lobe since that location regulates movement. However, being able to tell your genes to change your limbs into another type of body part is far more advanced than the brain telling the arms and legs to move. You're basically commanding your own DNA to perform certain actions. Your face looks human, but your brain just has to be structurally different from that of a human girl." Izzy rambled.
"Does this guy have an off switch?" Sharkmon asked. Sharkmon was sitting right beside Taylor. Tentomon looked over and shrugged. "Unfortunately, no. I've checked." Tentomon replied. Evander and the others walked over to them. "So you want to take them to your base, huh?" Evander said. "Why do they need to go there?" Agumon asked. Izzy stood up and placed his hands in his pockets. "We have intel that All For One World is going to come after The Elemental Four to try to kill them. For their own safety, it's good that they live with us for a while until this organization is thoroughly defeated." Izzy explained. Tentomon flew over to Evander and hovered right in front of his face. "Every single member of World For Us All is a Digidestined or Digimon Tamer from somewhere in the vast multiverse, plus, our organization is outside of any universe, making us utterly undetectable. The downside is that It's really hard to get pizza delivered." Tentomon explained.
"How long will Taylor and Sharkmon need to be there?" Terriermon asked.
"Yeah, I'll miss them." Ladybugmon said.
"Weren't you listening? He said until All For One World is defeated. Who knows how long that will take?" Evander said.
Taylor then formed human legs and stood up. "We'll go." She said before looking back at her dad and flashing a big grin while folding her arms behind her back. "Besides, this big red headed nerd is a man after my own heart. I'll be able to pick his brain and learn all sorts of new things." Taylor said. Tentomon put one of his arms up to his face and looked to the left and then to the right. "Pick his brain? That sounds gross!" He said. Izzy was staring at Taylor's legs. Taylor looked back and noticed him. "What?" She asked. "That happened too fast. Do it again. I'll record it on my laptop's webcam and examine the footage later." Izzy said.
"What about school? It's starting, Monday." Jessica asked.
"Don't you worry about that. We have a school teacher on staff at World For Us All." Kari's Gatomon replied.
Evander and the rest of them went back to the physical world, to their own homes.
Earth, Nakano Japan….
It was the next day, and The Elemental Four had returned to their own homes. Taylor was in her bedroom packing her suitcases and backpack for things she thought she'd need during her stay at World For Us All HQ. Her bed had several bags and suitcases open. One suitcase was filled with all kinds of clothes, and various different books. Some books were Digimon non-fiction, others were books written by Stephen Hawking, Brian Greene, and even Aristotle. Taylor picked up a framed photograph. It was the photograph that the Glovion family had taken on their last day at the resort at Overflow Beach. She smiled. "I got to spend so much time with my Dad on this vacation. My mom too, and all our Digimon. And even my best friend from like, forever, came and joined in on the fun." Taylor said. Sharkmon was standing on the floor, in front of the bed, beside her. He looked up at her and smiled, baring his sharp jagged shark teeth. "Yep! That was so much fun! Except for the time your dad accidentally drank a whole bunch of rum, got drunk, and tried to take a bite out of me, thinking I was some sea food!" Sharkmon said. Taylor started laughing. "I'll never forget that either. He thought it was just soda." Taylor said before lowering her voice and making it sound kind of raspy to mimic her dad. "It look like co-cola, it taste like co-cola, why it no co-cola!?" She did her best impression of a drunk Evander as she could before bursting out laughing. "And then Zai and Jessica had to carry him on their shoulders back to our room, and he kissed Zai on the mouth thinking she was Jessica!" Sharkmon said. Taylor laughed some more. "Oh, right! Mom was sooooo mad! I thought she'd go all goddess-of-the-seas on him!" Taylor said through her laughter. "Zai saying he was a good kisser didn't help matters. And who knew Drusilla could turn so red!?" Sharkmon said before laughing.
The occasion they were referring to was a party that Nekoroshi Sakannamaru held at the beach at night. This happened while Martin and Naturemon were in Native Forest a few miles away working on activating their crests. Evander didn't drink. He had a history of alcoholism in his lineage, and knowing that one can be genetically predisposed to alcoholism, he preferred not to risk it. But he had drunk a lot of Rum-Coke thinking it was just regular Coke. He was unable to taste the rum, so he drank a lot of soda and ended up getting extremely drunk without meaning to.
Evander walked into the room. "I could hear you all the way downstairs." He said. "Sorry, Dad. We'll try to keep it down." Taylor said, looking over in his direction. Evander waved his hand and smiled. He had the other hand behind his back. "Don't worry about it. I came in here because I wanted to give you something." He said. "A going away present?" Taylor guessed. "That's right." Evander said. Evander took his other hand from behind his back and handed two figures to Taylor resembling his and Jessica's likeness. Taylor took it and looked at it with a slightly confused expression. "Dolls that look like you and mom?" She observed. Evander knelt down and placed his hand on Taylor's left shoulder. "If you start to miss us, just hold these dolls up tightly to your chest and remember that even if we're physically separated, our bond as a family is unbreakable. You will occupy the thoughts of your mother and I constantly." Evander said. Taylor was moved. She smiled and said. "Aww, thank you, Dad." Jessica poked her head in and saw what Evander was doing. She looked upset. "Hey! We were supposed to give those figures together!" She said. Evander rubbed the back of his head and chuckled nervously. "Sorry, honey. I forgot." Evander said. Jessica walked farther into the room with her hands on her hips. "Well, at least you weren't next door making out with Zai." Jessica said. Evander's head conked down and he sweat dropped. "You're never going to let me live that down, are you?" He said.
Evander then looked up into Taylor's eyes. "You know, you've really grown up a lot. It seems like just yesterday that I was changing your diapers and-" He was cut off by Jessica. "Diapers? Plural? Yeah, I don't think so." Evander looked back at Jessica, an annoyed look flashed across his face. "Aaaanyway." He continued, returning his gaze toward his daughter, "It seems like just yesterday that you were only two feet tall and asking Agumon to 'diddy ball' to give you rides as Greymon. I just turned around one day and suddenly….my little bundle of joy had grown. This mission you're about to embark on….it will change you, but for the better. Things won't be easy. It wasn't for my generation when we took on Em-I mean The Digimon Ruler and The Anti-Royal Knights. But you'll have Sharkmon with you, you'll have Drusilla, and Emmett, and Martin with you. Your friends will give you strength when you need it. Friendship is what makes every Digidestined strong…no matter what universe they're from." Evander said. Evander then embraced Taylor gently. "Never forget that I will love you always…with a love that runs deeper than any ocean you'll ever swim in. You're my daughter, and, aside from marrying your mother, you're the greatest thing that's ever happened to me…my little mermaid." Taylor got slightly emotional at her dad's sincere words of affection. Jessica knelt down and embraced Taylor alongside Evander, creating a group hug. "Your dad stole my line. Taylor, be careful out there. Be good to Sharkmon. Feed him all the hot dogs he wants. Be sure to brush your teeth after every meal. Don't give Kari and T.K and Izzy a hard time. But above all….don't forget how much I love you." Jessica said. She was getting a bit emotional too. Everyone was, really. But everyone was doing their best to hold back the tears.
Evander and Jessica stood up. Evander looked down at Sharkmon with a determined smile. "Sharkmon, please protect our little girl." Evander said. Sharkmon saluted and smiled. "That goes without saying! I am her Digimon after all!" Sharkmon said.
Agumon, Terriermon, Ladybugmon, Gabumon, Leormon, and Pawnchessmon were standing in the hallway listening. They then decided to walk into Taylor's bedroom as well. Agumon walked in first. He looked down at Sharkmon. Agumon put his claw up to his mouth and cleared his throat. "Sharkmon, being a Digimon Partner to a Digidestined is a huge responsibility. But always remember that you can't digivolve on an empty stomach." Agumon said. Agumon then turned around and motioned for the other Digimon to come forward. The five Digimon were carrying a very large plate of hot dogs. Sharkmon smiled, showing all of his sharp, jagged teeth. His eyes lit up like a child's on Christmas morning. "Eat up, Sharkmon!" Terriermon said. "Hurry up before they get cold!" Gabumon added. "We all pitched in to make these. It took us a long time, so we hope you enjoy it." Leormon added. "Let me know if you'd like anything to drink with it." Ladybugmon added.
Sharkmon bounced up and down excitedly. "You guys are the best! Thaaaank you!" Sharkmon then dove into the plate of hot dogs and started devouring them rapidly. Everyone took a few steps back to make sure nobody accidentally had a hand bitten off while Sharkmon was engaging in his feeding frenzy. It only took a few seconds for all of the hot dogs, which were about 60 in total, to completely vanish off of the platter! Sharkmon let out a burp and then raised one his front claws in the air, looking at Terriermon and Leormon. "My compliments to the chefs!" He said.
The Soleman Residence….
Martin was in his bedroom likewise packing for the trip. All over his bed were suitcases and bags filled with clothes, toys, video games, and books. Naturemon layed back on his bed while Martin put the items in the bags, lying in such a way that her torso was on the bed while her legs dangled off the side and her feet touched the floor. "Marty Heartyyyyyy, how long is this going to take? I'm bored. I want to play." Naturemon whined. Martin looked over to her and smiled. "It won't be much longer." He said. Naturemon made a little whining noise. "Weeeellll….when you get done, let's play Hide and Seek." Naturemon said.
Flora walked into the room carrying a bouquet of lilacs, hyacinths, chrysanthemums, roses, tiger lilies, and gardenias. She handed the mixed bouquet to Martin. "Martin, here's a little going away present I made for you." She said. Martin took the bouquet and sniffed them. He smiled after experiencing their lovely scent. "They're beautiful. Thanks, Mom." He said. "These flowers weren't picked at random. These flowers collectively symbolize family. When you're feeling down, look at these flowers and remember your family back home." Flora said. Flora then hugged her son tightly. "I love you, son. I know I can be overbearing sometimes…ok, all the time…but it's only because I worry about you. When I turned 14, my father just dropped me off in the woods to let me fend for myself. It's not unique to me, it's something all Felincius parents do, but….I don't agree with it. I guess all my helicopter parenting is just overcompensation, but…it's only because I love you, Martin. I'm sorry for being such a pain sometimes. Don't say I'm not, I know I am a pain. But it's only because…you're more precious to me than words can express. You are….the most beautiful flower in my garden. It would destroy me if you ever wilted or got trampled." Flora said.
Martin smiled as Flora hugged her. "Aw, mom. I love you, too. And try not to worry. Naturemon will take care of me. As will Taylor and Sharkmon, and all my friends." Martin said. Flora stopped embracing Martin to look him in the eye. She smiled and nodded. "That's right. And I know just from observing for the past month that Naturemon loves you very, very much. Not as much as I do, but she's the reason I'm not more worried about you than I am." Flora said. Flora then turned to Naturemon and leaned over to her. She got close to Naturemon's face and then just started spouting a long list. "Ok, Naturemon. I'm assigning you to be Martin's substitute mother while he's away. Make sure he brushes his teeth every day. And when he showers, make sure he washes both his feline ears and his human ears. He forgets to wash behind his human ears ALL the time! Also, make sure he doesn't fool around with other girls. The boy is close to puberty now and I fear he may start taking an interest any day now. Oh, and make sure he keeps whatever living space he's assigned tidy. Make sure he makes his bed. And make sure he eats healthy food. A cookie or a bag of potato chips is ok every once in a while, but junk food shouldn't make up his whole diet. And-" Flora was cut off by Naturemon, who was smiling nervously and sweating a little. "I think I need to write all this down!" She said. Flora stood back up and placed her hands on her hips. She started laughing. She was laughing at herself. "There I go again."
Gatomon and Palmon walked into the room. Gatomon was holding a camera. "Naturemon, we plan on giving you a present too, but we have to make it first." Gatomon said. "Come out to Nakano Matsugaoka Park." Palmon said.
They did so. "This is where you first met, Martin, right?" Palmon asked. Naturemon smiled and pumped her fist. "Yep! I sure did!" She replied. "Then let's take a picture of you and him to take with you to World For Us All HQ." Gatomon said. Naturemon and Martin stood next to each other. Naturemon and Martin wrapped their arms around each other and faced the camera frontally. They smiled. Gatomon snapped the photo.
When they got back to their house, they found Mario standing outside the front door. He was holding a black tote bag with a design on it. Mario walked over to Martin and handed the tote bag to him. "I had this designed for you online. It's a tote bag with imprints of little anime versions of our whole family." Mario said. Martin took the tote bag and looked down at it. Sure enough, there were chibified anime versions of Mario, Flora, Guilmon, Agumon, Palmon, Gatomon, and Naturemon. Martin looked up at his dad and smiled. "Thanks, Dad." He said.
The Gray Residence….
Drusilla had already packed her bags, err, bag. It was a single backpack that was black and gray and had imprints of skulls and bats all over it. "There. All packed." Drusilla said, facing away from her bedroom window. Coalmon, who was chilling on the bed, looked surprised. "What!? That little dinky bag worth of stuff is all you're taking?" She asked. Drusilla looked over to Coalmon and raised one index finger towards her. "Of course, there's my tooth brush, some extra clothes, toothpaste, my Digivice of course, some nail clippers, and my make up kits. That's all I need. Carrying around excess baggage is so not cool." Drusilla said. She raised a finger each time she counted off one of the items in her bag.
Drusilla walked to her bedroom door and opened it to find Zai standing on the other side with her hands behind her back. "Oh, Drusilla! Are you done packing yet?" Zai asked. Drusilla nodded with an expressionless face. "Yep. All the essentials and nothing more." She said in a rather monotonous voice. Zai smiled and took her hands out from behind her back. She was holding a picture frame with a picture of a woman in it. "Maybe just carry ONE non-essential with you?" Zai said, gesturing towards her daughter to take the photo from her hands. Drusilla took the photo and looked down at it. "Who is this?" Drusilla asked. In the photo was a woman with silvery gray hair, large batlike wings, and a yellow shoulderless shirt with an orange collar. She wore an orange dress that went slightly past her knees. She was sitting in a wooden chair with a little girl in her lap. The little girl also had silvery gray hair and appeared to be around 6 years old. Both the woman and the girl were posing for a photo, and both looked expressionless. Nevertheless, the woman exuded a kindness and warmth about her. "While I was searching for food to energize Gatomon and BlackGatomon when we were on Devillis, I came across this. It's a photograph of your grandmother and I from a long time ago. I planned on giving it to you for your birthday, but…I decided I'd give it to you as a going away present instead." Zai explained.
Drusilla smiled, then hugged her mother. "Thanks, Mom. I love you." She said. Coalmon rolled off the bed, out of the room, and stopped once she was beside her partner. She looked up at Zai. "Have you got a present for me?" She asked. "We sure do." Zai replied. Zai turned her head to yell down the staircase. "Bring it up, Syn!" Syn walked up the stairs and turned the corner. She was carrying a small MP3 player. She handed the MP3 player to Coalmon. "Here you go. EVERY song by Jimmy KEN ever made is on this MP3 Player." Syn said. Drusilla raised an eyebrow. "MP3 Player? Where'd you even find outdated tech like that anyway?" Drusilla wondered. Coalmon looked thrilled. She grabbed it and said "Thank you Zai and Syn!"
Coalmon had actually really gotten into Jimmy KEN's music over the past few days. She would play them on the TV on the video streaming app on Drusilla's TV all the time.
Zai hugged Drusilla. "Drusilla, I know you and the others and can save this world. I know you can save all worlds. I believe in you, honey." Zai said. Syn licked her lips and rubbed her tummy. "Mmm…honey. I could go for some honey. Hey, do we have any honey?" Syn asked.
All of a sudden, Jacob walked up the stairs with a HUGE pile of clothing in his arms. He dropped the pile of clothing in front of Drusilla right in the middle of the hallway floor. All the girls looked surprised and confused. "What is all this?" Drusilla asked. "Looks like a load of laundry." Coalmon observed. Jacob was a bit out of breath from hauling the huge load of clothes all the way up the stairs. He was bent over with his hands on his knees trying to catch his breath. Then, Jacob stood upright and rubbed his nose with a proud smile on his face. "Why this? This is my parting gift to you, my dear daughter. I know you're into goth clothing, so I went to Nakano Broadway and bought all the goth clothing I could find!" Jacob said. There were spiked bracelets in the pile, a choker with large spikes, several black gothic pleated short mini skater skirts that were made of leather, a fishnet crop top with long sleeves, several t-shirts with large skulls in the center, a strapless black dress with some metal pieces on them, et cetera. There was also a large black umbrella in the stack. Jacob held up the strapless dress along with the umbrella. "I also got you an umbrella and this dress in case you wanted to change things up and go for the Gothic Lolita look. I don't know what happened to the black lipstick I bought" Jacob said. Drusilla blinked a couple of times, looking a bit taken aback. "I uh…appreciate this, Dad." Drusilla said. Drusilla then turned around to go back into her room. "Drusilla, where are you going?" Zai asked. "To get a large suitcase." Drusilla responded. "But I thought you said walking around with excess baggage was not cool." Coalmon said. Drusilla looked back at her partner with a smile. "That's true. But being unappreciative of your father's love is even more not cool." Drusilla said.
The Liberty Residence…
Emmett finished packing his clothes and walked downstairs with Dovemon. Emily and Lopmon were standing at the bottom of the stairway with bagged presents. Emmett noticed the bagged presents sitting at their feet. "What's all this?" Emmett asked. "Jessica called me and told me that all the other parents are getting their kids and their kids' Digimon going away presents, so Lopmon and I did too." Emily replied. Emmett pushed up on his glasses and smiled. "Ah, Mom. You didn't have to do that." He said. He knelt down and removed the paper covering the gift. It was a blanket. Emmett opened up the blanket to see what was on it and what he saw was a message;
"Emmett, I've done many wrong things in my life, but raising you wasn't one of them. I'm proud of the person you've turned out to be. Being your mother is my greatest joy, one I don't think I deserve. I love you. - Mom."
Emmett started tearing up a bit. He took his glasses off and rubbed his eyes. "I love you too, Mom." He said before putting his glasses back on. A second blanket was in there from Lopmon.
"Dear twerp. You're kind of annoying sometimes, but not TOO annoying. You're also fun to be around. You make me laugh, you play with me, and you always try to cheer me up when I'm sad. Good luck saving the world. If you fail, I'll clobber you! - Love, your digital sister, Lopmon."
Emmett's eyebrow twitched a little. "Thanks, Lopmon. I think." He said. These blankets were obviously not printed with stock messages. These were fully customized. Emmett suspected they had made these through some online service. He wondered when they did it. It had been three days since Kari and Izzy told them to come to World For Us All HQ, so there could have been enough time for them to arrive in the mail if the website had some kind of "one day rush" option.
Dovemon walked over to her bag. She removed the paper from within the bag with her beak. It was a bowl, and inside the bowl was text printed at the bottom. It read "If you can read this, you have eaten Dovemon's ice cream and should run." Dovemon chuckled "My very next ice cream will be out of this bowl. Thank you two so much!" Dovemon said. Dovemon's holy ring fell to the floor. Emmett reached over and picked it up for her. "Don't worry, I got it." He said. "Thanks, Emmett." Dovemon said.
Emily knelt down and hugged her son. "I meant every word, Emmett. I'm proud of you, and I love you very much." She said.
The next day, the Elemental Four and the Digimon Universe Digidestined and all their Digimon were standing at a bus stop. They were all waiting around for transportation that Izzy told them would come pick them up. Just then, a portal opened up in the middle of the road and a Kommondomon came through. "Aaaaarf!" barked the Kommondomon, happily. "Well, you don't see that every day." Sharkmon said. Kari came out from the Kommondomon's inside. "Hey there! Ready to go?" Kari asked.
"What is this?" Jessica asked.
"A Kommondomon that can travel through dimensions, I think." Sharkmon replied.
"Yep. This is a Kommondomon. Izzy modified his data to give him the ability to travel through dimensions." Kari explained.
"That's so cool!" Taylor exclaimed.
Taylor, Emmett, Drusilla, and Martin looked back at their parents as did their Digimon. Taylor put her hand up on her goggles. "Don't worry, guys. We'll save the multiverse and be back before you know it." Taylor said.
"And we'll eat lots and lots of hot dogs!" Sharkmon said.
"All For One World is going down!" Martin said.
"Down, down, down! All the way to the ground!" Naturemon said excitedly.
"We WILL win. Letting septillions of people die is the uncoolest of all so not cool things." Drusilla said.
"I'm getting fired up!" Coalmon said.
"Mom, before I go, I just want to say, please stop letting your past define you. You're not the Digimon Ruler anymore. You're my mother, and I love you." Emmett said.
Evander, Jessica, Mario, Flora, Zai, and Emily all looked at their children, their faces beaming with proud smiles. These children of theirs made them think of themselves back in their childhoods. They themselves went through many trials and troubles, but they had each other and their Digimon, and they overcame every one of them. Evander walked over to Taylor and put his hand on her head, rubbing her hair and messing it up. "You look really good in those goggles, Taylor. I know you'll do them justice." He said. He then leaned down and gave her a kiss on the head. He then walked backwards towards his digidestined group.
Jessica walked over to Martin and placed her hand on his shoulder. Martin looked confused. What would Taylor's mother want with him. Jessica looked him in the eyes and smiled. "While you're gone, tell Taylor how you feel about her. Don't wait for years and years like I did." Jessica said. Martin's eyes widened and he blushed. He reached up and scratched his face as though scratching an itch. "I-I-I-I don't know what you're talking about." He said, looking away from Jessica's eyes. Jessica smiled and let out a small chuckle.
The four children and their Digimon then turned around and got inside of Kommondomon. They all poked their heads out the window and waved. "Bye bye!" "See you later!" "Bye, mom!" "Bye, Dad!" The children were all talking simultaneously as the Kommondomon took off through another portal which closed behind him.
Jessica smiled as some wind brushed through her hair. "I'm not worried. She is our daughter, after all." She said. Evander nodded. "You know she is." Evander said.
"Naturemon will keep him safe. I know she will." Flora said.
"Yeah. Naturemon is kind and strong. She'll be there for him even though we can't." Mario said.
"I'm worried." Jacob said.
"Don't be. She may have gotten my taste in clothes, but she got your durability Mr. fall-in-the-river-in-February-and-nearly-die-from-hypothermia." Zai said.
Emily stood watching with her hand on her hip. "You can do it, son." She said.
The inside of Kommondomon was sort of like an RV. It had a U shaped circular couch sitting area with a silver table in the middle at the far back of the room. In the front of the room, there was a refrigerator on the right hand side. The refrigerator was to the right of a doorway that led to stairs. The stairs led up to the bronze helmet on Kommondomon's head at which point one would come to a metal door that lead to a wooden porch/poop deck/balcony area on Kommondomon's back. Kommondomon wasn't a mere animal, but was a machine as well; a cyborg.
On one side of the U shaped couch, a middle aged Zoe Orimoto lay snoozing soundly. Emmett stared down at the woman and looked a little anxious. Taylor, Drusilla, Martin, and their Digimon were all sitting on the red couch, but Emmett and Dovemon had no place to sit because Zoe was sleeping. "What's the matter, Emmett?" Taylor asked. "My feet are killing me and there's no place to sit." Emmett replied. They had been standing at the bus stop for a while. Although the bus stop had a bench, there were too many Digidestined and Digimon to all have taken a seat.
Taylor stood up and gestured over to her spot. "Here, Emmett. You can take my place for a while." Taylor said. "Are you sure?" Emmett asked. "Of course." Taylor replied. Emmett went over and sat where Taylor was previously sitting. Dovemon hopped up into his lap looking content. Taylor went and stood in the center of the room. She looked over at the snoozing blonde woman. "So, who is this anyway?" Taylor asked. Kari was sitting on the floor with her back to the wall. She answered Taylor. "Her name is Zoe Orimoto. She's a bit unique as a Digidestined. In her universe's version of The Digital World, rather than being granted a Digimon Partner, she acquired the spirits of ancient heroic Digimon and her digivice allows her to digivolve into those Digimon. It's called Spirit Evolution, Beast Spirit Evolution, and Fusion Evolution for each level. The same is true for the others on her team."
The others seemed surprised. Although becoming a Digimon wasn't an entirely foreign concept to them (their parents had bio-merged with their Digimon after all), all the examples they knew of still required a Digimon Partner. Zoe sat up and rubbed her eyes. She yawned. "I must have dozed off." She said. She then looked around and saw that The Elemental Four were already on board. "Oh! Hello. Nice to meet you. I'm Zoe." She said.
"I'm Taylor."
"Sharkmon!"
"Martin."
"My name is Naturemon."
"I'm Drusilla."
"I'm Coalmon. Nice to meet you."
"And you already know me and Dovemon!" Emmett said.
Kommondomon was traveling through a kind of pseudo-space where lots of large orbs were situated. Martin looked out the window he was sitting in front of and saw the large cosmic looking orbs they were passing. "Whoa! What are those? Planets?" Martin asked. "Nope. Those are entire universes. Right now, we're traveling through what's called The Mother Universe." Zoe replied. Taylor smiled smugly and raised an index finger. "I know about that. Stephen Hawking wrote about it in one of the books in my library. The Mother Universe is like one big universe that spawns little tiny 'babies' through quantum fluctuations. Each Big Bang is essentially the birth of a new universe. Hawking also wrote that-" Taylor was cut off because Drusilla got up and covered her mouth. "That's enough for now, professor." Drusilla said in a teasing tone.
Just then the Kommondomon shook violently, freaking the children and Digimon out a bit. "Don't worry. It's probably just turbulence." Drusilla said. Taylor looked concerned. "Maybe, but I'd better go check just in case. Sharkmon, let's go!" She said. Sharkmon hopped off of the couch. "Right!" He replied. Taylor and Sharkmon both ran upstairs and went onto Kommondomon's wooden deck. They were surprised to find some creature standing on the wooden deck. She looked half human, half snake. The human part of her body looked like the head and torso of a very young female child. She had dark gray skin and long jet black hair. Her eyes were pure red; no irises, no pupils, no whites. From the bottom of her eye sockets to the sides of her cheeks were red lines, almost like she had been crying blood. Taylor thought she looked like something out of a horror movie. The female child wore a black top that covered her chest, but was shoulderless and exposed her midriff. On her tummy where the belly button would be was a red Digital Hazard symbol. Digital Hazard symbols were also on both of her arms. On her head was a hair bow with a Red Stone in the center. A Red Stone was also in the center of the black top covering her torso. The bottom half of this creature was a large snakelike tail. Across the snakelike tail were Red Stones lined up neatly in a row. The creature, despite having a somewhat human looking head, had no nose, and had a creepy psychotic smile. Her teeth were sharp and jagged.
"Is that….a Digimon?" Sharkmon asked. "I've never seen her before! However….I recognize that symbol on her tummy! It's The Digital Hazard symbol! This symbol indicates that this Digimon's very existence is hazardous!" Taylor said. "Well, don't go into lecture mode about it now!" Sharkmon said. "I won't!" Taylor said.
Kari, Zoe, and the others came up on deck as well.
The little girl snake hybrid creature swayed back and forth a bit with a psychotic grin on her face. "Tell me, child. Does my appearance frighten you?" She asked. Taylor got a determined expression on her face. She clenched her fist and took a step forward. "Tell me who you are." She said. Sharkmon sweated a little. "You look like you could use some eye drops…really badly. Like…just dump the whole bottle in there!" Sharkmon jested. The creature then spoke, "I am Owarimon. I am a Rookie level Digimon created by All For One World by the power of what you puny creatures call 'Red Stones'. My one purpose is to destroy…everything." The creepy looking child said.
Kari's eyes widened with shock. "Owarimon. That's…." She stopped herself. In her shock, she almost gave away the fact that Ryo is a spy for All For One World. Ryo had told them just a few hours ago that the Digimon the organization planned on creating with the Red Stones is called Owarimon, and that if she were allowed to digivolve all the way to the Mega level, all life would end!
Owarimon slithered over to Taylor quickly. She wrapped Taylor up in her long massive tail like a snake about to devour its prey. "I'll start with the leader of the newest Digidestined team." She said. She opened her mouth and went in to try to rip apart Taylor's neck with her massive teeth. Taylor, however, reached up and grabbed Owarimon's head, stopping her. Taylor looked scared. "Sharkmon! Help me!" Taylor cried out.
Sharkmon curled up into a ball and launched himself at Owarimon while rolling. His fin became a sharp, glowing white blade. "Rolling Shark!" Sharkmon shouted. Sharkmon hit Owarimon and caused some damage. Owarimon let out a shout, but her grip around Taylor wasn't loosened. Sharkmon uncurled and decided to attack again. "Baby Bite! Baby Bite! Baby Bite!" Sharkmon shouted in between each chomp of Owarimon's tail. Owarimon uncurled herself from around Taylor and backed up a little. "I see I'll have to deal with you first." She said. "Chest Beam!" Owarimon shouted, sending a laser beam out of the Red Stone that was centered in the middle of her top. The laser beam hit Sharkmon and sent him flying back into the back of Kommondomon's helmet. "Sharkmon!" Taylor cried out.
Zoe took out her D-Tector. "I can't just sit this out." She said. A fractal code then appeared around her fingers. Zoe took the D-Tector and touched the fractal code. "Execute! Spirit Evolution! ……Kazemon!" Zoe had spirit evolved into Kazemon.
Kazemon then caused currents of air to surround her fingers. "Hurricane Wave!" She shouted, sending long thin tornados from the tips of her fingers. The air currents hit Owarimon and she fell off of the Kommondomon! However, she grabbed on to the side railing of the deck with her tail and swung herself back on board. Kazemon decided she would try again. "Hurricane Wave!" However, Kazemon's timing was bad, as the second before she unleashed her attack, Owarimon had wrapped herself around Taylor again! Owarimon got hit with Kazemon's Hurricane Wave and got sent flying off of the Kommondomon along with Taylor in her grasp!
"TAYLOR!!!" Everyone shouted in unison. Sharkmon instinctively ran off the side and jumped off of the Kommondomon to follow after Taylor! "Don't worry, Taylor! I'm coming!" Sharkmon shouted as he fell through the inter-universal space.
"DIGIVOLUTION"
"Sharkmon Digivolve to…Jawsmon!"
Jawsmon landed on Owarimon and loosened her grip with his powerful arms to free his girl. Jawsmon grabbed Taylor and held her tightly to his chest. "Oh, Jawsmon! Thank you!" She said. Jawsmon grabbed Owarimon with one arm and slung her around before sending her hurling her elsewhere, to some far away place in the multiverse! "I'm so sick of these mother flippin' snakes on this mother flippin' Kommondomon!" Jawsmon quipped. Taylor looked back. "We're being pulled in by one of the universes' local gravity!" Taylor exclaimed.
They continued falling, falling, and falling, with the Kommondomon above them growing smaller, and smaller, and smaller!
