Did You Know? originally started out as a PowerPoint presentation in August 2006 by Karl Fisch during a faculty meeting at Arapahoe High School in Colorado. The presentation "went viral" on the Web in February 2007. Today the old and new versions of the online presentation have been seen by millions of people. It is a creative style of producing multimedia presentations that is being used by educators to reach their students. Students are creating such presentations to learn and communicate to larger audiences. It is a great way to reinforce concepts while taking factual information and putting it into a format that is digestible and engaging. This site is set up for students to put together thematic presentations about topics that are important for understanding the world we live in. Some topics might include statistics about women, children, poverty, hunger, pollution, crime, foods that make you healthy, etc. The topics are endless. Hopefully, students will walk away with a greater understanding of certain topics and be able to share their knowledge with the rest of the world through multimedia presentations that will keep the attention of their audiences.
