This summer, vandals deleted this website. I suspect that someone objects to my opinions about the genocide in Gaza. Finally, I've restored the homepage, but some links have not been fixed yet.
We are disheartened by Netanyahu's violations of the ceasefire in Gaza. People in Gaza are still starving, and Netanyahu threatens to block food and medical aid deliveries, and to continue to kill Palestinians. More than 360 UNRWA workers have been killed, and 192 journalists. We made a significant donation to UNRWA USA after the US government cut off funding. The Israelis have tried to prevent Hamas from governing. The (Hamas) civil police protected aid convoys from looting, but the Israelis attacked the police, and then complained about starving people looting the few aid shipments permitted to enter Gaza. Then the Israelis militarized aid distribution, killing scores every day.
Australia, France, Great Britain, Ireland, Norway and Spain have recently joined hundreds of other nations to recognize Palestine statehood in advance. I hope Marwan Barghouti will be released from Israeli prison to become leader of a nonviolent Palestinian government; he would be "the Palestinian Mandela".
I volunteered for several years at an expungement clinic, preparing documents to erase criminal records for people who have completed their sentences. This helps them get jobs, places to live, and work credentials. Now I'm looking for volunteer work helping people avoid getting deported. Sending millions of immigrants away would separate families who have been here for decades. Family reunification is the principal basis for current immigration policy. Deportation clinics should offer first–aid to immigrants, who don't get a public defender.

Congratulations to the folks at DeepMind! They created an artificial intelligence program that predicts the 3D structures of proteins from their amino-acid sequences. Proteins are the key to biologic activity. Knowing the structure will revolutionize drug discovery and the understanding of diseases. Like Deepmind's game-playing programs AlphaGo, AlphaZero and AlphaStar, the protein folding program AlphaFold2 is significantly better than human experts or software competitors. They have published the structures of 200,000,000 proteins. This is one of the major discoveries of our lifetimes.

The Button, by William J. Perry and Tom Z. Collina, 2020; we can take away the President's nuclear "football" when we take away the land–based ICBMs that tempt us to risk launching them on warning. Land–based missiles are insanely dangerous for that reason.
122 nations have signed a UN treaty prohibiting nuclear weapons, similar to the prohibitions on chemical and biological weapons, antipersonnel landmines and cluster munitions. We should too.
