## Introduction
Dictionary + is a mobile dictionary application developed by JanoGroup LLC. This Privacy Policy explains what information is stored or processed when you use Dictionary +, why it is used, how third-party services may process information, and the choices available to you.
By using Dictionary +, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Privacy Policy.
## Information Stored on Your Device
Dictionary + does not require an account or ask you to provide your name, email address, phone number, contacts, photos, or precise location.
The app stores certain information locally on your device to provide its features, including:
- Words in your search history
- Favorite or bookmarked words
- Cached dictionary results
- The bundled offline dictionary
- Onboarding selections and app-state settings
- Free-preview timing information
- Local counters used for advertisements, upgrade messages, and review prompts
JanoGroup LLC does not operate a server that receives this locally stored information.
Your device’s backup provider may include app data in a device or cloud backup according to your device and account settings.
## Online Dictionary Requests
Most definitions are provided by the offline dictionary bundled with Dictionary +.
If an offline definition is unavailable, Dictionary + may send the word you searched for to DictionaryAPI.dev and Datamuse to retrieve a definition. These services necessarily receive the searched word and standard network information, which may include your IP address, request time, and device or browser metadata.

## Advertising and Google AdMob
The free-preview version of Dictionary + displays banner and interstitial advertisements through Google AdMob.
Google and its advertising partners may process information such as:
- Advertising or device identifiers
- IP address
- Approximate location derived from an IP address
- Device model, operating system, and app information
- Advertisement impressions, interactions, and performance
- Diagnostic and fraud-prevention information
This information may be used to provide, measure, secure, and personalize advertising as permitted by your consent, device settings, and applicable law.
Premium subscribers are not shown advertisements.
On iOS, Dictionary + requests permission through Apple’s App Tracking Transparency framework before permitting tracking across other companies’ apps and websites. You may deny or change this permission at any time in your device settings.
You may also manage advertising preferences through your Apple account, Google account, or device privacy settings.

## Subscriptions and Purchases
Purchases and subscriptions are processed by the Apple App Store or Google Play. Subscription access is managed in Dictionary + through RevenueCat.
These services may process information such as:
- An app-specific or anonymous user identifier
- Product and subscription selections
- Transaction and renewal status
- Premium entitlement status
- App and device information
- Diagnostic and fraud-prevention information
JanoGroup LLC does not receive or store your complete payment-card number or banking information.

Information is processed only as reasonably necessary to:

- Retrieve definitions that are unavailable offline

- Prevent fraud, abuse, and security incidents
- Diagnose technical failures
- Comply with applicable laws and enforceable legal requests
- Protect Dictionary +, JanoGroup LLC, and app users
## How Information Is Shared
JanoGroup LLC does not sell personal information for money.
Information may be processed or disclosed to the third-party services described in this Policy when necessary to provide dictionary results, advertising, subscription management, app-store services, security, or legal compliance.
Advertising-related disclosures to Google or its partners may be considered “sharing,” “targeted advertising,” or a “sale” under certain privacy laws, even when no money is exchanged for the information. You may limit this processing through your device permissions and advertising settings.
Information may also be disclosed when reasonably necessary to:
- Comply with applicable law, legal process, or enforceable government requests
- Protect the rights, property, safety, and security of JanoGroup LLC or others
- Investigate fraud, misuse, or security incidents
- Enforce applicable agreements

## Data Retention and Deletion
Search history, favorites, cached results, and app-state information remain on your device until you:
- Delete them using an available in-app control
- Clear the app’s storage
- Delete Dictionary + from your device
Some information may remain in device or cloud backups controlled by your platform or backup provider.
Third-party providers retain information according to their own privacy policies and legal obligations. Apple, Google, and RevenueCat may retain purchase records for transaction processing, tax compliance, fraud prevention, subscription management, and entitlement restoration.
## Your Privacy Choices and Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights relating to personal information, including the right to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, or information about how personal information is processed.
Because Dictionary + does not require an account and most app data remains only on your device, JanoGroup LLC may not be able to identify or retrieve local information associated with you.
You can manage or delete local app information through the app where controls are available, by clearing the app’s storage, or by deleting the app.
Requests concerning information processed by Google, Apple, RevenueCat, DictionaryAPI.dev, or Datamuse may need to be submitted directly to the applicable provider.

## Data Security
JanoGroup LLC uses reasonable administrative and technical safeguards appropriate to the nature of Dictionary + and the information processed.
However, no device, transmission, network, or electronic storage system is completely secure. JanoGroup LLC cannot guarantee the absolute security of information.
You are responsible for protecting access to your device, app-store account, and device backups.
## Children’s Privacy
Dictionary + is not directed to children under 13, and JanoGroup LLC does not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13.
If you believe a child has provided personal information to JanoGroup LLC, please contact us so we can investigate and take appropriate action.
App stores and advertising providers may apply additional age-related protections under their own policies and applicable law.
## International Processing
Third-party providers may process information in the United States and other countries where they or their service providers operate.
Those countries may have privacy and data-protection laws that differ from the laws where you live. Each third-party provider is responsible for the legal safeguards governing its processing activities.

Dictionary + may contain content, advertisements, or links provided by third parties.
JanoGroup LLC does not control third-party websites, services, privacy practices, security, content, or availability. Accessing a third-party service is subject to that provider’s terms and privacy policy.
## Disclaimer and Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Dictionary + and its content are provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of accuracy, completeness, availability, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.
Dictionary definitions, examples, synonyms, antonyms, and pronunciations are provided for general informational and educational purposes. They are not professional, legal, medical, financial, or other specialized advice.
JanoGroup LLC is not responsible for decisions made in reliance on dictionary content, third-party content, advertisements, links, or unavailable services.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, JanoGroup LLC will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, profits, goodwill, or use arising from Dictionary + or any third-party service.
Nothing in this Privacy Policy excludes or limits any right or liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
## Changes to This Privacy Policy
JanoGroup LLC may update this Privacy Policy when Dictionary +, its third-party providers, or applicable legal requirements change.
The revised Policy will display an updated “Last Updated” date. Material changes may also be communicated through the app, release notes, or the JanoGroup LLC website where appropriate.
Your continued use of Dictionary + after an updated Policy becomes effective means that you acknowledge the revised Policy.
