Introduction
Introduction
Disabled Inclusive Welfare Association (DIA) is a collective of individuals with disabilities who have joined forces to support others facing similar challenges. Our mission is two-fold:
Advocacy: We fight for the protection and implementation of disability rights.
Empowerment: We provide assistive technology, skill-building programs, and small loans to help persons with disabilities achieve financial and personal independence.
Through DIA Welfare Association's independent living training, DIA aims to reach the maximum number of people, helping them transition from dependence to self-reliance.
Major Achievements
Don't Diss-Abilities
(First Ever Concert of Persons with Disabilities)
DIA Welfare Association is proud to host the first-ever concert featuring talented individuals with disabilities on March 2nd,2024 at the Taj Marquee in E-11, Islamabad.
This groundbreaking concert aims to raise awareness and promote inclusion in society. It aspires to create a new trend where artists with disabilities have equal opportunities to participate in mainstream events and channels, ultimately leading them to live fulfilling lives.
The DIA Welfare Association is further grateful to all participating government officials, media houses, media channels and sponsors for their unwavering support in fostering inclusivity. We believe this event will pave the way for increased artistic opportunities for individuals with disabilities in both public and private spheres.
Free Medical Camps
(Across Pakistan)
While DIA Welfare Association primarily advocates for the rights of persons with disabilities, it also hosts regular medical camps to support the wider community. These healthcare initiatives provide essential services during daily life as well as during crises such as floods and the COVID-19 pandemic.
Job Fairs
(For Persons with Disabilities)
DIA Welfare Association partners with institutions and Chambers of Commerce to expand job opportunities for PWDs. DIA works to open doors for Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) in the corporate world. We have successfully convinced many employers that PWDs contribute effectively to on-site operations. Through our periodic inclusive job fairs, we provide a central platform where PWDs can access diverse career opportunities and connect directly with hiring managers.
