boring title screen featuring level 6.
story of the game.
level 0, mario's house.
pretty ugly house
yey mushroom
upstairs bonus room, only accessible after unlocking every switch palace.
comes with a tutorial.
this game was originally designed for the wii.
mario's backyard. first enemy encounters here.
grab this to unlock the first level.
level 1, Sunny's level. grassy, because bunnies like eating grass.
i was supposed to put message boxes with hints on how to beat the bosses, but I guess I only remembered to do it for the first level.
this level's pretty standard.
no yoshies in the boss rooms, cheater.
Sunny the rabbit. his sprite won't turn around to face mario.
the first map, the blue map. has the first 9 bosses of the game. featuring me misspelling Lynette's name.
level 2, Lynette's level. Lynette asked for a candy-themed land, so here you go.
chocolate river.
kirby-style lollipop that makes you invincible.
Lynette. hands down the easiest boss in the game, lol
level 3, Karla's level. she wanted a forest theme, so there's that.
Karla wanted butterflies in her level but you can barely even notice them.
Karla also wanted a waterfall in her level, and it was a PAIN to edit that.
shortcut pipes begin by level 3. i added them in the game's post-production to even out the playing field.
top of the waterfall.
Karla told me she likes diamonds, so bam. diamond cavern.
can you guess what Karla likes here? hint: 🌧️
real helpful message.
Karla likes rainbows.
...and the color pink.
the blocks here are labeled according to buttons on the wii remote.
Karla liked kittens, i guess.
...and sports. hence the soccer ball.
can't remember why I put a coin game cloud here. i'm guessing Karla likes money.
room before boss.
Karla. featuring the bomb sprite from bomberman. she pretty much hurls diamonds at you. bomb that girl!
level 4, Eileen's level. has a gracious supply of items right from the start.
Eileen said she likes monkeys, so what she wants, she gets.
love the oriental flavor of this level.
not sure what was the theme here, but this part gets SUPER slow.
yoshi's lost his head—literally. featuring an empty message box.
giant spring, ho!
Eileen likes outer space, I guess...
...and cloudy skies...
...and then we fall out of the sky...
...and into the water.
decent ocean level. as you can tell by now, this level's pretty long. shortcut pipe's back in that slow area.
let's go to the beach, beach
inside the Odd House.
who's dinosaur computer is this?
cybernetic adventure. Eileen told me she likes computers, so... this.
Eileen the antivirus. buckle your freaking seatbelts, kids.
Eileen's boss sprite is based off of a thwomp, so i had to draw her symmetrically and she came out SO ugly lol
level 5, Carlos' level. he told me he liked legos.
annoying puzzle with some soda cans at the ends. Carlos would drink like 3 cans a day, so.
just when you thought things couldn't get more random...
...you've got that deadly, heavily armed vehicle from contra on your tail.
i don't remember if i drew that ugly car or if someone on smwcentral did.
soccer sunday?
no, football sunday.
beautiful train tileset i found just for this level.
...and yes, Carlos told me he likes trains.
another Odd House.
all hand-drawn, mind you.
except that tv. stole that from earthbound, lol
you can break these dishes.
entrance to freezer room.
in the freezer room.
goin' up to the bounce room.
choose your fate.
empty message box by the "pool".
i hate the "pool".
Carlos' boss room entrance.
Carlos. featuring me misspelling Lynette's name again.
level 6, Angelica's level.
monties bursting out of these vases.
you can be sure this message box is empty, too.
Angie's level is the longest level in the game, mostly due to the backtracking.
not sure what Angie wanted for her level, to be honest. i just did everything smb2 style.
so much backtracking and carrying.
hitting on and off switches all over the place.
more item carrying.
the icy rooms are just sandwiched between all the main areas. carry a fire flower at all times.
return of the giant springboard.
too small...
too average...
just right!
probably the only time anyone ever used these giant versions of the smb2 vase.
freefalling.
hard to nail 'em while you're falling slower than them.
stick that landing!
even deeper underground.
even more switches.
is this level ever gonna be over?
Angelica, featuring a relatable struggle for all youngins.
because she's based on the wart boss, Angie's boss sprite is disproportionately large.
level 7, Danna's level. i totally plagiarized this layout.
yeah, Danna's the artist in the family, so...
wee
colorful level, right?
