Problem Statement: According to a study conducted at the Murray State University in 2017, 13 marching percussionists (3 tenors, 6 snares, and 4 basses) were examined to see where they reported the most pain and discomfort in their bodies. Pain on tenor drums occur most when they are carrying their drums for around 5-7 hours a week, weighing around 28-41lbs (including a harness, which is 10lbs). On a scale of 1 to 10, tenor players reported an average of 8 on the scale of discomfort and pain on their lower backs.
