Teaching Resume and Statements
Diane Linton Resume:
Professional Dispositions Statement Assessment:
My intention as a future educator is to create a positive, inclusive, and safe learning environment where my students are welcomed, understood, respected, and challenged. I promise to build collaborative and effective professional relationships with staff members in the school community to ensure our students thrive.
Through the professional dispositions assessment, I reflected on various professional disposition criteria to learn more about my principles as an educator. I acknowledge that I am committed, professional and reliable. I firmly believe that all students can learn and deserve to be taught in a way that is best suited for their individual needs. I hold high expectations for my students and feel that the classroom environment can significantly impact a student’s performance.
During my program of study, I learned about and experienced situations that contributed to my personal growth as an educator. For example, I have learned to be open to receiving constructive criticism and now welcome it. While I used to view feedback as something aversive, I have now learned to accept and receive feedback to strengthen my skill set as a teacher.
Throughout my program of study, I have worked with various members of the school community including the classroom teacher and the administration. Each faculty member has priceless knowledge and experiences to share with one another that can benefit a new teacher. In addition, I have learned that it is crucial to remain flexible and adjust plans as needed to better meet my student’s needs. While planning is important to implement effective lessons, it is equally important to be flexible and prioritize the day’s events.
There is a connection between professional dispositions and the Model Code of Ethics. Both the Model Code of Ethics and the professional dispositions are guidelines for educators to exemplify how to manage an effective classroom and thrive in the profession. One describes the qualities an educator has or will learn to excel in the profession, and the other dictates the standards and qualities that an educator must possess and follow to effectively manage their classroom and prosper professionally (Professional Dispositions Modules, 2023).
In conclusion, the most important lesson I learned is that there is always room for improvement. I am committing to professional development and collaboration as each will help me to improve in necessary areas. Committing to professional development and collaborating with fellow educators will allow me to gain vast knowledge and learn new skills to increase my students’ academic performance (Why Professional Development Matters, 2017).

This lesson incorporated a group lesson on the things we see during the Christmas Season. We read a story on things we see at Christmas, such as Santa, bells, and reindeer, then participated in a activity where the students matched the holiday pictures. The lesson focused on many of the students annual goals such as attending to a story, taking turn with peers, and receptively identifying pictures.
Sample Artifact #1: This is a number wall I created for my students who are currently working on identifying numbers 11 - 15 and counting up to number 3 to achieve their goal. I chose materials that displayed the number in different ways, laminated and hung them to encourage repetitive practice.
Sample Artifact #2: Our Classroom is tastefully decorated with appealing and appropriate elementary school décor. The classroom schedule is posted to keep our day on track. The students follow their individual picture schedule to structure their day and foster their independence. The classroom is designed to encourage collaborative group sessions as well as individual work sessions for each student.
Sample Artifact #3: This is a letter sent home to the families requesting video consent for my student teaching placement. I created the letter to ask their permission for their child to participate in our lessons. This letter was written and printed in both English and Spanish for the families.
Hello Families,
My name is Diane Linton and I will be student teaching in your child's classroom. While student teaching is a new endeavor for me, I have been a teacher aide at the school for the past six years. This December I will be graduating from Grand Canyon University with a master's degree in special education. I have enjoyed my graduate program and I am preparing for my future teaching career by taking this opportunity to teach in our class. As a student teacher, there will be four times where I will be observed by my supervisor implementing lessons to our students by recording videos in the classroom or video conferencing. Attached to this letter is a video consent form to allow your child to participate in the recorded lesson. Please rest assured that all confidential information will remain confidential. At no time will your child's personal information be shared on the video or otherwise.
If you are comfortable and willing to allow your child to participate in the lessons, please fill out the attached consent form.
Thank you for your time and consideration. I am very excited to begin student teaching and I look forward to getting to know you and your child as the year progresses!
Best Regards,
Diane Linton
