About

In this sweaty-looking picture I'm holding a very rare, endemic, critically-endangered Colombian wren (Thryophilus sernai), somewhere along the Cauca River valley

I am an evolutionary biologist fascinated by the processes that drive species diversification and phenotypic evolution. I am broadly interested in how natural and sexual selection shape biodiversity, from molecules and populations, to species and families. My work thus far has focused on hummingbird evolution, particularly centered on color evolution.

I'm currently a PhD student in Dolph Schluter's lab at the University of British Columbia in the Zoology Department. For my PhD I want to delve deeper into speciation and color evolution at different evolutionary scales.
